Fantastic Hotel for the $$. Very clean and spacious rooms. Staff was also very friendly. Was surprised by the resort feel of the inner courtyard pools - was a nice haven w/in the hotel area. We were very pleased with the hotel. The room was exceptional and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. Everyone that we came in contact with was friendly and helpful My only cause for a below expectation ratings was the fact that there was only 1/2 roll of toilet paper in the bathroom with no extra rolls to be found (really bad timing to discover […] that one). We stayed in the hotel for four nights and only received maid service on one of those days. We had to call the front desk for towels and we had to walk to the front desk to get coffee and supplies. Despite these complaints I would still stay in this facility again because of its location to the Boardwalk, it's beautiful landscaping and pools and the friendly staff. Read more

This hotel was very beautiful! The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked. The view from our balcony of the courtyard was very nice. Parking was excellent. We've stayed other places in Va Beach and the parking garages were cramped... not at Turtle Cay. Overall, we loved the resort and would stay again.

We really liked the room, but the door kept sticking and it was hard to get it to open. Also, when we got up to take showers, there wasn't enough hot water left after just one of us had showered. Not pleased with a cold shower, especially in the winter time. Other than this, we enjoyed our stay here. The hotel itself was wonderful even with the threat of Hurricane Sandy. The only complaint that we had was that our hotel room was enter into by hotel staff when we weren't in the room to know about it. We left for ten minutes to see the ocean and we come back to having the table and chairs played back into our room from the balcony. We were not sure what to expect arriving at the hotel because online pictures are often deceiving. We are a family of four with two small children. The hotel was everything that I hoped it would be. It was classy, clean and very family friendly. The room that we had was just right with a kitchenette and large bathroom. The pool area was our favorite! […] There were a few pools but the one we always went to was one were the kids could just walk right in and it didn't go any deeper than 3 feet. The kids loved it! The only negative thing I would have to say is that you can pretty much hear everything going on in the next room. There is a door between the rooms that allows for this. The room was super nice and definitely comforting. When you first walk in there is the bed with a tv including a dvd player. We arrived early on a Monday after a weekend the hotel was booked, and they were still able to accommodate our early check-in. The hotel is easy to park under, check-in was quick. With only one street separating the beach and us, it took us no time to have our toes in the sand. Our experience was great, if you had the sightest problem in your room, the staff was there in five minutes to attend to the problem. Our refridgerator was freezing everything, it took them 15 minutes to fix it right then and there. The washer and dryer inside the suite was great. The fireplace made the cool evenings so lovely. They are constantly upgrading […] this place. Brand new mattresses were being put into the rooms while we were there - only while you were in the room. It took them less than ten minutes to remove the old mattress, replace with the new and make your bed with clean sheets and bedding. I love this place! Read more

We stayed at Turtle Cay for the Shamrock Marathon Weekend. Overall, we loved it. The room was great and the pool areas were fabulous. The only problem we encountered was when we arrived. We arrived a couple hours before check-in, stopped at the desk and inquired at the desk about an early check-in. 3 of us stayed in a king suite for the shamrock marathon. The bedroom was facing a busy road and loud at night so difficult to sleep without ear plugs. The pull out queen mattress in the living room was worse than the floor except our room was invaded by ants so walking on the carpet barefoot was scary, let alone sleeping on it. It was really too much […] to deal with before running a marathon :( we were able to move rooms our last night since spraying the ants the first night didn't work. The walls are paper thin. You could hear your neighbor's conversations and know when they were using the bathroom. The room was outdated, the couch had tears in it and the pullout mattress was disgusting. The layout of the hotel is not convenient at all unless your room is located near the one elevator. The first night was not good because we could hear all of the outside noise which made it very difficult to sleep. When we requested to change rooms the staff was very accomodating. The second room was great and we were able to rest and enjoy the balcony overlooking their beautiful pool. I would definitely stay there again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Turtle Cay Hotel. The rooms were really nice, roomy and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. We didn't get to use the pool area but it looked like a Hawaiian paradise. Right across the street is Chix Restaurant and Mahi Mah's both have exceptional food. This resort is in a good location and has a great pool. However, if your room is on the first floor the traffic noise from Pacific Ave is very loud. Its hard to get a good nights sleep when it sounds like you are sleeping in the middle of a busy highway. We were there in Nov., with much less traffic than at the height of the summer and the noise was […] loud. There is no sound proofing at all. The bathroom was large but there was no counter space. Just a sink hanging off the wall. We had no place to put even a toothbrush and toothpaste. Just a lot of wasted space. The room had no seating other than the 2 chairs at the small dining table. Any more than two guests and you had to sit on the beds. I travel to Va Beach often. In the future I will stay farther from the beach at a hotel like the Founders Inn. The furniture needs to be replaced or updated. The cushions on the chair and sofa in the King Suite room were wore out and need replacing (room 104). Had a minor problem with the shower door, however, it was addressed immediately by the condo staff. Otherwise, it was terrific! I always enjoy staying a the Turtle Cay Resort/Condo/timeshares. I was disappointed […] that I was not included in the timeshare openhouse at their new facility on the beachfront because I was single and not married. After checking in, and being disappointed by seeing the pretty place Turtle Cay has for their timeshare guests across the street on the beach, we were taken to our room which overlooked a busy street. Not the pretty rooms facing the pool or with the fireplaces. Our room smelled overwhelmingly of bleach. I am a clean person, but it was too much for me […] and we had to leave the door open for awhile to air it out. The buttons on the phone were broken as was the alarm clock, but lucky for us, our phones have an alarm feature. We both slept poorly that night due to constant traffic noise and a ventilation system that cycled all night. The next night was better, as we bought earplugs. Although the room was clean when we came, there was no housekeeping service during our stay. Didn't realize how far the hotel was from the 8k and marathon starting lines. I wouldn't recommend staying at Turtle Cay for this unless you enjoy hunting for a place to park . Wouldn't recommend it anyway. I am disappointed in our choice of hotels, and what disappoints me most is that we wasted a free night from hotels.com on this place! Read more
