The hotel was nice and in a very convenient location since I did not rent a car, but took taxis. Right across from the mall and literally a two minute walk from several restaurants, and a 5 minute walk from others. The hotel was clean and the room was smaller, but nice. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The breakfast selection is great...love making waffles and the western eggs and yogurt. "High-Quality Hampton Inn"
Thought this was a very high-quality Hampton Inn. I always try to stay at Courtyard by Marriott properties when possible, but tried this location after the Courtyard-Haywood location was disappointing. This hotel as an older look, but nice lobby and very comfortable rooms and beds. They have "happy hour" snacks from local restaurants every afternoon, […] and the staff (especially the morning front desk guy on my stay, morning of 6/1/12) are very friendly and welcoming. This is always a hotel chain you can trust, but I'd give this location very high marks. Its also barely a 2 minute walk to Haywood Mall and less than 5 minutes to downtown. "My stay at Hampton Inn in Greenville, SC"
Prior to selecting this hotel I stopped by and asked to see one of the rooms since I have been disappointed in past hotels. I was denied this opportunity since nobody was available to escort me. I did the same thing at the Drury Hotel which is slightly more upscale and was allowed to visit a room without escort (gave them my drivers license info). I […] eventually decided to stay here anyways. My stay was cut short by one day and I advised the front desk of the early checkout. When notifying Hotels.com of the early departure they could not get ahold of the manager for 2 days trying to get a credit issued for the last day. The first night I noticed the HVAC fan ran continuously. I advised the front desk the next morning and maintenance had repaired it before I arrived that evening and left me a card indicating as much. I was greeted by Merci at the front desk, "wonderful lady," warm, personal, and professional. I stayed three nights, and my room was always clean. The free breakfast was awesome!
