Naniloa Volcanoes Resort

This hotel was great. We wanted to spend a few nights in Hilo, to use it as a base to see the Botanical gardens, Akaka Falls, Volcanoes national park, and Wapio Valley. It was perfectly located. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Room was very well maintained, and so were the lobby spaces. Great harbor view, close to parks and other restaurants. […] The only negative, was that it was almost empty; it seems like not many people stay in Hilo, so only a few rooms of this massive complex were occupied. Grand hotel past it's prime. Undergoing repairs, elevators in poor condition with graffiti. Minimal complementary continental breakfast. Room was good except for tv reception.

The hotel was in a good location, however the entire hotel was in very bad shape: the elevators didn't work which was terrible if you're on an upper level, the AC and lights didn't work in our room, the whole place was unfinished as far as maintenance and renovations go. We had to pay to use their microwave too. Would probably suggest passing on this […] one unless they get things cleaned up. Read more

Continental breakfast was a joke, just wanted to gouge you for mediocre, limited selection meal. Maintenance was in process on the building. Hotel was easy to find, close to attractions, and had a nice room with great view.

The room was spotless. No hair, dust, lint. No odor. Even the outside lanai was clean. Very good for allergy sufferers. Has minimal cloth in the room. Beautiful view. Quiet location. Many Hotel renovations but the room was beautiful. TV barely gets reception. This has not changed in 4 years. Who needs a TV? Was a great get away.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us Great recommendations on where to eat. Now, we visited three of the hawaiian islands and stayed in 4 hotels on our trip. This was the ONLY place that actually gave us good dining advice. Everyone else didn't want to tell us where the locals eat, only where they advertise. So I'll give them that. The […] hotel itself appears as though it's in need of a good renovation. In fact, they appear to be in the middle of fixing some areas of the hotel, but it appears stalled. Although it is on the water, there is no beach. It's too far to walk to downtown Hilo, you need to drive. However, after looking around, there doesn't appear to be much better prospects. And if you visit Volcanoes National Park from Kona, you're looking at a 2 hour drive, at least. So if you're gonna stay in Hilo, I'd probably recommend this. Read more

The hotel seemed to be very austere. All stone tile floors are easier to keep clean, but not very acoustical. Noise reverberates easily. The hotel seemed to be only 10-15% full and the staff was not willing to negotiate a small rate difference in the room rate when we extended our stay by one day. okay so this place looks like it is old and in a run down area, once entering it looks like a toilet overflowed on the place, needing some repairs and cleaning and some loving, elevators look used and abused, the place seems sketchy. entering the hallway on 8th floor walking towards oceanfront room things start to look better but still very cold. but […] then when the corner room opened up and the clean tiles and the bright sunny full 2 wall floor to ceiling windows with nice bathroom and linens you wonder how you found this gem of a room in this hole. so if you can get to your room you will be fine. other notes, tv so high you can break your neck watching it but who need tv on vacation. fridge not plugged in yet closed so very musty smelling. nice balcony. this place could be awesome with some loving Read more

ナニロア・ホテルには、もう何度か宿泊しています。 Castel Hilo Hawaiian Hotelと同様　お気に入りのホテルの一つです。 今は、経営者が変わり、現在リノベーション中です。 部屋の床が、フローリングのため音が響きます。 長中期の滞在には、お手ごろ価格だと思います。 お部屋には電子レンジが付いていて、いろいろに使えて便利です。 なんといっても、ナニロア・ホテルのお庭からの眺望が素敵です。 マウナケアを背景にして、芝生の庭から眺める海が空まで続き、とてもゆったりとした気分が味わえます。 お勧めのホテルです。
