We wanted to relax and enjoy the pool and hot tub but there was a large kids birthday party in the pool area. They were smashing pinatas and blowing loud obnoxious horns. So we decided to go to dinner and go in the pool after the party was over. However when we came back from dinner we were told the pool area closed at 7pm. "Had to wait all - day to check in . . ."
We had called ahead a couple of days before to request an early check in. We were told they would be happy to accommodate us. When we arrived at 8:40 Am, since we got off a red - eye in Boston. The girl at the desk was rather rude and said the room was not ready, they were booked up. We checked back at 11:30 and 3:00 - since we saw other guest checking […] in early around us. When we did get our room, by 3:40, the view was of the roof below us and had no real view at all. After we had slept in our car for a few hours, it was a welcome feeling to get to have a bed. So - we probably won't stay there again. The same person at the front desk was not very helpful each time we asked. "Pre-paid, still left early"
Pool water is quite murky. The limited selection of food and its average quality doesn't justify the price asked. Beach- and pool-front rooms (called Sun Deck) are great in theory, but useless in practice because the hotel doesn't give you a key for the pool door so there's no way to exit and secure the room through that door. In consequence you have […] to exit through the main room door and go through the entire hotel in a bathing costume. King bed was uncomfortable and only had two pillows; room was permanently dark. The room wasn't made up by 4pm, so returning from the beach for a shower was unpleasant. Lot of families and kids, and a lot for them to do. This isn't a quiet place for a romantic break for two at all, neither is it a high-end resort (even though it's priced like a Fairmont.) The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. "seacrest resort visit on Cape Cod"
we were not happy about our saty at the seacrest resort. The front desk attendant was great and accomodating. But the room was disappointing. We have two kids and felt that our room would have felt safer if it were cleaner in appearance. We had asked for a baby crib. and when the employee brought one up, he spent a good ten minutes in the hallway trying […] to fix it. when he brought it in the room, it was not put together. it was actually old and broken. It was an accident (liability) waiting to happen. suffice to say our toddler son slep in the bed with us. Also two of the lamps had bulbs that were not working. I asked the worker who briught the crib up that we needed two light bulbs and he never returned. furthermore, after our first night, we went out for the day and when we returned we discovered that our room had not been cleaned. I went down stairs and told the front desk, and she had no excuse for why it hadnt been cleaned. I asked her for a trash bag since we needed our trash can cleaned. and fortunately she gave me a large trash bag. And for a resort we were expecting it to be more kid friendly. the dining room menu was very over priced and not accomodating at all for children. ...a game room and pool doesnt cut it. we were extremely disappointed and embarrassed for the resort. "Sea Crest Falmouth on the beach"
I was very diasppointed with the room. This was my first time booking with Hotels.com. The first room we got was musty and the bathtub had stains in it and the window did not open. We had requested a different room from one staff and they said they were "sold out". We went back a few minutes later and they moved us to a different room. The next room […] had plywood holding in the air conditioner, stained tub, and the room smelt like glue. After this room was worse, we asked to be able to get a different room. All they had available were suites, we were willing to pay extra for a different room because of the smell, but they said since we booked through hotels.com we could not change the room. "Totally fooled"
The front end staff weren't too friendly. The condition of the hotel is old and not pretty at all, it looks like a cheap Hotel and not a resort. The music in the indoor pool was was too loud, the sauna or steam room that they mention they have does not work. Nice location on the beach, but really overpriced. I'm glad that i got a deal with Expedia--I would not have been too happy paying the full going rate. "Tear down and build a new one! Now! :)"
Well, the hotel is too old, needs URGENT renovation... maybe even to tear it down completely and build a new one instead. Rooms - old, no comfort, no internet in the room (lobby only, although the rooms that are close to the lobby can get it via wi-fi for free), no laundry, no room service, etc., etc., etc. Looks like half of the cleaning personnel […] are young people, probably doing part time or summer jobs... not always as it should be. The beach is beautiful, clean. The ocean is great, but the hotel is not adequate. Besides, the prices for such lack of comfort are not low, but standard to the area / season, what makes it too expensive. What amazed me - with all this - the hotel is fully booked! Well, we had a great time on the beach, but, as much as I love Cape Cod, next time we'll be looking for a more comfortable hotel with a higher star rating. Looks like the owner / management do not consider the hotel as a business, but like a hobby, some good souvenir from their childhood and they, apparently, try to keep it look like it... 30 years ago.
