Walls VERY thin. When we were trying to sleep we could clearly hear conversations of guests in the room adjacent to our room 514. Very annoying. Had to call front desk. Desk called the adjacent room, and when their phone rang, it sounded as if it was OUR phone ringing (that's how thin the walls were). Was promised a room switch the next day (that never […] happened). Alarm clock did not work (was even unplugged when we arrived). Hotel staff called, but even they could not fix it. No new clock provided. A live roach was killed (by me) in our bathroom (gross). Also, our used plastic hotel cups were left on the bathroom vanity by housekeeping (instead of being discarded and new ones provided). Caulking on floor around bathtub base was dirty. I thought the hotel was very clean and the service was excellent. Everybody was nice and the food was great. The only problems we had were the pool was not open when we were there but it didn't matter because we were gone all the time and the other problem was that the bar downstairs was not open very often.

Missed maid service one day. On two other days, maid did not provide soap or bottled water. Thermostat in room did not work properly. Maid threw out receipts that were being saved. Other than that, room was clean and comfortable, and the front desk did us a huge favor by sending the maintenance man to pick us up late one night because we could not get […] a cab. Melanie from the front desk went above and beyond working with my cousin who was suppose to stay there. Expedia did not transfer her reservations from one Sheraton to the Sheraton Metairie. I booked a king and pre-paid way ahead of time, and when i went up to my room it had two double beds, and the desk clerk couldn't get me a king until my last night of a 4 day stay. She sould have told me at the desk, and not be dis-appointed when i walked in. I would have never thought of staying in this area, but its proximity to the interstate and the mall made this a great location. We normally stay in the CBD, but this was easier to get in and out of and cut our get-around time down. The only downfall was that the shower was a little dirty the first day, but that was quickly fixed.

Well meaning staff but utterly in dire need of more employees. Room was not ready at check in time due to not enough cleaning staff and check in itself took forever. Bartender pulling quadruple duty as waiter, bartender, buser and bar back for around thirty people all by herself.

The hotel is overall OK for business travelers but not so much for family (although the guests there do not look quite business people). The pro is the bed and bedding, which are very comfortable. The con is that it does not have a lot of basic features such as refrigerator and microwave, and even a towel shelf that's accessible from the shower (i.e. […] you have to travel some distance from the bathtub to reach your towel and nowhere in between to put it). So if you are just looking for a good bed to sink into but bare minimum for the rest of the room, go for it. I'm disappointing with the housekkeping staff, we left around 11a.m. to stay overnight on 12/31/12 with a relatives, we come back on 01/01/13 around 3:p.m., the room was in the same condition that we let it. We call for room services and the employee were uppsett for the request, asking to hold done until the next shiff take over. November: Asked the front desk for another blanket....it never made it to our room. December: First night there, there was a dorm-style refrigerator sitting on the floor by the bathroom, unplugged. It was leaking water all over the carpet. After two calls to the front desk, someone from maintenance came and picked it up. My husband told him we would […] call the front desk the next day for another refrigerator and something to put it on (a table, cabinet, etc.) The maintenance worker told us that all refrigerators were set on the rug. I thought this very tacky! The maid service was terrible! A few days we received towels, and no washcloths. Christmas was understandable...we had no service (our choice). On our last night there (December 27), the room wasn't even made up....bed unmade, dirty towels still on floor in bathroom, etc. For the entire week we were there, most days had something wrong with the service. My husband wrote a nasty-gram on the survey for hotel management, and he is always going to write a letter to Corporate. We will never stay there again! Read more

Ad said free internet. True for lobby only - otherwise 10.95 a day in the room. Took forever to check in. Only one desk area, only one person behind desk, long line and slow per person. Good free parking garage. Room typical, nothing exceptional. Nothing nearby to the hotel.
