"Great deal for a place to lay your head"
We stayed here to attend the Tulip Time Festival in Holland, so we were really just here to sleep for the night, but the room was clean and spacious. We had a fireplace (which we didn't use) and a kitchen, which allowed us to grab a frozen pizza from Meijer for under $10, heat it in the oven and have a cheap meal in the room. To be able to have a queen suite with full kitchen for less than $100 was great. The hotel appears to have been converted from an old apartment complex, which is a neat idea, and was very quiet as a result. "good place to spend a week."
First day was rough. They had recently upgraded their wifi and staying connected was rough. That is pretty much my only issue. Awesome location, staff was very friendly, very nice studio style apartment. Fully equipped. Loved the fire place. Lots to do and see in the area. "Great hotel for family vacation"
It's best for multi-days family vacation. It's practically a condo. There are two levels, two full bathroom and three TVs. The fully equipted kichen can allow some cooking / warm up of left overs. "Roomy comfort for families"
I don't think they have finished all the remodeling but they need night stands and lamps by the upgraded king bed in our suite. It was little things that were missed. No headboard on the bed and an odd large table in our room. Curtains between room could be updated or better yet put in French doors. Young lady at the front desk was hopeless at Expedia […] reservations and booked someone else for our last night at the hotel. Glad I wasn't that lady but was alarmed by a call from front desk that we had to get out. I think she figured out her error and we did stay put. I was in GR for business for an entire week so the Hawthorn suites were perfect. The rooms are clean and spacious, and provide a good value for the price. We booked a 2 bedroom, but it was actually a one bedroom and mostly private loft. It worked OK and just think the site doesn't allow description of such a unit so they listed it as the closest option. My guess is Wyndum just took over this property and were updating it. Our room was very clean and felt welcoming. The exteriors of the buildings and the condition of the stairs were not the best but suitable.
