There was mold at the top of the shower, to much chlorine in the pool, the pool was filthy, the floors were dirty, more breakfast options and the bed sheets and blankets had stains on them. I won't stay there again.

I booked 4 rooms for family members, including several children, who were looking forward to swimming. When we arrived, we found out that the pool had been closed for quite awhile. Requested a single bed....non-smoking room. Received a 2 double smelled like an ashtray room. Toilet seat in the room was covered with pubic hair and urine. Also - seems they have lots of 'regulars' who like to hang out in the parking lot and close to entrances. Can be very intimidating. However, when I did complain about my room, the owner came to […] be and offered to switch me to 'his room'....(which was already occupied by another guest). I did get 'upgraded'....and while the 2nd room was also not 'CLEAN'..it didn't smell like an ashtray....and there was no visible pubic hairs/urine. I found out that their 'daily cleaning' consists of picking up used towels (some of them) and putting new ones in the room. No sheet changes...or actual CLEANING. I read all the reviews before I booked and I decided to give it a try. I had a very good experience. It must really depend on the day you go, the people that are working there that day, etc, etc. because I've read horrible reviews and good ones. I have nothing bad to say about this place except for that the pool was small and looked a little dirty. […] We did not use it. We did not go to the breakfast either. The beds were comfy and the room was great! The air conditioner was a little loud, but I like white noise. The only con is that the room was not air conditioned when we got there at 11pm and it was very very hot, so it took a few hours for it to cool down. The hallways were not air conditioned either. It was a great value for the money. We just used it to crash before we had to drive more the next day. There were 5 of us in the room. 3 Queen beds rocked! So, I can't guarantee you'll have a good experience like we did, but I can't say you'll have a bad one either. Good luck!~ Read more

The property is in desperate need of repair and improvement. I believe the property was once two national chain properties that were purchased and combined into one property. Still sporting the ugly decades old bed spreads that are never cleaned, this property is in a sad state of disrepair. The cable/satellite was not working (only 4 working channels […] and no HBO as advertised), carpet is tired and worn, water temperature is erratic, and beds lack a fitted sheet. It is never a good sign when the customer pulls up to see a large sign advertising rooms starting at less than half of what was advertised (and paid) online. I make this review that Relax Inn was lesser expensive. Upon arrival, I found the front desk empty (not a totally uncommon experience) with a sign stating that the hotel was currently "Out of Cable". When someone did come to the desk (wearing a casual, sleeveless...kinda tank top...shirt) to check me in. In the process, I asked about the cable and was […] told that it was out leaving only 3 channels (local). I asked if there was a reduction in cost b/c of the inconvenience. The response was, "All I can tell you is that you don't have to stay here." I was taken back. I had made the reservation with cable tv listed as an amenity. I said, "I am already away from home...I would stay." The clerk turned to her computer and with her trainee standing behind her said, "Wow". I asked if there was an issue...she said no...I said, Oh because I heard you say under your breath "Wow". She confirmed that she had and went on with checking me in. The trainee apologized and said it was HER first day. We got to the room and it was hot. We guess it to have been 85+ degrees...we turned the air on full blast and after unpacking and sweating we left for dinner. Two hours later we came back and the room was still warm. It took the air conditioner all night to bring the room to comfortable temp. The floors left our feet black. I had never been more disappointed or disgusted by a hotel. Will never stay at this location again, and will probably avoid the chain as whole. Worst customer service too! Read more

They have done some remodeling at Relax Inn since our last visit. We had 5 people in our travel group, so one room with 3 double beds, microwave and refrigerator worked out well. Our room was on the second floor and accessible by stairs. The room was clean and well maintained, but the water pressure was very weak. We paid for 5 guests and they only […] stocked towels for 3 guests. Some of the desk people cheerfully gave us extras on request, one person seemed reluctant to allow us to each have a towel. There was a very minimal free breakfast included: two choices of cereal, bagel, cream cheese, individually packaged cinnamon rolls and muffins, milk, coffee and Sunny D. Although the choices were limited, they kept the food area stocked. during breakfast hours. On the positive side, there was a Waffle House across the parking lot; Subway, McD and Burger King across the road, and two gas stations with convenience stores visible from the hotel. The hotel is an easy drive (maybe 15 minutes) from the Hoosier Horse Park or Camp Atterbury. The pool was functioning when we were there. I consider this a reasonably priced, basic place to sleep and will probably return when I have an event in this area and have 5 people in my group. Read more

We refused to stay due to the filth of the lobby, halls, stairwells and rooms. Old, unused AC and microwaves were stacked along the wall in the lobby, windows were dirty, and the staff was very unprofessional. A gentleman working at the desk was 'wearing a gun' which led us to believe the hotel to be as unsafe as it appeared from the weekly residents […] wandering the tiny lobby. Dogs and cats are welcome, and from all evidence they do make themselves at home! Well, when we first entered, the first thing we saw was the manager (?) walk by with a gun in a holster on his belt. That was a bit un-nerving. Was it a sign that they have a lot of trouble there? We have a large family, so we needed to get two rooms. We requested non-smoking rooms. Some of my kids are allergic to smoke. Well the hall to our rooms reeked […] of smoke. We entered the first of our rooms, and it was just as bad. The second room didn't stink though, so we just all stayed in that one. We had planned to all stay in one room anyway (its my husband and I and five kids 5,6,7,8, & 9), so it worked out ok. Our kids are young enough that sleeping on the floor is still considered fun for them. The pool was our highlight. We had it all to ourselves, which was good because it is pretty small. Not at all what was advertised. The hotel missed our morning wake up call. When we asked for a comment card the 3rd shift attendant ripped a scrap piece of paper and handed it to me. Not the service, facilities, or quality I receive at other hotels with the same rating. We would actively recommend against this hotel.

the "non-smoking" room smelled of very old cigarettes. The pool was out of order. The breakfast was stale frootloops and raisin bran, Sunny D, warm milk and small packaged muffins.....very dry muffins. The help was fine for what they had to work with but, I wouldn't send anyone to this place.

This was by far the worst hotel experience ever. A staff person was standing IN FRONT of their entrance SMOKING. When I checked in, I was asked to sign a piece of paper. When I questioned what it was she immediately put her hand over the top printed part (apparently the rate Expeida was paying them) and said, "You can't see that! Just sign it. It says […] you were here." As I walked down the hallway it was very clear that this was a smoking hotel even though I booked a NON SMOKING room. It reeked of stale smoke. I think I should have at this point just left, but I didn't have time for the hassle & told myself that it was just one night. I was also alone and feared any confrontation. When I got to the room, it seemed clean enough at first (however dated). Then I found stains on the lid of the toilet that grossed me out. There were also stains on the sheets that were obviously set in. It was 80 degrees in Franklin during my stay so I turned on the air conditioner. The room immediately smelled like smoke. When I tried to get on to the internet with my laptop I found I only had ONE BAR in the room and could not get on the internet at all. After a horrible night with people yelling in the hallway at all hours, I awoke to an electric tool of some sort outside my window. All I needed for my stay was a clean bed and internet. I didn't get either! I didn't even TRY to eat breakfast there after I saw how they cared for things. All I wanted to do was get the heck out of there. Read more
