"Don't understimate it."
Room was small but well decorated and uber chic - no waste of space. Even the iron/ironing board was tucked away nicely. View wasn't awesome. Room faced other buildings but that was probably due to cheaper online booking rate. Had Wifi, mini-fridge, complimentary bottled water, tea & coffee. Room was spotless. Sheets & towels were pure white (a BIG […] deal for me). I'm a light sleeper so the loud heater was sorta bothersome. But the only noise was from another guest being loud and slamming a door. The staff always greeted us which showed they appreciate your business and maintain the Starwood-W Hotel standard. There's street parking if you can find it but we parked in a garage a block away. Overnight cost was $16. Great location. Express A train's 3 blocks away & you're downtown in less than 20 minutes. Yes, Harlem is an "urban" neighborhood but the location itself doesn't warrant fear. There's a police station right across the street so I never felt unsafe. And where safety is concerned, it's usually more about using common sense anyway. No upscale restaurants nearby but plenty of street food vendors if you want authentic NY style outdoor dining. Also also tons of shopping near the heart of 125th Street. "Holiday spirit or just beautiful Harlem residents"
Hi my name is Stephanie and I am in love with Harlem and the Aloft Hotel! I can't even put into words how much I enjoyed my stay in NY this past weekend. I have family in Wash Heights & Queens but I wanted to stay at my own spot and what a spot it was! My room was graciously upgraded by Lyndon, the most awesome front desk talent I've encountered in […] a long time....so refreshing and very easy on the eyes!! :) Also Kareem, the best mixologist at W XYZ...resident bar/lounge. (Thx Kareem and we'll definitely do church with you next visit)! I felt such a sense of comfort and calm with the neighborhodd, that my bff and I walked back to the hotel from Moca Bar & Lounge on 8th Ave...about 5 1/2 blocks away....at 4am! I loved the Aloft in Harlem, the staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice. The only thing I would change are the pillows, they were too thick for me, I prefer a thin pillow. I stayed here about a week ago. Located in the heart of Harlem its only a 2 block walk to the train. The AExpress takes 2 stops to get to time square. There was a stain on my carpet, but not that important. The lobby/bar gets real packed on the weekends. Shopping is a block away from Hotel. "affordable and convenient"
My husband and I chose the Aloft Harlem because it was a few blocks from a friend's apartment. We found that it had courteous staff and clean, well-maintained rooms.
