"Very Expensive...outdated rooms"
We stayed in the rooms on the outside of the pool side area. The employess are very rued and were not very helpful. I found old milk and old takeout upon arriving in our room. THe food was good but very expensive. The pools were clean...and the kids really enjoyed them. They had to close the pool 3 hours early one night because of rain in the area. […] It never rained and didnt even see a cloud in the sky. That made guests very angry... Iwould bring your own food and drinks...otherwise it can get very expensive. Enjoyed the pool and the quiet atmosphere. Price was decent. Service was good except room service. Room service was nice but they forgot one breakfast, then brought it and still forgot coffee and then forgot the bacon. It took three trips and 30 minutes from delivery start to finish for us to get our two kids meals and one regular breakfast. "Awesome resort for families with kids of all ages"
We were very impressed with the amount of activities for our 3 kids ages ranging from 2-9. The rooms were very comfortable and the resort property was beautiful with very lush Natrual landscaping ponds fountains and plenty of shade. The overall look of the resort was nice, but the room felt and looked dated, thin walls and ceilings... we could hear other guests...all night, really loud plumbing sounds from rooms above us and breakfast NOT included. I was very impressed with the staff. They were friendly and professional. The bicycles needed to be better maintained. They were falling apart and needed air. The rooms needed more amenities. "Fun for the kids and nice for adults too"
It was crowded because of the Memorial Day holiday but was a lot of fun for all. The property is very well kept and the staff is very friendly and attentive. My husband and I were looking for a small getaway with our 9 & 12 year old boys. This was perfect! We stayed in the older section of the property which offered more seclusion & trees & lakes, but then there was the pool area which was jamming with activities for the kids. i would definitely recommend staying in the newer section of the property as the woodsy area (we originally checked into the "cedar" building, is older and set in the woods, hence lots of bugs). This hotel has two separate locations and is very spread out on the property. Make sure you are in the new building or you will have to take a golf cart to the pool. The pictures on website are very deceiving. You will need a map and a trail of breadcrumbs to find workout room or pools. "Labor Day at The Woodlands Resort"
We decided to take our 2 boys to the resort after reading about the activities planned at the resort for the Labor Day weekend on their Facebook page. Upon arrival, we were very pleased with the hotel staff and their friendliness and attentiveness. The room was very nice and I loved that we were able to get a shuttle to the pool area. The other guests […] were really nice to us as the atmosphere was family-oriented. There was a band playing and many other activities for the kids. The next morning, we awoke and went to the restaurant to have breakfast. My only complaint is that the breakfast buffet was a bit expensive; however, the food was good and the service was really good.
