Let the West Coast have Hollywood; Broadway’s lights are just as bright, and many screen actors come to the Great White Way to gain acting credibility. Area attractions include Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Resplendent St. Patrick’s Cathedral takes up a block at Fifth and 50th. Once seedy, Times Square now hosts ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.

Very small hotel to busy to be comfortable. When I booked the hotel I specified non-smoking but they gave us a smoking room, which we complained about and they moved us to another room, reluctantly. Just not a comfortable atmosphere.Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff were very very nice & friendly! We got stuck with room 101 which happens to be next to the check in desk...would not recommend this room or 1st floor in general...very noisy, especially in the early early morning when setting up for breakfast. The tv is a big flat screen 5*, the bed was a king clean & comfortable 5*, but the rug had a lot […] of discoloration in it...I did not want to touch my bare feet to it, also the walls looked like there may have been a recent leak. The room was very dry too maybe this is the norm but I wish I had brought a humidifier. Yes I'd stay there again but on a higher floor for sure! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Service is Great... Rooms are too too small!!!"
Service and location is great, breakfast was good and convenient. Rooms are scary small. I've never staying only because the double room was too small!! The other room does not look that small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel just okay"
We would not stay at this hotel again. It was clean and convenient to Grand Central Station. The breakfast was okay. They didnt have condiments to go with the eggs. The hot water for tea in the evening was not refilled. The area for eating was very small and quite crowded. They ask that you hang your towels to conserve water. We did that and came back […] to find the towels we hung were gone and not replaced. We had to go looking for toilet paper. It was little details that were annoying. "The SAAB's review - not recommended"
Probably the major "good" things are the location & breakfast and that's it! Annoying things: 1- Noisy environment & elevator doors (I changed the room that was right next to the elevator door but the sound persisted, maybe it is the age of the elevator and the doors & walls are thin, they do not attenuate the external sounds) 2- Garbage stuffed at […] entrance in large quantities - there is no better view & smell than this to start and finish your day 3- Carpet (inside rooms) is splotchy 4- Tattered and worn towels 5- No self laundry machines I set my expectations right at the level I'm looking and paying for; and when I select holiday inn, I expect a normal, good experience without the above annoying things that cannot be considered as extra features. I invite the hotel's management to invest and rehabilitate its property because the above points are imperatives in the hotel industry. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Location is the only thing working for the hotel"
Rooms are way too small. During my check-in I was informed that the room I am getting is a bigger room in comparison to the others on the floor. I opened the room door and I was surprised. It was Tiny. I had to wait for an elevator for a long time and this is at 1:00 in the morning. Computers outside the room didn't help the cause either. I will NOT […] stay in this hotel again. "Holiday Inn 5th Ave. Nice, basic hotel"
If you are spending any amount of time in the hotel while in NYC you don't want this hotel. But for a place to crash in the heart of midtown, this is the place for you. Breakfast is very crowded so go early to avoid the jam packed lobby where the buffet is located. Actually pretty well appointed for a free breakfast. 2 blocks to Times Square and Rockefeller […] center and steps from great shopping on 5th ave. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The missing bed!"
We booked a room through expedia and were told that the room slept 3 people, 2 adults and child would be fine and that they would request a roll-away bed for the child. Expedia even called the hotel to confirm the room would be ok at my request. Upon check in the hotel said they could not provide the roll-away as they were all in use and that it was […] only a "request" which means they did not have to provide it. I asked the simple question of "why did you not inform us that you could not meet the request" but the answer was they don't know how to get hold of Expedia, when I questioned this they did admit they do know how to!! Fortunately, the luggage guy that was moving bags in the lobby over heard and found us a mattress and bedding, had it not been for his willingness to own the problem and help us we would have been in awkward situation. Moral of this story, contact the hotel directly and confirm it yourself!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Small room, poor staff"
Small rooms and small lobby. Room was clean but staff service left a lot to be desired. We had four women in our room and we had to pay extra for two. Since we had to pay extra you would expect the hotel to pay attention and ensure there were at least 4 towels for us each day, however we had to request a 4th towel each and every day and the staff acted […] like it was a chore. The first night the staff member brought two towels that weren't even folded, just handed us a mess. We also asked the front desk staff for assistance in getting a cab one evening. The person at the front desk called the "bellman" but he was on break and so we were left on our own. My niece asked the front desk person to call a cab and instead he handed her the phone and told her to call. The evening before we departed I asked for a late checkout (only 1 hour) and was told I would have to wait until the next morning and see what they thought then which kind of defeated the purpose.. Because the lobby is so small, there is no room to move when they have a group checking in, particularly if people are checking luggage with the bellman as there is only a small hallway that leads to the elevators. My husband and I stay in Holiday Inn Expresses across the country but this is one that I would never voluntarily stay in again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Horrible experience couldn't sleep at all"
Rooms were small but clean and staff was polite. Free breakfast was better than most complimentary options at other hotels My bed was extremely unconfortable and the 4 pillows in my room were lumpy and had a foul odor. Room was noisy on the 2nd floor and I couldn't sleep at all. Ended up checking out at 6:00am and catching a nap at my office before […] everyone arrived. I HIGHLY recommend spending the extra money and staying at one of the other area hotels. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"If You Don't Mind the Basement"
Good price for clean hotel near 5th Avenue. However, when I checked in, you could see the front desk person change their attitude for the worse when she saw it wasn't a regular Holiday Inn reservation. That led to a room in the basement. You took the elevator down from the lobby and the room had a window that looked up about 5 feet to the street level. […] The room was average in comfort, but clean. However, the final bad moments for me were the 12 inch by 12 inch hole in the floor that was covered up by carpeting and water running out of the ceiling vent in the bathroom as I was leaving at checkout. I informed the front desk and they look panicked about it, but didn't offer me even a thank you. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Wouldn't stay there again"
The room was very small, even by New York standards. Fairly clean. Nice bathroom except for the moldy shower curtain. The lobby was very small. The free breakfast was not good. Powered eggs. Location was good, but I would not recommend it or stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Make sure that the shower curtian has been changed before you shower!"
Liked the location of this hotel and the hotel itself, until the shower curtian got wet. The strong smell of old urine was disgusting! The shower curtian should be changed in between customers! I always assumed that they were, but I will never take this for granted again.Genuine Expedia guest review

Me senti enganado !!!! Alem disso, o hotel está velho e seguramente está entre um dos piores que já fiquei da cadeia Holiday inn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Holiday Inn Express New Yorkissa"
Jouduimme kaksi naista jakamaan saman kapean sängyn. Pyyhkeitä tuotiin vain kahdelle […] ellei erikseen siivoojalta pyytänyt. Säilytystilana yksi pieni, kapea vaatekaappi (neljä henkaria) ja 3 pientä vetolaatikkoa. Kylppärissä iso torakka. Aamiainen ala-arvoinen, kamalaa keinotekoista mössöä. Oli myös kallis suhteessa todella hienoihin hotelleihin. Sijainti ainoa hyvä asia. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
