Great, except I was disappointed they removed both the hot tub in the pool area and the jacuzzi tubs in the rooms. Lots of rennovations going on, the lobby was a wreck. Me and my boyfriend had a great experience at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. It was our first vacation together and we had an awesome time. We were not that far from the beach and other exciting adventures. "Not as expected"

I have a very uncomfortable stay. The room and hall way had a terrible smell. There were no windows so there was no way to get fresh air in the hotel. "Crowne Plaza - NEAR VA Beach"
The hotel is nice - clean, comfortable, decent indoor pool and hot tub. Service was fine - no complaints. The location is about 15 or so minutes to the beaches. The hotel is right next to I-64, which takes you all the way there, so access is fine. The surrounding area around the hotel is basically a bunch of large strip malls - big box stores and lots of retail along VA Beach Blvd. You can find typical chain restaurants and coffee shops if that's what you're looking for. It's a car-dominated area - not walkable like it is near the beach. All in all, this a nice hotel with decent room prices.
