"More positives than negatives......"
Location to baseball fields (we were there for a tournament) was convenient. Beds were comfortable, and it's apparent they are making improvements. The granite countertops on the vanity were nice, and the live bamboo in a vase added a pleasant touch. The lobby area where the breakfast was served was quite small, but the front desk staff was super nice […] and accomodating. Unfortunately, the "adult" stores on either side lent a seedy feel to the neighborhood, and our comforters were in need of replacement (cigarrete burn holes - in a non-smoking hotel?) We were in town for a soccer tournament - hotel worked great for our needs. Hotel was centrally located for events on the east side of Portland. New paint and carpet, recently renovated bathrooms. "A quiet, comfy stay with the right price."
My roommate and I decided last minute to head to Portland for a quick little vacation to visit some old friends who were traveling through the area. We booked this room less then 24 hours before check-in and the price was great. It's down in Clackamas so it's a tiny bit out of the way from the heart of Portland, but we had no trouble getting to and […] from the property. It's right off of I-205, and on OR-224 which we took back to US-26 to head home. The front desk clerk was extremely friendly and helpful, and the lobby was quaint and well decorated. The room was cozy and the bed was comfy, it even had a mini fridge where we stored our leftovers from our large dinner. If I were staying for just a night or two I would definitely stay here again. However, if you're looking for something close to the airport or Portland itself, then you may want to look elsewhere, or be prepared to drive an extra 10-15 minutes (without traffic) to your destination. While a little older, this is a well kept up property in a convenient location. It's within walking distance of several shopping centers. The beds in the room are very comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. There were a couple of homeless guys outside the hotel looking for money the first night but you'll find that is a common thing in Portland […] and not unique to this area. for an older property the rooms were renovated nicely and clean. Liked having a separate sink next to the microwave & fridge. I stayed on top floor towards the back since older hotels can have sound issues-pretty quiet on the second floor-little tricky getting out of driveway due to busy traffic and proximity to a busy intersection. "We would stay here again, but..."
Overall, our experience was fine. The hotel was good for the price we paid. Our room was spacious and clean, however the bottom floor of the hotel was a little run down, especially in the hallway and elevator. The beds were very comfortable, however the pillows on both beds were horrible. We usually bring our own and were kicking ourselves for not doing […] it this time. They were so thick that we had a difficult time sleeping. There were also several annoying little lights that made sleep a challenge. The free breakfast was barely ok. They had a waffle maker, which was fine for people who like waffles. I'm not a big waffle fan, so I went for the biscuits & gravy which was a huge mistake. I think it must have come out of a can. Unfortunately, there was no fresh fruit. I did like that there is hot coffee 24 hours a day & we did take advantage of that perk. All in all, we would stay here again.
