"Best Service I'v ever recieved"
We stayed here for just one night which was NYE. We were in town for the show at MSG and I can't say enough about this hotel. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out the service was superior to all hotels I've ever stayed and that includes a lot of high end Casino comps.... We had one minor problem which was the betteries in our door […] lock mech. were dead, they immediately fixed it. Great location with subway steps away. Despite being on busy 6th avenue, it was quiet in the room and bed, shower, etc were first rate. Only quibble was that front desk and room service were not that responsive - they seemed to be a little understaffed given the large number of guests. On our second day, we left the hotel about 10AM to explore NYC. We arrived back in our room at 530 to discover that housekeeping had not cleaned the room. The only explanation was that they had "trouble with housekkeping" and would send someone up right away. Not what one wants to hear when gusets are preparing to get ready for the evening. In addition […] something perishable had been sent to us that day, yet no one contaacted us to arrange for delivery. In fact when the manager was contacted he told our friend that the item had been delivered. My observation is a breakdown in communication and lack of accountability among mamagement and staff. The right words are said, but they're not backed up with action. The two queen bed room is said to accomodate four adults, but i wouldn't recommned it. It was very crowded. Eventi is an excellent hotel, beautifully appointed with modern ammenities and extremely well drilled staff. Friendly, attentive and helpful. The hotel is still very new having opened in May 2010 and it shows. It is superbly located in Chelsea, near the empire state building (I had a great view of it from my window) and a 10-15 minute stroll to Times […] Square. Also about a 15-20 minute walk to the Chelsea Market which is worth a look for food lovers. The low point was the room size. Tiny. Don't get me wrong, what you get is lovely and very tastefully done, super modern and dare I say cool. But the bed took up nearly all the room with very little space for anything else. I was happy to tolerate for all the other positives. Oh yes, you can sign up to Kimpton In Touch (the hotel's parent group) and get free wi-fi in the hotel for the cost of your email address or pay per day (why would you?).
