"Loved it!!"

"No control of heat/AC."
The temperature of the guest rooms is not controllable via a simple thermostat. Hotel maint. selects heat or A/C by the calendar. So, if there is an autumn heat wave, or spring freeze, the hotel guests suffer accordingly. In addition, the only way for guests to control the room temperature is via the on/off switch - there is no thermostat. If the room […] gets too hot/cold during the night, you're expected to get out of bed to turn the system on or off until the temp. goes too far the other way. The electric room thermostat was invented by Warren S. Johnson in 1883 - the Schooner Inn should upgrade their environmental control system to the 21st century. "Not a Good Hotel Stay"
My first stay here a couple months ago was decent. It was basically what I expected. My most recent stay, however, was just awful. First of all, my room was not clean. There were black hairs all over the bathroom. The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a good long time. Just in general, I felt pretty gross staying in this room. I kept my […] socks on while I was in the room and checked all the towels and bedding thoroughly before using them. The TV in my room was cheap and only worked half the time. They clearly don't spend a lot of money replacing items in rooms. The worst part was, they stuck me in a room next to some jerk who had his TV turned all the way up the entire time, he yelled and hollered constantly, and he slammed his door every time he walked in and out of his room and balcony. It was off-season, and there were about 6 whole cars in the parking lot, and yet they stuck me in a room right next door to someone. I had to call down to the lobby and complain about this person constantly. The second night, I was so fed up, I asked for another room, but the girl at the front desk refused to move me. "Enjoyed my Stay!"
Great location, on the south end of Virginia Beach. My room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. "Better than 2 star"
Nice room, grat view. We had a mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and 2 burner stove, plus plates, glasses, etc. Some rooms have whirlpool tubs. we had to stay another day and they gave us the same rate.
