"Good for a short stay"
I think it should be fenced because all around the hotel we have boards which says "Park at your own risk and hotel management is not responsible for the loss of goods". This is not a good way to welcome guests as we pay $$$ for staying and security too. So if its not secured enough then why would the guests come to stay there. Please make it more secured. "Mixed review"
There wasn't anything really wrong with this hotel, but it isn't in the best shape...it is really showing signs if major depreciation and is in need of renovation. New paint, carpets, plumbing, etc. Depending on what you're doing in New Orleans or Metairie, this hotel may suit your needs. I was only there for two nights, and I live nearby in Baton Rouge […] so I didn't feel it was necessary to spend more money at a downtown hotel. This was not really were I needed to stay. The hotel was not in a very good location, but it was easy to find. There was only one person working the front desk and it was hard to get through to them when I was trying to call in to make a change. Once I talked with them they were very friendly though. "Great for the price!"
I was traveling alone and wanted a safe, clean, convenient and inexpensive hotel to sleep. In my research, I read the many reviews on this hotel and was a bit weary because of some of them. Because of the good reviews and it's overall rating and price, I stayed here. I had the right expectations for this hotel and was pleased with the accommodations […] and the convenience of the attached IHOP. The hotel smelled a bit of smoke, but my room smelled fine. Bathroom is aged, but in proper, working order. Free continental breakfast at IHOP and wireless access in my room was a nice perk. It isn't new or perfectly kept, but for 1 night, it was acceptable. If you're expecting the Four Seasons, don't stay here. If you're ok with an aged Holiday Inn-like hotel, you'll be ok here. When I come back to New Orleans for business, I'll stay here again. the first room i got was far from the elevator and there were men sitting on the floor near my room. i had to walk over them. the air conditioner stayed on all night and the mattress was uncomfortable. i asked to move for the second night. this room was close to the elevator and was much more up to date. mattress very comfortable. air conditioner newer. The location was nice and the staff very friendly. "Good and bad"
The hotel is showing its age. Many things need to have some attention given to it. One of the elevators has been out of working condition for over a month now, the hallway carpet needs to be replaced. Rooms are descent but the pillows have a nasty smell, and the comforter also stinks. I doubt it ever gets washed. The plumbing in the entire building […] needs attention. "Needs Improvements"
I arrived in the middle of the night and had to go online while standing in the lobby to get best rate. Desk person honored rate on line, but she did not know about multiple night discounted rates. Sheets and bedspread did not appear to be laundered, pillows smelled like body odor. Television only worked properly for about one third of the channels. […] Buttons on 3rd floor elevator were broken. Hallways were hot, dirty, dimly lit, smelled of urine and needed attention. "Decent but could use improvements"
My keys kept not working so I had to keep getting them replaced. My room's AC unit was very loud and would not cool down the room, I woke up hot every night. The wi-fi was spotty, do not rely on getting internet work done at this hotel. Plan on running outside because the workout room is tiny and doesnt have free weights. The pluses were that my room […] was always clean when I came back and the shower had good water pressure. It was also nice having ihop for a breakfast option and lots of stores, restaurants and other useful places nearby on Veteran's Hwy.
