This was the worst Expedia reserved experience I've had. Location was misrepresented; not in Woodbridge NJ-actually in Avenel across the highway from Rahway State Prison( they skirt the issue by claiming to be in Woodbridge Twp.). Room window literally 50 feet from highway noise. Was given a bizarre layout handicapped room. Whole building smelled like […] a combo of cigarette smoke and overuse of deodorizer to mask it. Dimly lit and old stretched out carpeting everywhere.Place was reasonably maintained but it was like lipstick on a pig. Due to the hurricane taking out the power did noy get to enjoy my full stay. During the comotion of the evacuation my wallet with keys. Crediy cards and drivers license was lost. The room was clean and very comfortable but the room I was given was right next to the elevator and you can hear everything in the hall and everyone getting off and on from the elevator and the elevator going up and down as well. This hotel used to be very good. I lived there many times. However, this time it changed totally. I lost TV signal for three days. They said they will give me 15% discount for the room charge as a kind of compensation but I have not received any email notice. One of the elevators was broken and no one came to repair. The room key didn't work everynigh, […] so I had to go to front desk to reinitiate it. Breakfast keeps the same for three years without any change. The carpet in the room was old and not very clean. Stayed there for 2 nights to visit NYC. They provide shuttle to Rahway station and back for free which is great. The breakfast timing is only upto 9 am. But they continue to serve till 9:30 or so. We were looking for hotel with good value (clean, good condition, reasonable rates) convenient to Cranford. There are MANY hotels in the area, with prices ranging from 20% under this rate to triple the rate, with many at nearly double. Comfort Suites Woodbridge met all of our requirements very nicely, and had a very broad continental breakfast as well.
