    The room was beautiful. I loved the shower with the glass wall, the bedding was extreamly comfy and the decor was great. I alsoliked the in room alcohol... selection... now the negatives.. the location of the hotel puts it in a place I would not revisit and the so called "ocean view" room I paid extra for had a 2 foot wide x 3 foot tall window in the corner of the room to look out of. The clientele the night I stayed there was scary due to the night club on the 5th floor. When I walked intothe lobby at 1am in the morning it looked like a gang hang out complete w security, was crammed into a elevator w sweaty drunk people on my way to my room followed by security on the 18th floor (where I stayed) knocking on someones door. The room next door to me had loud people screaming all night next tomy head board. Nice hotel but I wasn't in ac to whoop it up at a dance club... Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 8, 2012

    This hotel is beautifully decorated, luxurious, has nice restaurants and a beautiful outdoor saltwater pool and fire pit. Unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy it. Even though it was a cold November night, the room was boiling hot. When we called and told the front desk, they said they were trying to fix the problem. We opened the windows but hardly […] any air could get in and there were rowdy screaming people until all hours nearby. In the morning when I complained to the manager he was surprised that noone offered to give us a different room, sohe gave us $30 towards the hotel restaurant. The worst part was when we were leaving and asked the valet to get the car, he said the car has a flat tire and that he can't get it. They tried to free themselves from all blame, but we were 2 girls in a stranger city so we got them to change the tire, and then when i had to get a new one, i made them pay for it. How can a valet not know how to park a car and how can it not be the hotel's responsibilty? I will not stay here again. Read more

    Front desk staff, waitress in coffee shop, all Hotel staff we encountered were extremely efficient & friendly. They seem to have top notch staff overall. But...... Room a/c did not work at all-thankfully we could open a window or we would have boiled......path to the nearby Tropicana hotel for shuttle took us through the back of the garage, past garbage […] and out the back service entrance- seemed odd for a 4 star Hotel. Soap was not wrapped-made us feel like it had already been opened and no shower cap although there was only a shower-no tub. Breakfast in the coffee shop was not very good- oatmeal undercooked, muffin way over browned. Pancakes tasted stale. No butter served, and we asked for it, but when we were done we got peanut butter that someone else's table had asked for- dropped off by a bus boy. The valet service was atrocious- they brought serveral cars that did not belong to any of the waiting guests, could not find my car for over 20 minutes. I eventually had to go into the office and find my own keys on the rack for them to locate my car which they kept insisting was under some other name, but my name was clearly on the tag labelled correctly....no other real choice for parking, though. Don't think I would ever stay there again, but got a great "unpublished deal" deal.... I felt like we got a leftover room on a noisy floor after they looked at our reservation and saw where we booked. I know they were at 100% occupancy, but I expected better. Read more

    The Chelsea is a beautiful hotel that puts its efforts into the guest and not into the casino. Stay here for the luxury, then walk to the casino. Much better accomadations for the money than the Tropicana.

The service was poor (consistently no one at the valet stand, waiting at check in counter, waiting way too long to get seated at the restaurant). I gave it a second shot and the service was the same.     We have stayed at the Chelsea previously, and have, in fact recommended it to others. After this year's visit, we will be reluctant to do so. The rooms are still charming, but the hotel seems to be falling into a bit of disrepair. Every time we left our room, our key needed to be reprogrammed--while standing in line to have this done for the fourth […] time, others in the line were complaining about the same problem. I also got stuck briefly in a malfunctioning elevator. We knew there were no coffee makers in room, but this year, even getting coffee in the hotel restaurant was an ordeal. On the second day the waitress finally told me to just take the coffee because they couldn't find anyone to open the cash register to give me change for a $5. Finally, the people in the room next to us had a noisy party that lasted all night. The walls in the hotel are so thin, we could hear everything that was going on until 5 AM. Read more

    We stayed at the Chelsea for a work conference. The meeting rooms were spacious and the lunches were great. The decor is a bit different than expected, but you get used to it. The rooms are set up in a 40s style with bright colors, leopard print chairs, the works. It is a bit of a no-frills hotel. I believe it is a remodeled Holiday Inn, but the bathrooms […] are updated with rain shower heads and a modern looking sink and shower door. The beds are comfortable and the room size is average. There is a club on the 5th floor adjacent to the very nice pool/lounge area. If you are a light sleeper, make sure you request as far away from the club as possible, because you can hear them until about 3am on the weekends. The Chelsea has a great beach service where they provide you chairs, towels and umbrellas free of charge, and even have someone to set it up for you! Make sure you use this service. The beach is about a 1 minute walk away. Parking is reasonable and the staff are all very helpful. Overall this hotel is a good buy. Very close to the beach, great pools and service, located on the boardwalk, a short trip to the casinos and within walking distance to many restaurants. Read more

    This is the best place to stay in AC if you want to get away from casino noise and crowds. Friendly staff and perfect location. The workout facility certainly needs upgrading though. The cardio machines are few (2) and very outdated. It would be nice to be able to use some of the spa services more frequently.

    It was our first trip to the area. The hotel is very retro. "60's" decor. You're expecting to see James Bond (Sean Connery) show up anytime! The neighborhood is a bit seedy, but it's not far from the boardwalk which is worth a stroll. It is an experience but be prepared to see some vagrants, There are also entrances to many of the Casinos from the boardwalk […] if you want to gamble. There's a nice high-end shopping mall at the Pier. We ate at the Trinity Irish Pub. Food was good, but if you want the happy hour specials, be sure to request seats in the bar area! Wonderful waves and sandy beach on the coast accessable from the boardwalk.
