"Nice Hotel Poor Service"
The hotel was fine, the staff was completely indifferent to how the stay was. I am not sure if this is because it was booked through Hotels.com or if they are just lazy and ill mannered. There was no information book in my room. You had to go to the basement to get Ice. My TV did not work. I had to call three times to have someone come up and program […] it to turn on.. sorry for the inconvience, just a look of annoyance. I left something in my car that was valeted... they sent me off to Central Parking "across the Street"... There were three Central Parking Lots "across the street. "Overrated"
Calling this a four-star hotel is absurd. It was nothing but disappointing from the moment I arrived, when I waited so long for a valet to appear that I finally had to call the hotel to ask someone to come outside. Even then, he stood by while I lugged all of my bags out of the car into the lobby, with no offer to help from him or anyone else, even […] though there was a luggage cart within sight. (Same problem during check-out, with three employees watching me stumble through the lobby with three bags and hanging clothes.) The rooms are fine, nothing special. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean. The restaurant looks like it has seen better days: cracked paint everywhere, filthy carpets, disinterested staff. Don't bother. Overall I am very disappointed that I paid a four-star hotel rate for this wannabe boutique hotel. I travel to NYC often and would rank this among my least favorite stays ever. I will not go back. "Smallish, smelly, dumb shower"
I used to live in New York and work in the area so I expected a small hotel and that's what I got. It's a reasonable size for the area, but may be cramped for people not used to cities. It's probably because it was winter but I found the air in the hotel room to be a tad dry at night (I have dry skin and this didn't help). Also, I had a non-smoking […] room but I smelled smoke on more than one occasion on a 5 night stay - at some point it got really bad and I had to use my shirt as a mask. Lastly, I want to mention the dumb shower. You may not notice from the pictures, but the glass wall is fixed and only covers half of the left side while you're showing so water will inevitably get out and make the floor wet - wasn't a horrible problem since you're in a hotel and they'll change the floor towel but still annoying. "Try somewhere else first..."
We booked a room for 4 (2 double beds) a month in advance on hotels.com. When we arrived early we checked in, left our bags and went off to explore. Later we got back to get room keys and the desk informed us that they could only give us a king bed and a trundle for that night. We were squished in the room and navigation. No amount of bad snacks from […] the minibar makes up for that! Since the reservation was made so far in advance, I think that they gave priority to non-hotel.com customers. "Not deserving of a 4 rating, not even close"
Hotel was, in a word, extremely disappointing (ok, that's 2 words). The lobby is small. The hallways had no air conditioning. We asked for a room on an upper floor and were initially offered the second floor! We finally got the 7th floor out of 19 floors with a view of the back even though the hotel was not full and we checked in early. The rooms are […] extremely small and sparse. The front desk was helpful for restaurant suggestions. The kicker is we paid the same price for this room as we did for the Waldorf-Astoria where we got an incredible room, ameneities, and service (the Waldorf was unfortunately booked this week-end and we also wanted to be in Chelsea). "Not impressed"
Based on the pictures and reviews, my husband and I were excited to stay at Hotel Indigo Chelsea NYC. Check in was fine but after a 2 hour nap, our bags were still not sent to our room so we called the bellhop to them delivered. There are only 2 elevators for a 16 floor hotel and one of them wasn't working properly so you can imagine the wait (we were […] on the 8th floor). The rooms are small but nicely appointed: huge King sized bed, iPod docking system, flat screen HD tv, Aveda tolietries and modern decor help set the spa-like scene. My husband and I both enjoyed the smooth but powerful flushing action of the toliet. The shower, while large, was a nuisance to deal with. The glass enclosure did not go even half-way to the wall so the bathroom floor was soaked with water. Also the shower did not drain properly and soapy water and hair collected in areas of the shower. My main complaint is that our room was not cleaned properly. Used glasses and spoons were not removed from our room and house cleaning did not do a good job of keeping our shower clean. However, the neighborhood is great. There's a Whole Foods and Whole Body store just blocks away from the hotel and a delicious and reasonable priced bistro name Champion (amazing coffee!). Also it's right on the 1 subway line and just a few minutes worth of walking to Harold Square, MSG and Penn Station. "Poor service on the last day ruins a pleasant stay"
The room was comfortable. However, we were very disappointed and angry with the service on the final day of our stay. In the morning, we requested that a town car reservation be made to take us to the airport that afternoon. "Bad service but decent room"
Clean rooms of good quality but on the smaller side. Bad to horrible customer service. location is quite good with the subway within 300m from the hotel. there's a Macdonalds round the corner and a 24 corner "Gyros" stall. walkable distance 20 mins "tourist pace" to times square. I wouldn't suggest the hotel if you are not keen to be "on guard" against […] suspect business ethics (see experience below) but if you are looking for a decently price and clean rooms you could do worse. Was initially given a room where the air conditioning wasn't working (no big deal in itself) but when i rang front desk they obviously knew about the fault as they didn't even need to send anyone to check it before advising that all there had left was a smaller room. (they also never offered to check us back into a larger room when they had space) An incorrect charge was also applied on my credit card the day before we left but instead of advising me of the error, they simply reversed the transaction and made no mention of it when i checked out. Human mistakes happen but their blatant lack of respect and the attempts to pass off a "shoddy" room suggest that they would take advantage of anyone at a moments notice. "Overpriced"
On the hotel there was a construction work going on. Even though the receptionist promised me a quiet room, the construction noise began at 7,30 in the morning the day after i arrived. ..... They did not have any agreements with taxi drivers, so they could not order a taxi to bring me to the airport, just advice me to go to 7th and try to get one myself. […] The bar on the top was great, and the breakfast was also ok, but rooms were noisy and you can hear the elevator in the rooms (at least the two i tried). 우리로 치면 시내와 가까운 것을 제외하면 그다지 추천하고 싶지 않군요. 청결 상태도 먼지가 잔뜩 그대로 있고, 비용대비(한국의 동급 호텔 대비해서는 4~5배?) 정도 수준으로, 현지 물가를 고려하더라도 좀... 뭐, 근처에 호텔들이 다 그 수준이라면 할 말 없지만, 차라리 에어텔이나 한인이 운영하는 하숙 내지는 민박? 비슷한 것들을 이용하심이 적절한 줄 아뢰오.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
