Can't beat this hotel for convenience to JMU. We walked to the football game. However, both nights we had difficulties parking because the lot was full. My daughter and I were told to park at the nearby bookstore after 11 pm at night. Night manager said he couldn't guarantee we wouldn't be towed! (That happens a lot in Harrisonburg!) He didn't seem […] the least bit concerned that the 2 of us would be walking a ways by ourselves in the dark. The next night, a different manager gave us a pass for that bookstore lot. This was convenient for what we were doing. Way over priced. Hotel in need of major updating. Mattresses needed to be tossed. Room smelled like musty smoke. Room however was very clean. My family with 4 small children stayed for 2 nights in two rooms. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and accomodating. The pool was nice and the continental breakfast was good. Our only disappointment was that we requested adjoining rooms, but the hotel doesn't have adjoining rooms in the category that we booked on Expedia -- of course we […] didn't know that until we got there. If we would have known we would have booked a category that had adjoining rooms. The hotel staff would have been happy to change our rooms, but they didn't have any adjoining rooms available at that point.
