We spent four nights there and we were really satisfied, of course it is not a five star hotel but it's totally fine to spend a few nights there!!! the service is awesome, they even organised a private tour with an hawaiian family for us! "Uncle Billy's Hilo - don't go here, ever!"
The stay started out with us being told that the room we reserved and paid for was not available and there was only one room left in the entire hotel. We settled for that and went to our room. Upon inspection of the horrible looking room as it was, we also found mouse droppings on the pull out couch, in the bathtub, and on the main bed. This was the […] worst room we have ever seen in our entire life. The hotel was dirty, staff not helpful, and the place just sucked. I would never in a million years recommend anyone stay here. If you have to pay twice as much to stay elsewhere, do it. If nothing else is available drive to the next town. Never, ever, ever, stay here. Stay at the Hilo Hawaiian next door. We left in a hurry. I had a great experience at Uncle Billy's. It was in a great location, right on the water. The building was a bit older and so was the room, but it was clean and to be honest sometimes you want to stay in a hotel that has a unique character, not just some generic place. L'hôtel est bon marché, il ne faut donc pas s'attendre à un standing très poussé, mais l'accueil est tout à fait correct. Le personnel est sympathique, le petit déjeuner est compris et plutôt bon, les chambres sont propres et la vue sur la mer est très sympa.
