"Central Location on Boardwalk"
We were first-timers in Atlantic City for a 2 night 3 day mini vacation and Bally's met our hotel needs. It was a clean, comfortable place to stay (we had the "classic king" room in the Dennis Tower. Other guests we shared an elevator with had nothing but complaints for the Claridge Tower so I'd recommend making sure you get a room in the Dennis Tower […] if possible.) Yes, the hotel looks like it was last decorated in the 80s but we didn't go on vacation to stay in the hotel. The back of the casino at Bally's opens up onto the Boardwalk and the other Boardwalk casinos and properties of interest (The Pier shops at Caesar's, Central Pier, Steel Pier, mini golf, etc) are within 5-15mins walking distance--very convenient! One thing to keep in mind, however, is that Bally's (and the other casinos for that matter) are in an area where you can go from a great part of town to a rundown, not-so-great part of town within 1 city block. "I didn't know people like this existed."
It was horrible, room was tiny. Felt like I was in a housing project with the lowest class of people imaginable. Seriously saw things that I thought were only horrible stereotypes. Better then Harrahs Resort,too far! Ballys smelled so good as soon as you walk in,welcoming! And the pool made it great for my son! I had stood at Harrahs my first two nights and when checking out decided to stay an extra night so we just randomly chose Ballys. We were pleased from the start it was right on the boardwalk, we were so far from everything […] when at the Harrahs the only fun thing to do to night was the pool party it seemed and that was for adults so I didn't.go becuse I had my son. But ballys pool is for kids untill 5 even though the pool needed to be a bit more clean it was fun. Also people were much friendlier in Ballys. Might I add the view from our window at the Dennis tower over looking the beach was beautiful, especially to wake up too. The rooms were much more modern and a flat screen which Harrahs lacked. "Nice but not exceptional"
The check in is 4pm so every person waited in line while only 2 hotel staff assisted about 100 people checking in.. We got to our room, which was right by the elevator and everyone that was drinking all night yelled when they walked by. The room was decently clean, but my daughter lost a toy and while looking for it, I found an empty candy bag under […] the nightstand and about 5 bobby pins on the floor. There isn't a combiner way to get children to the room. I understand it is a casino, yet it is still a hotel close to the attractions. When we wanted to get to the boardwalk with a stroller, we had to take an elevator to the Wild West area, which is now basically a bar, and walk through. On our way back in, we were stopped by a security guard who told us to go around, and up the stairs!? When we got there, another guard advised where the elevator was. I politely told him that the other man told us to go this way.. "Great AC Hotel--Great Central Location"
We got to the hotel around 2pm so we were charged an extra $10 Early Check-In fee. If you don't want to pay, wait until check-in. Our room was very nice. It was roomy, clean and had a wonderful view of the ocean and the boardwalk. I liked the fact that we were attached to Wild West City, Caesars and the mall on the boardwalk so we didn't have to go […] outside if we didn't want to. We were in the older side of the hotel. Small room, generally clean but details(vents, baseboards) not very clean. The new side was very nice , staff very helpful and pleasant. My son and I stayed over for 4 nights and five days. We really liked the Hotel because it was right on the boardwalk and beach. The rooms were very spacious. We were on the 17th floor and overlooked the boardwalk and beach. The restaurants were fairly priced and the food was good in B/B and the coffee shop. Casino a rip off. on average slots take 5min to eat $20. Everything swim treadmill wifi is extra even Mcdonalds gives free wifi. Their computers for guests to pay to use are ancient with Windows 2000 on them. Prices in restaurants are incredibly high. I have to say that when you think of Bally's you think of a great name, but first when we had to check in , I was not sure if I was checking in the hotel or I was that the airport, the line was just as long. "Bailey's Alantic City"
I was very disapointed that I booked a room at Bailey's but was assigned a room in the very old Cladgridge Tower. These rooms have not been updated. So unfortunately it wasn't really conveniently located where the casinos or restaurants were. although the rooms were okay, they did not have a pleasant view at all. just the back of the hotel... "Was better back in the day"
This used to be a pretty good hotel 4-5 years back. Rooms were much cleaner, and was better staffed. Now long check-in lines, out-of-service self check-in machines, and older rooms are the norm. "Convenient location"
Nonsmoking room was clean and confortable. Air conditioner was working great--no smell. By catching room service in the hallway we could ask extra towels, coffee, plastic bags, etc... No problem.
