We have included all charges provided to us by this hotel. However, charges can vary, for example, based on length of stay or the room you book.
This should be a rent by the hour hotel. Great for hookers and the homeless, all others should AVOID. They did not honor the reservation, gave me a room ( smoke filled ), instead of the non smoking 1 bedroom suite I paid for. The room was not clean ( used soap in the shower, sheets were not clean ). Condition was poor ( furniture had cigarette burned […] holes, AC was 80 db+, tv was cracking due to poor wiring ). ""HOSTAGE IN A HOTEL ROOM""
I got to the hotel and checked in, when I got to the room the swipe card did not work so I went back to the front office while my boyfriend stayed at the room. The woman made 2 more keys and by the time I made it back to the room another employee let my boyfriend in. The young man was talking on a walkie talkie with the woman from the office and she […] told him to check the second set of keys and they did not work either. She then told him to leave his key and he took the second set back with him. We needed to be somewhere at 8pm and now it's 8:40 pm so we put our things in the room and left. When we returned at 2:45am we were unable to enter our room for the 3rd time, went back to front office to get more keys and guess what they didn't work either. Back to the office and the employee said that he could not get in contact with the handy man or the manager. He offered us another smaller room for the night and that was the best he could do, and I had to decline because all of our luggage was in the room that we could not get into. I told him that we had to get in the room because I needed my medication and he said there was nothing he could do. I asked if there was a master key and he got all of the housekeeping keys and came back to the room. WOW the door opened with the housekeeping key, as he started back down the staires I asked him for the key and he said that he coulden't give me on and if I needed to leave to come back to the front desk and they will let me in. "Just like my college apartment!"
New owner is obviously trying to do some upgrades to this hotel. IT NEEDS IT! But, it will take a lot of renovation to make it a hotel that I would choose. We checked out after the first night a found a much nicer hotel down the road for only a few more dollars.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Gatehouse Suites Grand Rapids"
Upon Checking into our room we found garbage under the sinks. The room smelled of cigerette smoke (no smoking) with cigeretts butts outside the room. "SCAM - And poor customer service"
We stayed 6 hours and were billed an extra day's stay because no one was monitoring their front desk when we had a plane to catch. We tried to check-out at 5am to catch a flight and we sat at the entry door phoning the front desk and NO ONE was around for 10 minutes. Finally we had to leave to catch our flight. When we got back I called to have them […] correct the issue and they said we had 2 reservations, one through hotels.com and the other one they made without our authorization. "Rude Staff and Bugs in the Bed"
I found myself sneezing and had fear of mold but after I woke up with 4 bug bites on my back then I knew I had real problems. I took my grave concerns to the manager who immediately went into "defense" mode. He never apologized or offered any concern whatsoever. "Super Value"
I loved the room or I should suite as it had a complete kitchen, sofa area and even a fireplace. A great hot breakfast was also a positive in the Gatehouse Suites Grand Rapids.
