Overlooking the Boardwalk, this Atlantic City hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Central Pier, Steel Pier, several casinos, and Ripley's Believe It or Not! Absecon Lighthouse, Atlantic City Convention Center, and Atlantic City Outlets at The Walk are all about a mile away.

The 10-story hotel's top floor houses an indoor splash pool and spa tub, as well as a wrap-around sundeck. A small fitness area provides cardio and strength-training machines. Staff can provide business services (surcharge) and tour assistance. Coin-operated laundry facilities are on site, and the hotel offers free garage parking.

La Renaissance Suites has 48 air-conditioned condo rentals, all providing kitchens with microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee/tea makers. Bathrooms are equipped with jetted tubs, shower/tub combinations, and hair dryers. Separate sitting areas are furnished with sofa beds. Phones have voice mail, and dial-up Internet access (surcharge) is available. Accommodations also provide clock radios, safes, and irons and ironing boards. Rollaway beds and cribs (infant beds) can be requested.

"Loved our stay but...."
Our stay was really nice the parking was tight but we parked and didn’t move our car. My issue with the room was every time the air conditioner went on it sounded like an old car starting up!!! That was bad at night when we were trying to sleep. The pool is small but very nice one day we went up and couldn’t go in because a family was their drinking […] and smoking pot!! I have stayed at this hotel for several years. Unfortunately, it keeps deteriorating in service. It is clean and the location is great. The parking garage is convenient. That's about it. They informed us there was limited TV available. None in bedrooms of your suite. There are no longer card keys to access entrance. You must wait for someone to let […] you into hotel or garage....had to get out of car and walk to front door to get them to open gates. The hot tub did not work. The treadmill did not work. There is supposed to be a kitchen in your suite, but we find out there is no longer a stove, just a microwave. It is clean, but most of the furniture has seen its day and is in no shape to use. "not bad for the price"
Stayed here before. For the price you can't complain. If you are looking for a hotel with a full kitchen and seperate bedroom this a good place with a family with kids.. The hotel is clean but somewhat dated. Looks like all the carpet was replaced. The bathroom could use a make over. The staff was very attentive. Walk across the board walk to the beach. […] When I checked in asked if there was a room with a ocean view terrace. My room wasn't but hotel staff chnaged my room to one w/ a terrace. Parking is tight but free and very secure. "On the Boardwalk"
We stay here often because of the convenience to the boardwalk, beach, shops and casinos. The rooms have a full kitchen which is great if you want to save money and cook or even if you just want to heat up leftovers. It's a timeshare, so you're not always guaranteed a particular room type. The economy has been tough so some of the projects the owners […] want to do have been put on hold. The carpet in the hallways really needs updating, but the room is always clean and comfortable. There is a garage with a car elevator to the third parking level. We've always parked on ground level but this time, it rained quite a bit during our stay and the garage has a tendency to flood. We took our car up to the third floor - yow! Built mid century, this hotel could use a facelift. But the rooms are large and comfortable. The staff friendly. The bathroom was small and needed work but was functional. "smoking rooms"

"Checked In then Checked Right Back Out!!!"
This was one of the worst hotel experiences of all time (and I am a road warrior so I've seen my fair share of poor hotels). Not really sure where to start. We literally walked in, checked out the place and checked out within an hour. The bed and sofabed both had food in them. They clearly did a horrible job of cleaning. The bath had bath water still […] in it too!!! Gross. It was not clean at all. Also, every room is a smoking room. That was not mentioned in the hotel listing, so if you are a non-smoker - beware. It will smell like smoke and there are multiple ashtrays in every room. This is a smokers paradise - and it smelled and looked like it. This was a problem for us since our son was asthmatic and within minutes was having an allergic reaction. We never would have booked if we knew all rooms were smoking rooms. The front desk said they cannot advertise that the rooms are all smoking rooms since the units are all timeshares. (Not sure why OR who would pay good money to have a timeshare here). The hotel webpage said all the furniture was new and upgaded. That may have been true in 1995 which is when the furniture looked like it was new. There were cigarette marks on the furniture and on the floor. The jetted tub looked like it was "well-used" and the rubber non-slip pads that were stuck to the bottom were peeling up. The paint on the tub was also peeling. The hallways are dirty and in need of new carpet and paint. We did look at the pool area which was dated but the water looked clean. They did offer us another room for our troubles, but upon review, the room, while cleaner, was really no better than our first room. Needless to say, this was no place for my wife and kids to relax so we were out within an hour. For the price we paid, I would consider this to be a rip-off. The quality is along the lines of a $45 a night cheap roadside hotel. If you are looking for a hotel in Atlantic City, I cannot recommend this one. "Just Don't Expect the Four Seasons"
As long as you know what to expect, you will be very satisfied with La Renaissance. Since the rooms are actually owned condos that they rent out, smoking is allowed throughout the hotel. Oceanfront rooms have a balcony that overlook store roofs and the ocean. Oceanview rooms have more windows and a nice view but only two windows open slightly - for […] security reasons. All rooms feature a fully equipped kitchen - fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils and much more. The queen size bed takes up almost the entire bedroom area and there is a sofa bed in the living room. The dining area has a table and chairs. The TVs are older models, but adequate. The pool is only 4' deep and quite small. Not great for a swimmer, but fine for kids to play or doing water aerobics. The fitness equipment doesn't work. The game room is a pool table, TV, and 2 video games. You've heard about the car elevator - very strange, but parking is included so you deal with it. The hotel is right on the boardwalk between Resorts and Ballys near Central Pier. The walkway to the beach is right there too. People say it's not in the best part of town. Is anywhere on the AC boardwalk the best part of town? You're in AC - you know what it is. We stay here whenever we go to AC - the price is right, the location is convenient, you have to be buzzed in at the door (we like the security), and housekeepers and other staff are always around and accommodating.
