Baker's Sunset Bay Resort offers an indoor pool area with 2 waterslides, a hot tub, and a sauna, outdoor pool, outdoor children's activity pool and wading area, access to our private beach, beach activities such as volleyball, badminton, ping pong, horseshoes, and tetherball, nightly bonfires, free rowboats and kayaks, picnic tables and grills, arcade/game room, complimentary wireless internet, and complimentary coffee.

"Nice place, but some disappointments"
The hotel is nice, clean and has many nice features. Although I recommend it, I do it with reservations, because they allow dogs, I wish they had a specified area of rooms for families with dogs. We had a pit bull next door that the people left locked in the room and barked for hours and we had to call and complain twice. My husband walked out of our […] room and the dog was in the hallway with the owner and starting growling at my husband. That is something we don't need on vacation. We don't mind dogs, we've even had dogs, but if people are taking their pets on vacation they should take the pet along wherever they go. Also we could smell the flea/tick insecticide that had been sprayed in the hallways. I guess it is good that they spray, but it was noticeable. We will probably not stay there again because of the dog problem. We did like the rooms indoor pool, whirlpool, the 24 hr outdoor pool, free row boats and kayaks and fire pit. They also had a security guard at night which was nice to have, but somewhat unnecessary. We also put our sign out for the maid on our second and third day and the maid never came. So I stopped at the front desk and got a roll of toilet paper and some towels. The maids were there cleaning rooms in the morning but we slept late and thought she would come later, but that didn't happen. So we will probably stay at another place next time. Our family held our reunion at Sunset Bay. There were about 30 people over a four day period. The entire hotel staff effectively handled every request. The whole experience was great. "Not to be recommended"
When we first entered the room, we were hit by a very strong deodorizer. We opened the sliding door to air it out, and then found the plug-in deodorizer that was causing the smell. We called the front desk, and their response was to air out the room. I set the plug-in outside. The next smell was cat urine which is why they had the plug in. "Family friendly, lots to do, so-so room"
I travelled there with my boyfriend and we loved the amenities available. They had an indoor and outdoor pool that were both in great condition, as well as kayacks and rowboats available on a private beach. There was only one rowboat that was trustworthy, but it was free to use. They also have a firepit with nightly bonfires, lots of grills to cook […] out, and family seating areas. Easy access to the downtown area and water parks, which were the main reason we were there. The room was not overly cleaned. We accidently tracked sand into our room, which is understandable as they have their own lakeside beach, and it wasn't vacuumed during our entire stay, despite a sign sayin that they vacuumed daily. The green blanket on the bed had holes in it, and they didn't use fitted sheets on the bottom, and I hate sleeping directly on the matress. They also did not replenish shampoo/soap and in room coffee. The rooms did have a full fridge, freezer, kitchen sink, and stove top with dishes provided. We were looking for a dog-friendly hotel to stay for 4 nights of our 10 years old son Spring Vacation. We found this hotel, and that was a blessing. It was clean, smelled fresh in spite of dogs welcome policy; the swimming pool area was clean and fun to be with. They have a beach with kayaks and raw boats to use - that was fun, too. On the beach they […] have ping-pong table, children playground, fire pit - very well built one, beach volleyball net, and lots more free outdoor activities. The dogs are allowed in only one small wing of the hotel, the rest of it - three buildings, are pet free. They have a small cottage on the property, that can be rented as well for $150 a night - excellent for a big family with the dog. They have free coffee and tea station in the office, besides coffee makers in each room. The location is something to wish for, on the waterfront of Lake Delton, and surrounded by quiet woody resorts. Very peaceful. Although this hotel is not in downtown of Wis. Dells, still everything is within 2-3 miles. It is a small clean hotel that is managed very nicely. The staff if friendly and helpful. The only my wish was - that they would have a gym or a treadmill for workouts. So we are the family of three, were very happy with this stay, and are planning to come back this summer! Oh, one more thing that we didn't like: they do not lock all the doors for the night. They lock only front door and pool door, while three side doors stay opened through the night. Knowing that my room door was right next to the side door that was unlocked all night, made me extremely uncomfortable. Sunset Bay didn't impress us. We had a lakefront room, and the view was great. However, it took THREE room changes before we were given a room which had been cleaned. The Hotel was ok. We like the view of the Lake. It was to cold to enjoy it. When we got there we went on the patio to look at the lake and flies came back into the room with us. "AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL"
So when we pulled into the hotel (which was under construction) we drove up to the office and there was an envelope taped to the window with our name and on it. We opened it up and found our room key and room number with all of our information on it for our room. The office was apparently "closed" becuase it was Superbowl Sunday. So anyone could have […] pulled up to the hotel saw the envelope and helped themselves to the room I booked. Now I understand it was the off season for the Dells but then close your hotel for the season or make Superbowl Sunday a black out date. I was completely appalled at the fact that they would just leave our information out for anyone to take. The room was DISGUSTINGLY dirty and was in a huge need of a facelift. The balcony was so covered in ice that you couldn't even take one step on it without falling or slipping. The fridge wasn't working but who could I call to take care of it: NO ONE! There were no hours posted saying the pool closed at 10pm (which is a question I would have loved to ask when we checked in, but oops the office was closed!). So when we got back to the hotel to attempt to enjoy ourselves in the pool the very rude very mean "security" wouldn't let us in the pool. We will NEVER stay here again and would highly discourage anyone from staying here. This is the absolute WORST hotel have ever stayed in. This kind of a hotel does not belong in the Dells! "Management refuses to get involved while partiers take over."
At 11:00 pm tried to sleep as party kicked off right below our room. It was so loud the walls vibrated. Desk said they couldn't do anything but admitted the hotel never should have booked rooms on our floor. The party hosts ended up paying our refund so we could go find another hotel at midnight. This is the perfect lakefront spot for families on a casual vacation. The small beach area gives kids freedom to enjoy their sand creations and even find seashells planted by the staff on occasion (thank you!).
