"Low Budget Accomodations"
Well located, low budget accomodations. If you maintain lowered expectations from the onset, then all should be fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Location mediocre room"
The location of the hotel was great for dining and being able to catch the bus up to the mountain. You definitely pay for what you get when it comes to hotels. The room was and it was a decent size big enough for two people. The real down side was the uncomfortable beds and pillows. We woke up each morning with aches and pains from the bed and pillow […] so bring your own pillow for comfort. It was also great to have a hot tub on site after a long day of skiing but the color of the water was a little suspicious. Overall I would give this hotel and average rating. Expected the worst but actually not that bad. Pleased that they now have safes in the room as well as coffee makers. Unfortunately the wifi was very weak and slow.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Get what you pay for"
Bearing in mind that this was the cheapest place in Mammoth for Thanksgiving week, we took the experience with a grain of salt. Pros: decent location (central between town and Village), cheap, has DirectTV, cheap, has a fridge and microwave (really liked that), cheap, serves a basic breakfast for free. Cons: 1. Hot water was a major issue for us, […] but the staff claimed they were currently in the process of getting a new water heater, so this may or may not be a problem in the future. Had a really nice shower at 6 am, but anything after that was lukewarm, and sometimes not even that. 2. Our particular room kind of smelled like cat litter, and along the baseboards were remnants of animal hair in the carpet. If you don't want this to potentially be an issue, ask for an animal-free room. 3. Room heater works well, but was really loud and turned on and off throughout the night, so it woke us up when it turned on, and then again when it turned off. 4. Walls a little thin, so loud neighbors woke us up at 3 am when they came back into their room. I understand you get what you pay for, so again, being so cheap there's only so much I expected. Compared to other Econolodges I have stayed in, I'd say it was not quite as good, but it was certainly cheap! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"decent low cost option"
Hot water very intermittent! Its a place to crash after skiing, not much more. Good location, no thermostat for the hvac so it's either on or off, staff friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review

Basic and spartan but many ammenities (free wifi, microwave, coffee etc. Room heating and cooling fan is annoyingly loud. Lucky did not need it at night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Economy lodgings"
We were passing through Mammoth on our way to Yosemite; this is a total budget hotel, nothing fancy, a tad tacky, and clean enough. Not the best choice for an extended stay in the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

dont expect much. this looked to be a very old building. we were in there from 10PM to 8Am, so we did not bother much about it. but if given a chance i would avoid staying out here. we planned this at the last moment so i took what i got. but i will not miss this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not quite worth it"
We chose this motel on the price and know it would not be a great place. We were still surprised by how small the room was - the smallest ever we stayed in across US. The queen bed was rather hard and everything else were squeezed into this incredible small space. The linens were obviously not cleaned good enough and we found hairs here and there. The […] parking was difficult to find and the fact that we were assigned a room on the back second floor certainly did not help - we had hard time unloading our stuff. The staff was polite. The environment was quiet. The breakfast was almost nothing to write about. Overall it is not a very good value and we cannot recommend it unless you have no other place to stay. "close to great hikes and natural areas"
This hotel was a little run down but it looked as though they are slowly improving the property. (i.e. the bathroom looked pretty good but the bedspread looked like it was from the 80s) The hotel is within a short drive of several great places to eat. It was a great place to stay to visit hot creek, Mono Lake, and hike in the mountains surrounding Mammoth […] Lakes. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"OK for the price"
Not a bad place. The room was clean and bright, but the bedding was old and stained and the Pillows were flat. The temperature was hard to control and the heater blower ran all the time. Their breakfast was poorly done and their was no place to set.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Affordable ski accomodations"
The hotel is old. The heater is very noisy, but it works and does provide heat when needed. The walkways, wood, are old and worn. The plus is, bed was comfortable, micro wave oven and fridge, and many pegs to hang ski clothes and skis on. Also a table and 2 chairs. Still cannot understand why Mammoth Lakes gets Reno local stations. Reno is in Nevada […] and generally has nothing to do with the Los Angeles ares, where most visitors come from. All that needs to be done is for Direct or Dish to push a button and Mammoth would get local L.A. stations. Really, it's called satellite for a reason. It's very typical of a lot of Mammoth Lakes. Over half of the hotels and older buildings should be buldozed down and rebuilt to 'catch' up to modern times. That said, it was affordable which is hard to find at any major ski resort. The family that runs this hotel are very friendly and helpful, people people. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Is what it is."
Not a bad place for the price. The two queen room was rather large. Could have slept 8 in that room. No very clean, heater took quite a while to heat the room. Was a great place for people going on a boarding trip not needing a high quality place.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not what it seems"
I was really hoping to hit the jacuzzi after a long day of snow boarding in Mammoth, but guess what? No jacuzzi!! The jacuzzi was out of service and not available as advertised. I would have rather have paid a couple of bucks more and gotten a much more comfortable mattress and facilities that worked. Also, my early morning wake up call never happened […] either. The staff were really nice however. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Econolodge Mammoth Lakes"
This is a place to stay for those who are on a budget (with the cost of a lift ticket, you want to save where you can). The hotel is on the low end for price and quality: furniture is cheap, some rooms have peeling paint, and the coffee makers look like they're 30 years old. But if you're looking for a place that does the trick for a low price, this […] is it. On my recent visit, I requested a (queen bed) room on the 2nd floor facing Main St. These rooms get better light, have a view to the mountains, are roomier, and aren't affected by activity from the rest of the hotel. (The hotel is set back from the main drag, so there's not a lot of street noise.) When I entered my room - one of the corner rooms with windows on two sides - I got a strong odor that seemed like the smell of new paint or carpet, or some unpleasant spray. Kenny at the front desk didn't know what it was, but said he could get me another room elsewhere in the hotel immediately, or a room in the front the next day. I decided to suffer for one day in the smelly room and moved the next day into an unsmelly, even-roomier King room. Kenny has always been extremely friendly and helpful, and gives good advice regarding the mountain and nearby dining. The spa gets hot quickly and is not a bad place to hang out. Breakfast is low-end: donuts you'd get in a box at the supermarket, machine-served juices and hot cocoa, plus cereal and oatmeal. Basic, but perfectly edible. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"econo lodge wildwood inn. mammoth mt."
An older inn, close to the village (walking distance). Easy in and easy out. Great value if that's your concern. Most hotels/motels are somewhat noisy and you might not sleep your best, but you can sleep when you back in your own bed. Thanks to whoever left my wife the Dos XX in the fridge, she loved it (I always drink and When I drink I prefer Coors […] Light). "Decent location"
A good place to stay for the weekend. It's a motel not a 4 or 5 star place so don't expect any luxuries. Room was clean, only stains in the carpet maybe because it's a pet friendly place, bring your flip flops. Location is great since there is a shuttle stop right in front of the property. "Econo Lodge - Wildwood Inn Mammoth Lakes, CA"
This is a "cheap" hotel, so my expectations should not be too high, but the shower drain was clogged. They fixed it immediately. Not enough towels, although they weren't bad. The hair dryer didn't work, but they were quick to come and replace it. The bed had seen some use, although it wasn't terrible. The room was so cramped I had to leave just to change […] - my mind(ha). The neighborhood was nice to walk in. The hot tub was dirty, and the pool, well, it was green and closed. This was the cheapest place I could find to stay in Mammoth; I have seen worse and expect to see more in Europe when I go shortly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Stayed here after a long road trip through Death Valley so just a place to shower and sleep really. Room a bit smelly. Breakfast taken in the amall reception area, not much seating. "Room for improvement"
We needed a place to stay for the night while passing through and Econo Lodge was the best offer for the price in Mammouth Lakes. The best thing to say about the hotel was that the staff was very friendly and eager to help. The main problem for was that a stain on our sheets that hadn't been discovered by the staff when preparing the room. When we […] told the front desk about it they got it fixed. Also there was a dirty plastic cup among the clean ones that hadn't been discovered during cleaning. Apart from these two mistakes the room was okay. Off course the stained sheets and the dirty glass are big mistakes, but also things that the hotel could easily do something about in their cleaning procedures. I hope the hotel will consider this, as it would greatly improve the experience of staying there. The breakfast consisted of pastries and cereals in the hotel lobby. The pastries were fairly good, but very basic breakfast in general. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
