I will never stay here again the room smelled. The service was lousey.. The valet parking was horrible.. On top of that they lied and charged me extra money on my bill.. People were fighting in the hallways at night..i will never stay here again and im telling all my friends in philadelphia not to book with this getto hotel..

The room had stains on the carpet and walls. The light fixtures were broken and the room was overall in bad shape. For $200+, it was rip-off. Its only positive quality is its proximity to the boardwalk which is less than a block away.

The Annex part of the Chelsea need a little more attention, it was cleaner when it was the Howard Johnson. The Ice machines were all out of service on every floor. We had to go to the main building 6th floor for ice. SMH....

Upon arrival the lobby was beautiful but what they don't tell you online is there is a $10 obligatory valet fee you must pay to park your car at the hotel! Walking to my room at the annex made me feel like I was walking into a scene from a horror movie the walls in the hallways and the rooms could use a fresh coat of paint to freshen the place up a […] bit. Upon entering the room I was greeted with a dank smell and a very old set of dresser drawers. Upon walking into the bathroom there was urine dried onto the toilet seat and it appeared as though the bathroom stepped straight out of the 60's. We had very few outlets, the only mirror in the whole room was in the bathroom and there was no mini fridge or even an ice machine on the annex side of the hotel. There bathrooms have low flow toilets and after two men using it the toilet was clogged and overflowed. The phones didn't work to call the front desk and after we contacted them in person to notify them of the situation we returned to our room 6 hours later to find that nothing was done to fix it alrhough the water level seem to have subsided on its own. After calling again, they slowly brought new towels but no one ever attempted to clean the bathroom or even take our dirty towels. While they did in the end comp the room, I was very dissatisfied with the state of a hotel that costs $250+ per night and the lack of attention to guests in distress. Read more

My room was disgusting!! I had feces in the toilet, the bed wasn't made, there is nasty stuff on the floor in the bathroom, and they put me right next to the loud elevator. I would rather stay in a motel 6 in the hood then there. Tried to get a new room and I was denied. So I only checked in and checked out 15 minutes later.

This was one of the worst hotel rooms I've ever stayed in, and it takes a lot to make me unhappy. Usually all I would need is a bed and a bathroom and it's all good, but this place was a disaster. Our door didn't lock, the artwork was removed from all the walls leaving marks everywhere, 2 of the 3 light fixtures were broken, the closet was completely […] destroyed, and the list goes on. I stayed in the Annex and 1 elevator worked and moved so slow. The place is dirty, needs major work done in every area and the only element in the room that looks like this century is the tv. The front desk staff were amazing and the rest very non customer focused. Glad I was rarely in the room.It was a terrible experience.

The only update seemed to be the flat panel tv and an mp3 dock. Wireless was available for no charge and very slow. Te furnishings were original from the 1950's and very worn. Veneer on cabinetry worn through. Hollow doors were fractured and peeling. No mirror in room, except in bath. Poor lighting and worse ac. Bedding was comfortable. Paid a lot of money for a room that was located in Syberia, completely isolated and detached from the 'good' part of the hotel. The room was ok, but some of the electronics did not work and things were falling off the wall in the bathroom. The following morning, the hotel was working off of generator providing a little bit of power and limited air conditioning in 90 degree weather. We left for the day to do some walking around and visiting the casinos (who had full power!), only to return in the evening to a deserted hotel. It seems that the governor shut the hotel (a work in progress since earlier that day, but none of the staff members seemed to think fit of telling us) and we were allowed about 10 minutes to grab our things and find an alternative place to stay. We were given a number to call to find other rooms, but who could find a room on a Saturday night after 7pm? We swear never to stay here again. It's not worth the extreme price tag or the headache. While the other side of The Chelsea may be attractive and well-maintained, The Annex is one of the worst motels I have ever stayed in. Yes. I need to call it a motel because it is honestly no different then where you might stay if you got a place in Wildwood of Seaside. Then when I actually got to the room I was shocked at the state of disrepair. Everything was old and musty smelling. The walls were badly damaged, scuffed, and there were exposed nails from where things used to be. The furniture was old and dingy and the air conditioner leaked and soaked the carpet. The Annex was not worth more than you would pay for a Rhodeway Inn. The only plus was that the Trop was right next door and they gave you free beach chairs and towels. Do yourself a favor and stay in one of the more reputable hotels in AC. Read more

While I believe the actual Chelsea Hotel is nice the Annex is very overrated. It's for young people who like to party. We wre there to visit my husbands brother and we were unable to take them to our room. I we were unable to sleep all night due to people in the halls still partying after hours. I decided to have my sisters bachlorette party at the Chelsea Hotel because they have an outside pool, restaurants and nightclub all in one. All though we had fun at the bachlorette party, the rooms at the Annex where disgusting. I don't know what I was expecting since I had read the reviews on this site before booking. But, for the price of the rooms, […] I was actually embarrassed for the hotel that they charge as much as they do for the rooms that they provide. The first issue was that we reserved 3 rooms all with Queen beds. What we got was 3 rooms with King size beds. So, three of us had to sleep in one bed in two of the rooms and I complained to get one room with queen beds since there were four people staying in that room. Who does that! All three rooms were below par. Our bathroom was disgusting, and there were weird stains on the bedspreads in the other rooms. All three rooms were SO hot and I called for a maintenance person and no one every showed up. We just decided to grin and bear the rooms since we were there to have fun and didn't want to ruin our good time. But, if you are looking for a nice place to stay, DO NOT stay in the Annex. I have stayed in the renovated part of the Chelsea and that is nice, but you will pay double for the Annex. I would look into other hotel and casinos. Read more

Not worth it, don't want to remember. Even the restaurant in the hotel is over priced! You could get a buffet at casino 5 star hotels in the area for much less and get much more and unlimited food!! O-M-G.......the bacon was fried and filled with oil. It was damp, greasy and disgusting. Not to mention the cold coffee when it was meant to be hot.

Reason not to choose that hotel: 1) None of my request that I send in advance to hotel is unable to comprise. For example, they are unable to provide a coffee maker to our room. But the worst is the attitude towards me as I am check in. They told me that you can refund if you disatisified since there is a lot of people waiting to book a room to attend […] the weekends outdoor concerts nearby. I am totally unable to accept the attitude as we check-in. 2) The door access card does not work frequently. I need to runs between my rooms at 3rd floor and front desk to exchange or fix the door access card. It happens four times during my 5 days nights stay. This is extremely inconvenient. 3) I found some of the towels in the bathroom did not change for me with a clean one. -The only appreciated facilities in the hotel is the swimming pool and the restaurant.
