"Horrible front desk, extremely small rooms"
Please do not stay at this hotel. I was fooled that i am getting a deal discounted from $650 to $150, but this hotel is nothing but a II star motel 6. I am not sure why Marriott even allows them to attach the name Marriott, but after this i will NEVER stay in another marriott. The picture is not accurate the rooms are extremely small. NY Is not like […] this! I stayed at FOUR POINTS SHERATON for much less and the experience was amazing. In addition the location of Fairfield is dangerous. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. On positive note despite the horrible front desk service by the male attendant the young female receptionist was trying her best to help. "Review NYC Marriott"
I usually do not write reviews. The location of the hotel is great: near the Empire State Building, Times Square, and great shopping. The bonus was the breakfast included in the price; however, we were a bit disappointed with the housekeeping. The AC was broken for the most part of our stay (July) and it was fixed only on the last night of our visit. […] We brought our ownportable baby crib so that the baby would sleep comfortably on something she was already familiar with. The housekeeper spilt coffee on the portable crib (this is a $300 crib!), the towel that we brought from home, and the baby's brand new hat. We spoke to the hotel manager about the incident, but she vaguely gave a bunch of excuses almost insinuating that it could not had been possible that their staff made a mistake. Because they do not have a laundry on site, they could not clean my sheet (which is a special one for the portable crib). Of course, they offered replacement sheets but I did not want to take any chance with a seven month old baby and have her sleep with loose sheets which are not recommended due to SIDS. The hotel is tiny (very narrow) and in a nondescript location with few amenities. However, it is within walking distance of Penn Station and the subway, and the rooms are very clean. Een geweldig hotel! Een heerlijk en uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet, en in de avond kun je gratis heerlijke zelfgebakken koekjes pakken. Het hotel ligt op de Fifth Avenue en het is nog geen 5 minuten lopen bij een metro-station vandaan. Ook Times Square is dichtbij. Zelf hadden wij een uitzicht op het Empire State building en de kamers zelf zijn ook geweldig. […] Alles was mooi schoon, je lakens werden elke dag voor je gewassen en het kingsize (lees: ongeveer een 3-persoonsbed) lag ook heerlijk. Beneden heb je toegang tot 2 computers waarnaast je ook nog gratis kunt printen, scannen kopieren en faxen (en lekkere koffie, thee of chocolademelk pakken!) De service was fantastisch en het personeel doet er alles aan om het naar je zin te maken. Hebben er 5 uur lang met 3 personen aan gewerkt om problemen met onze creditcard op te lossen! Ho trascorso una settimana in questo hotel, posto in una posizione strategica, per le principali attrazioni turistiche. Unico neo, è che ci sono dei lavori in corso (stanno costruendo un altro hotel di fianco) quindi, le camere dei piani bassi potrebbero essere un po' rumorose... personalmente la cosa non mi ha toccato perché la mia stanza si trovava […] al sedicesimo piano con una spelndida vista sull'Empire State Building... :) Il personale si è dimostrato assolutamente gentile e disponibile (ci hanno anche indirizzato su un medico da contattare perché purtroppo ne abbiamo avuto bisogno) e, prima e durante l'uragano Irene sono stati molto gentili, disponibili e rassicuranti. La colazione inclusa nel prezzo è piuttosto comoda, non eccezionale ma abbastanza completa... non ci si può lamentare. Se avete fretta, scendete nella sala colazione prima delle 9, in quanto la stanza non è molto grande e potrebbe capitare di fare un po' di fila. In sintesi un esperienza positiva e da consigliare. Marmeladen, div. Honige, Automaten Saft, frische Waffeln. Sandwiches zum Erwärmen, Muffens, süße Teilchen, jedoch keine Wurst/Käse. Was für uns kein Problem war. […] Kurzer Weg zur Subway. Zimmer sauber. Safe (klein Dokumentenfach) kostenlos an der Rezeption. 24h Kaffee und frisches Orangenwasser, zum Kaffee - warme Kekse um ca. 4pm (haben wir nur beim Hurrican genossen). Freundliches Personal. Neben dem Hotel zur Zeit eine Baustelle (Baulärm ab ca. 7h - wurden beim CheckInn darauf hingewiesen - hat uns auch nicht gestört - NYC ist sowieso nie ruhig!) Alles GUT.
