"great location, easy to get around"
Very convenient location. Hotel was nice - but I booked a non smoking room with 2 beds, and they didn't have it available when I first checked in, so I had to spend 2 nights in a smoking room (who knew they even had those anymore??). Luckily the others in my party weren't there with me those first 2 nights!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Surprise was the quality of the restaurant."
The hotel met my standards as a business traveler. The room was updated and clean but the air conditioning unit next to the window was a bit loud for such a small room. I guess you can't expect much more for $300 a night in Manhattan. The real surprise was the quality of the food served in the restaurant. I had an excellent aged rib eye steak with potatoes […] and vegetables plus a glass of Guinness for $41.00. I ate in the bar area and the staff were very friendly. "Small but perfectly formed"
The hotel is in a great location, which made getting around Manhattan very easy... However the room we stayed in was very, very small for the price. I know it's Manhattan, but for a Holiday Inn it's probably a little over-priced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel needs some upgrading. Looks old and tired."
Location great for our purposed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not my first choice, but an ok option"
Only stayed here because preferred hotels were booked. Hotel is ok, rooms clean, free wifi & location is good. Booked during a busy week in NYC, not happy they got me for $500/night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stay was adequate. Room too expensive. Breakfast was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Central hotel in New York"
The waiters at the breakfast room not very helpful. Constantly looking for tips despite us having paid for breakfast up front with our booking. We were restricted to only 10 dollars worth of breakfast food each day but not told of this on booking. As a result very restricted to what to eat. Waiters not interested in what you order and preferred us to […] go over our limit so they good bring a bill up to you so that you would have to tip them 5 dollars at a time as 1 dollar looked unwelcome. Room sizes very small and bathroom also. Not suitable for a family of 4 in a room with two double beds. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good but small!"
Good but small! room size not that gr8..... view from hotel is exciting for first time visitor .... from 20th floor empire state building was nicest thing for hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Noisy at night"
Hotel was what we expected but the people in the other rooms were pretty inconsiderate...was woken up by noise outside our room every night. It may have been because the door to the room we were in had another door directly next to it. Hotel was fine otherwise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Value for the Money"
Hotel overall was average, rooms are small, hallways are small but it didn't bother us as we only stayed one night and were not in the room very much. We did enjoy their little outdoor patio for apps and drinks.Genuine Expedia guest review
"good location, small room, bad cleaning"
standard room was small but ok. New bathroom. Cleaning may seriously be improved. We spent 6 nights in this hôtel, the carpet was never vacuumed. The towels were picked up but not always replaced. Coffee in the room was not always replaced.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Easy but tiny"
Everything was incredibly close and convenient to this hotel but the pictures trick you. Our room was so tiny we actually laughed when we walked in. The sink in the bathroom was no bigger than a saucepan and the king bed literally took up the entire room. It was hard to find a spot to put two suitcases. The hotel staff was pretty nice but never did […] what we requested (eg extra towels etc). One morning someone tried to get into our room; they knocked several times (8 am so we were asleep) and when no one answered they tried to get in but since we had the deadbolt liked they couldn't. They unlocked the deadbolt!!!!!! Luckily we had the other two locks slid over but seriously? If the deadbolt is locked there's obviously someone in there!!! You get what you pay for. It's New York so you aren't in your room much anyway but I was pretty disappointed about this place. I've stayed at better places in NYC. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
""Request" for non-smoking not fulfilled"
If I knew that my non-smoking choice was just a request I would have booked elsewhere. The strong smell of smoke made for a very uncomfortable stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, poor quality"
This is a cheap hotel given the location of thet neighborhood. Not much more to say about it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small but Affordable for New York City"
Small spaces (bathroom and sleeping area) but can't expect much for the price in NYC. The room, bathroom are clean and bed is comfortable. Be prepared to wait for the elevator (lots of floors and slow). Check-in can be chaotic. Early check-in wasn't possible. Close to metros, food markets, Starbucks. Pretty quiet even with a room by the elevator. Didn't […] order any food from the adjoining restaurant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Rooms are so small"
I booked this room hoping for a king size bed and received two double beds that were so small one would think they were made for children. The room itself was so small and cramped. The bathroom was also cramped and could not even hold a standard sink. Using the bathroom felt like I was in a trailer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient for a short stay"
Convenient for a short stay as restauraunts, shopping and transport is located around the hotel, but the room is very sMALL; WIFI worked instabilGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for business or leisure"
Other than the first night when I didn't get the room I had reserved, my hotel stay was good. Everything I had expected from a Holiday Inn... just average, not spectacular, but good enough for a few days and comfy beds. Free cable TV and Wi-Fi were a huge plus. Wish there was a fridge in the room though, that would have been nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
Clean and accommodating. Beds we not that comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It was just fine"
No problems with the hotel, other than that the room was the smallest I've ever had in NYC. But it's right in the middle of midtown, so if that's what you need, it'll do the job. I wouldn't recommend it for vacation though if you plan on spending more than 15 minutes in your room other than sleeping.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Kind of old and moldy, but it worked for 2 nights.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Too much money for too little space"
The location isn't bad, but the rooms are so small you can barely put your suitcase anywhere. On top of that, the elevator was slow and you often waited way too long to get into the elevators which were always full. The rates for these rooms are overpriced for what you get.Genuine Expedia guest review
Only 2 lifts for more than 20 floors. small rooms but clean. Very noisy air condition and no insolated walls.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is well situated... My only issue was the cost of coffee. A cup of coffee is usually complementary, here they charge $2 of a small cup of coffee... A complete reap offGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"small room for a family"
the location for this hotel is good, but the room is very small for a family with two children.Genuine Expedia guest review
"My hotel stay"
My experience was okay. On Expedia's cite it stated that this hotel had a four star rating. I've stayed in four and five star hotels many times, and this certainly was not one. I would rate it about two and a half. However, I did love the restaurant in the hotel. the service and the food was great. It made up for the discomfort of my room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Business as usual"
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The room was bigger than I expected after reading previous reviews, but I have been in NYC many times so I know room sizes are normally smaller than most other locations. The room was clean, the air conditioner worked, as well as the TV so I was fine. There was a somewhat unpleasant smell in the room, […] but not bad enough to request being moved. I did utilize the Prime Cafe restaurant and again was pleasantly surprised that the food was better than other reviewers had expressed with their opinions. I would definately stay here again. "Three night stay at the Holiday Inn"
Everything was fine with the exception of the comfort of the mattress. The mattress was quite uncomfortable. The rug also looked like it should be tossed. The front desk staff and the staff of the restaurant were very pleasant and willing to be of assistance. I would stay there again but would hope for new mattresses and rugs!Genuine Expedia guest review
We were put on the 9th floor next to the housekeeping dept. The housekeepers congregate in the area and talk very loudly to each other. I feel that when using hotels.com that we are placed in the less desirable room locations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location but rooms a little small and tight bathroom.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just okay...a little expensive for what you get"
The staff seemed very friendly and helpful. The room was decorated lovely. The bath is very small...the floor was soaking wet for some reason.maybe a leak..and the was no soap...just a oversight. The heating/airconditioning unit was very noisy...could not make it stop.Genuine Expedia guest review
Fair place for the price been in Manhattan, elevator was in service so you can imagine the line at the only one working. Hard Bed was unconfortable in a small room. Costumer Service was very helpful and friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel very clean, but extremely tight rooms. I stayed alone and if I had stayed with someone else it would have been way too crowded in the room. Thats the only downfall to this hotel other than that eveything was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean but small especially for 3 adults in a double bedroom. The location is a little more removed from most tourist attractions. There is a metro stop close to the hotel that was helpful. The surrounding area had several dining options and felt safe at night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"small, slow elevator and misleading amenities"
Room and bathroom were even smaller than a Holiday Inn Express we've stayed at not far away. The elevators were painfully slow and often crowded w/ numerous stops going up and down. "Breakfast included" ended up being a $20 voucher for the restaurant in the building and that amount wouldn't cover breakfast with juice for two, let alone a tip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location...horrible bed!"
I was satisfied with the location, and everyone was very nice and helpful; however, the bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed I've slept on to date.Genuine Expedia guest review
"it was what it was"
I was happy with the amenities and room was comfy but customer service is seriously lacking at this spot. We arrived, were rushed through the check-in. The staff at the desk seems despondent, eager to get you out of their face, just generally unpleasant on that late thursday night, June 2, 2011. The girl that checked us in has serious attitude. We tried […] diffusing her with small talk & a little joke but she was very "poker face" and curt. Oh, and I was certain that when I booked the room it said continental breakfast included. Asked staff and they gave a quick NO answer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

location is great, but room too small, if u have a lot of stuff u cannot walk in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small room, good location"
If you want to walk around Manhattan, without a car, this is perfect hotel at this price. The room is very small, and apparently there is no upgrades cause they are all small. Other hotels in the area and same block are much better, but much pricy, but if you are staying one or two nights, this is good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall for Manhattan the cost was good. Room was clean, up to date and comfortable for how very small but typical for NYC... Location was good and the staff was great. Had a problem getting service at the bar/restaurant in the late morning so they missed our business there. Went to a very pleasant Irish pub/restaurant around the corner on 7th Ave called […] the Triple Crown that was great to eat at! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location but over-priced"
I spent 8 nights in this hotel. The location is very convenient. Rooms are very small and not soundproof - you can easily hear your neighbors. I found the hotel overpriced. Nice staff but housekeepers come early in the morning (from 8 am to 9 am) to knock your door to eventually make your room and so they may wake you up. My room was clean. I did not […] try the breakfast so I cannot say anything on this. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what we expected form a big chain"

"Ideal location, but as basic as it comes"
Two double beds were crammed into a double room so it can be sold as a family room, which was a shame... The room door could not open fully and you had to squeeze past a bed to get to the bathroom.... Disappointingly small. However, perfect location, lovely staff and good reasonably priced food.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Tiny rooms, ok service, good location"
A word of caution: the rooms are miniscule! You don't get much for the amount of money you are spending per night, but one has to remember that New York City hotels are quite expensive, and the rooms will be small everywhere (unless you are willing to spend a fortune). The front desk staff is very friendly, but the service of the staff in the connecting […] restaurant that serves breakfast was quite disappointing. We also had a problem with a leak from the bathroom fan, and though maintenance looked at it multiple times, it still puddled in our washroom 4 out of the 5 nights we stayed there. Location wise, the hotel is about a 7 minute walk to the subway which was very convenient. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel, but can only give it a 3 out of 5. "Holiday inn manhattan 6th avenue"
Staff was abrupt and disorganized. It could be because it was summer and there were many customers but only a couple of staff at reception. Room was small. I am used to big spaces, so I felt quite caustrophobic in this.Genuine Expedia guest review
Location good but room size is dreadful they knew there was a family of 3 booking in when we saw the rm we wandered where do we put out bags!!! Staff were ok for the price you pay it wasn't worth that would advise to look around &ask the size of rm Internet can be very deceivingGenuine Expedia guest review
"Acceptable, but not great."
For 4 adults, a room with two doubles is just barely big enough. It's a tight space, but manageable. For the most part, the room was clean; however, there were some bedsheets that had clearly been washed, but were still stained. The location is very convenient as it is only a few blocks to a number of subway stations. Highline Park and Chelsea Market […] are nearby as are a host of quick food places (McDonald's, Starbucks, and Whole Foods to name a few). The biggest problem I had with our stay was the poor performance of the wifi in the room. It was supposed to be available throughout the hotel, particularly in the room, but as we were on a higher floor, the reception was spotty, and did not work for 3 out of the 4 days we stayed there.
