"Someone tried to enter my room"
Overall, I recommend looking at other hotels in the area. There are several available right next to the Ramada. My recommendation is based on an incident that occurred one morning of our stay. At around 9am, someone tried to enter our room. We had booked the hotel for a quiet weekend away and were still in bed with the extra lock latched. Luckily the […] locked stopped them from entering. Never did anyone identify themselves or apologize if it was housekeeping. Plus, I travel extensively for my job and I've never had housekeeping not identify themselves when knocking, nor have they ever tried to come in so early in the morning. I expressed that an incident as such is inappropriate and only then did they say, "oh yes, I guess that shouldn't have happened". I'd also point out to the housekeeping staff that two queen size beds should imply four people in the room, yet we were consistently given three towels. "Where not to stay!"
I booked 2 rooms for my 99 year old grandmother and myself. My grandmothers rooms was less than adequate especially for a disabled room. It was located on the opposite end of the hotel from the restaurant. My grandmother contacted the front desk because of a hum in the A/C unit. An employee came down and told her she was hearing things. I went to the […] room and heard the hum and i contacted the front desk. They told me i was imagining things until i told them i tried to turn the unit off and it wouldn't turn off. They agreed to send a maintenance man. When he arrived he couldn't turn the unit off and he had to take the cover off. The unit was a frozen block of ice. They switched out the A/C unit. The next day when i went to the front desk to speak with someone i had to wait while the front desk person was on the phone with housekeeping going over the day's schedule. After 5 minutes (and 3 additional people standing on line) i asked Christine the front desk person to get off the phone so she could help the people in front of her. She refused. I then asked for the manager. She wouldn't acknowledge me. i had to ask 3 more times before she told me Trisha the manager wasn't in and wouldn't come in till after 9.
