"Sub-standard size, noisy rooms, problem breakfast"
Great location, tiny rooms, extremely noisy (inter-room noise), offer a very breakfast menu but always out of items. Only 19 rooms. Maintenance poor in some respects. Overcharge for drinks, snacks and toiletries in rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel service need improvement."
Hotel was well maintained and clean, but service could have been better. Maid service missed cleaning the room one day. Had to specifically ask the front desk for maid service the next day. "Fine, but not great."
This hotel is fine, but leaves some things to be desired. Nice walkable location and affordable. Also has ocean view rooms. However, the rooms are small and the mattress is like sleeping on a block of jello. They try to up-sell you on all sorts of things which is annoying. Nice location for the town. Only issue is the night club down the street the bar fly, the music at night is loud. With the windows closed the it is stuffy but quite. I like the hotel and the staff. "Hotel needs extensive renovation"
While the staff was friendly and nice the condition of the hotel is obviously bad, with lights not working, a toilet that barely flushed, a sink area with very little space to set things, a shower that worked weakly, a window that would not stay up when opened, a noisy refrigerator, a very loose toilet seat, and carpeting in need of replacement. The convenience store also would not take a debit card/ credit card unless the charges were for more than ten dollars and the ATM machine wanted to charge $3.50 to extract cash. "A good place if you decide to visit the beach."
Everything works out for me, except the fact that their office close at 12am, and you will not have any kind of services after that time. Next is the internet, said to have wireless, but never had one. But they do have free Ethernet provided for customer. Even if they say that there may be a chance of wireless in the room, just get the free Ethernet […] wire from them. (yes, you'll need to leave a deposit) Beach is very close by as you can see the ocean once you step out of your room. Parking around the inn may be difficult during the day and early evening. "a nice surprise"
i really enjoyed my stay in january. it was a little chilly but the area, was prime. basically in the middle of downtown la jolla, one of my favorite places to be. thers lots of different types of activities real close. i usually stay at the beach and tennis club a little ways north, but i was pleasently surprised at the price location and the room […] i got, and at very short, immediate notice. the area is a little pricey, and on a steep hill fyi, but the staff at the la jolla inn was very professional and helpfull. and really made a last minute decision to stay there a very nice pleasant surprise. i would go back again. We stayed in the street level room- great location. Bed was comfy, room was clean, walk-in closet and dresser, lots of hangers. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast on the roof top patio- amazing views. Hotel staff was very nice and knowledgable. Would definetly recccomend this hotel. "Procurem outro hotel / looking for other hotel"
Esse hotel é péssimo. O quarto é pequeno, o banheiro é péssimo e o chuveiro foi feito para anão, vc tem que dobrar o joelho para lavar a cabeça. As recepcionistas são péssimas, parecia que estavam lá por obrigação. Finalizando o café da manhã é uma porcaria.
