The James New York Guest Rooms
114 non-smoking Guest Rooms, which include spacious corner rooms with wrap-around views. Each room includes custom-designed furnishings and thoughtful, guest-centric and environmentally-conscious touches, such as reclaimed wood floors and furnishings; an eco-friendly pillow selection by Keetsa; and rugs made from all-natural fibers.
Guest Rooms feature custom designed furniture, including a streamlined dark wood platform bed, private work/dining niche, flat-screen TVs, and spacious bathrooms.

David Burke Kitchen — Rustic American cuisine with a contemporary flair
The restaurant focuses on wholesome and hearty modern American food, locally sourced and presented in the creative and whimsical style that is Burke’s trademark. Designed by James Beard Award-winner Thomas Schlesser, David Burke Kitchen’s interior is inspired by the surrounding Soho neighborhood, blending the cool, industrial simplicity of an airy loft with the rustic warmth of an urban farmhouse.
The loft-like main dining room featuring exposed beams and views through glass walls into the kitchen and wine cave; and outdoor space within the Urban Garden, opening this summer. The dining room boasts a bold, theatrical experience: a carving station where dishes are plated in the center of the action.
David Burke Kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, dinner daily as well as weekend brunch.

But whether indoors or out, Jimmy guests are treated to one of the most spectacular views in New York City: a river-to-river vista looking over Midtown, Wall Street, the Brooklyn Bridge and beyond. Guests can order from a classically inspired cocktail menu with ingredients including syrups, bitters and juices prepared in-house from herbs in the Chef’s Garden.
Treehouse, a glass enclosed bar, where guests can enjoy handcrafted cocktails with an array of pizzas, flatbreads, spreads and pâtés as well as homemade sweet and savory snacks from David Burke Kitchen.

"Was not as romantic as we had hoped."
We booked the James thinking it would be a nice stay for our anniversary weekend - but it was more like any other day at any other decent, New York hotel. We upgraded to the king deluxe studio. The best thing about our room was the heated bathroom floor. Everything else seemed pretty standard. We were disappointed that the only pastries they had each […] morning were just scones - but I suppose we should be happy that we got any scones at all. The room was mostly clean as we found random chocolate wrappers on the floor near the bed that remained there for our whole stay. We didn't touch anything from the minibar but noticed the snacks were covered in a light layer of dust. If we are to stay in Soho again, we'll likely stay elsewhere. "Nice hotel"
I was pleasantly surprised when I checked into the hotel, I upgraded my room to a suite. The suite was amazing. 3 views of the city. We just returned from a long weekend in NYC. While there we stayed at The James Hotel. My husband and I were absolutely delighted. The hotel is convenintly located 1 block from the Canal St stop on the A,C,E subway line, so we never had to cab it. SoHo is the perfect place to hang out and we just spent a lot of time doing that. Short of the very best 5-star hotels (i.e. Waldorf, Four Seasons), I think this is one of the very best hotels in NYC, particularly for the price. The service there is impeccable but not intrusive, and the hotel has great amenities, including an incredible small but otherwise great rooftop pool and bar. When you pay just as much to wait 10 minutes to cram into an elevator at one of the high-end chains, this place is a steal. I recommend the Corner King room because the view, light, and size is perfect for two. I stayed here for a weekend getaway, but I will return here regularly for my business stays. The neighborhood is perfect and convenient (Tribeca/Soho), yet not in the thick of either bars or shopping, and just around the corner from everything.
