"nice hotel, yet was disappointed by my room"
My friends and I spent the weekend at Comfort Suites for a get away at Hershey park. My friend and I spent two evenings, one of which I spent on the pull out couch in my friends room. The pull out bed was highly uncomfortable which resulted in me bearly sleeping. On the second night I checked into my own room. I was informed of my registered room number […] on Saturday morning, yet was I told that I could not formally check in till the current customers checked out, which I fully understood. When I came back from the park that evening and checked in I was informed that I was in a different room. When I got to the room I found that it smelled overwhelmingly of stale smoke. In addition, it appeared that they tried to cover the scent with some type of spray that was just terrible. When I complained I was informed that there were no other king sized bed rooms and was directed to turn on the exhaust fan to alleviate the smell. I was disappointed by this as the hotel boasts a breath friendly environment. Also, I was not even given an option to possibly stay in a different room without a king sized bed. "THE HUMMELSTOWN CAPER"
Apparently, there are two Comfort Suites and/or Inns in Hummelstown. Therefore, it is very easy to phone the incorrect one. Since both hotels offer different services, we got different answers. The front desk person at the hotel we reserved was very aloof and even gave us incorrect information. As a result, our stay became uneventful. Our accommodations […] were excellent but the reasons we came were a total wash. These two hotels need to figure out a way to distinguish themselves from one another. Online one is Hershey and one is Hummelstown...but when you phone, they are both considered Hummelstown apparently! We treated our friends to this mess and we were all very very disappointed. This was to bring a little Christmas joy to people who have lost soooo much in the flood in Williamsport, PA...How sad!! Manager said we could just enjoy talking and spending time with one another...With the price of gas and lack of any Sweet Lights or Candylane...we could have simply done a visit by Skype. So much for the Christmas cheer that the other hotel indicated was available, including procurring tickets from the hotel...well, from THEIR hotel....WHAT A MESS! So although this is a lovely hotel, front desk people need to figure out how to make sure you are speaking with the correct COMFORT Inn/Suites....to ensure this doesn't happen again to one of their guests. "Comfort Suites in Hummleston"
When booking with hotels.com, it asked for the adults names in the two rooms I booked. When i arrived at the hotel, I didn't not realize that also made a reservation in the persons name in the other room. When I arrived at the hotel, I was charged for a 3rd room because the attendent had no idea my two rooms were linked. Had a lot of back and forth […] with hotels.com and the hotel. It finally got resolved, but be aware when booking. The issue was resolved, but the attendent got very snippy when I went back down to sign more papers.
