"Our overnight stay at comfort inn"

We got there early (11:30 am) because we needed to be at a graduation at 1:00 pm. The parking lot was deserted but there was no way we could check into a room. It seemed that there must have been a room available but the lady at the front desk wouldn't waive the check in time. The elevator makes a scary noise for what seems a newer hotel. We were afraid […] we were going to get stuck in it. You can only enter the hotel going south on Route 1 and that is inconvenient. The room was perfectly fine and clean and the desk clerk very friendly, but didn't tell us that the breakfast that was included, was only from 6-9 am, so we missed that. There were also no signs in the lobby that indicated the breakfast hours, which was kind of strange. The indoor pool looked very cloudy, so we skipped that. "Not great, just O.K."
We knew it wouldn't be overly convenient from downtown Portland where we were visiting relatives so that wasn't a big issue, however, the staff wasn't overly friendly and the lady at the desk in the early morning barely said hello. There was no staff present at night at the desk as we came and went which was weird. The room didn't look well vacuumed […] and the bed skirt was really wrinkled so we were hoping the bed sheets were clean! They were thankfully. "Dirt, cobwebs, and smoke inhilation"
Was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. The room was in desperate need of a good vacuuming and cobwebbing. Also, all the staff smoked directly outside the main entrance. This meant you had to walk through a cloud of smoke every time you entered the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very convenient to all major attractions."
I was very upset with my stay at Comfort Inn and Suites because I had requested a refrigerator in my room when I booked it through the hotels.com website, however when I got there and checked in, there was no refrigerator so I went to the front desk to straighten it out, I was told that there were no rooms available that had refrigerators and after […] about 20-30 minutes I was moved into a room that had a refrigerator. This should not have happened because the ad for the hotel said that all standard rooms had refrigerators and if that is not the case then it shouldn't be listed on the website. "Looks Good on the Surface but..."
The hotel is new and appears generally well maintained. Stayed in late March and the hotel was very cold even though night time temperatures were above freezing. The temperature control on the room heating system also did not work very well; with just a 1 degree change in the thermostat would cause the room to go from very cold to hot. Finding a comfortable […] setting was impossible. The room appeared to be clean but I did find a couple of ants in the bathroom. Wouldn't want to see what it's like in the summer. The free hot breakfast that comes with the room better be free as it would be a crime to charge for it. The also stop replenishing during the last hour so the pickings can get pretty slim. I book a room close to home during school vacation so that we can enjoy a "mini" vacation of sorts. My 5 yr. old loves to swim, so when booking a place I make sure it has a pool. The actual room was okay (just need a clean place to sleep), but not spectacular (for the $ I spent, not unreasonable). The bathroom didn't have a vent fan so when the bathroom was used the entire room stunk up. Their waffle maker at the continental breakfast is their bread and butter, it was dirty and didn't work well. The checkout guy was a jerk. "Could have been better with small fixes"
We were not happy about having our air conditioning turned off by housekeeping. It was an extremely warm day, and we came back to a very uncomfortable warm room. Also, the shower head was broken in the pool area, water just squirted out everywhere. I did not want to get wet, I only wanted to rinse off my son, and I ended up very wet in the process. […] There was also no clock in the pool area, so it was hard to tell what time it was in regards to the pool closing in the evening.
