Went to SOHO with my wife for a friend's birthday celebration weekend. Liked the rate on this on and I am glad I did select the Hampton Inn Manhattan Soho. It is located on a quiet street in Soho. My friend's hotels also were advertised as Soho but were both located in load and busy Chinatown. Service was good, nice room but on the small side. Hotel […] had no problem giving us an early check in, and next day after check out they stored our luggage while we went sightseeing in Manhattan. We were pleased with our choice of this hotel. It was reasonable, clean and comfortable. The location was great for driving in and out of NYC - right around the corner from the Holland Tunnel. We were also a quick walk to the Subway and to restaurants.

My first time staying in another part of NYC. Usually stay in the mid-town area. I was attending an even in the East Village so this hotel seemed close enough to the venue & would make it easy to get back & forth at night. I was pleased with the hotel. It was an easy walk from the subway. I took the 1 train from Penn Station & got off at Canal Street. […] It was only about a block away. Ended up walking to the venue in the East Village & it was no problem. Did not use anyother services of the hotel (breakfast, bar). My room was nice & clean. Shower controls were a little different than I'm used to so my shower experience wasn't so great. But that was my fault not the fault of the hotel. There were 2 controls for temp & pressure. So I didn't find out until after my shower that I could have had the pressure much stronger. You could hear usual city noise outside at night but nothing like being in midtown. It was much quieter. Room temperture was perfect. I could control it myself (I like it cooler). Would recommend this hotel if you want to explore lower Manhattan. Side note: I'm a walker & I walked from Canal St to Central Park (5.5 miles). It was an easy walk & definately do-able but there are subway stops also available. Read more

I absolutely loved my stay at the Hampton Inn Soho location. The staff were very courteous and helpful, the bar tender was a lot of fun and the cleaning staff were not intrusive and were very careful not to disturb guests. The hotel also offers a generous free breakfast until 10AM which allowed me to sleep in a bit without having to rush downstairs […] for something to eat. Additionally, this hotel is roughly 5 blocks from Bleecker St and a host of restaurants, shops and little parks. This hotel is in an amazing NYC neighborhood and is very reasonably priced. Will definitely be staying here again. Hotel is very close to the heart of SoHo as well blocks away from 3 different subway lines. Hotel staff was very friendly! Would come back and stay with them for that alone. Internet was also free which is a huge plus since I had to do some work during the trip and they offered free breakfast each morning.

I was expecting something way more posh based on the images but this is just a run of the mill Hampton Inn. Nice staff, great bed, lame furnishings and less than lovely bar + lobby. The vanity design in the bathrooms is a failure and all of the towel bars were falling out of the walls. Not having wireless internet but providing a bedside laptop tablet […] was silly. Only one of us could use our laptops at a time and we had to sit at the desk to plug into the Ethernet cord. Internet was also suuuuuuuper slow. The location is really great and the price can't be beat, but next time I will shell out another $25/night to get something that feels like it wasn't designed on such a tight budget. Breakfast on the back patio would have been lovely but we were never awake in time to enjoy it. Services promptly ends at 9:59am. If you just need a place to sleep and be in the thick of things, this place is fine. If you are going on vacation and want to stay in a nice NY hotel, skip this option. Read more

Stayed at the Hampton Inn Soho from June 1st to the 5th,2011. The hotel was located in an area the required a walk of a few blocks to reach the subway. Room was a little on the small size, but very comfortable. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast which was included was great. Had a problem with the shower head. Extremely nice hotel ,the rooms were large based on NYC standards and very clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Nice breakfast area with a secluded outdoor breakfast room as well. Within walking distance of SOHO/Broadway area. Good value, I will definitely stay there again!

We arrived into the city earlier than expected so we called to see if we could check-in a little early and we were told we could come right then as they had a room available. This was 3 hrs prior to normal check-in! How wonderful not to have to carry our luggage all over the city! The desk staff […] were warm and receptive and helpful. Anytime we spoke to them on our way in or out of the hotel, we were always greeted with a hello and a smile and asked if there was anything they could do or help us with. My friends and I felt so wonderful. Our room was clean and smelled wonderful. Not something commonly mentioned, but it means alot to me. I always check the bathroom first, as that is a sign of hotel cleanliness in my eyes. It was very modern and very clean! Since our room was on the 16th floor, we had a beautiful view of lower Manhattan and the Queensboro Bridge. The complimentary breakfast was amazing! Something for everyone, both hot and cold. We sat in the atrium to eat and it was sunny and open and we loved it. This hotel was everything I'd hoped as it was the first time staying in the city and didn't know what to expect. We were so close to so many shops and places to eat. We came to see a friend perform on Bleeker St. and we were able to walk there. The only 2 points that I would have to say we weren't pleased with were that our room was a bit warmer than we would have liked and had no way to turn down the temperature. And the second issue was it's not easy to get a cab outside the hotel it is right near the Holland Tunnel and not many available cabs come by. You need to walk around the corner, perhaps a few blocks to get a cab. Other than those minor inconveniences, our stay was lovely and I will be staying there again! Read more

This hotel is right at the entrance to the Holland Tunnel. Extreme traffic jams are common if you need to get to the hotel anytime around the rush hour commute. Parking is not on the hotel property, and is a few blocks away. Again, difficult to get to around the rush hour. Local street parking is available on the weekends. Breakfast (included in the […] room rate) was very convenient. Offered a wide variety of choices, eggs, cereals, yogurt, etc. A time and money saver. Only issue is the location. Constant street traffic into the Holland Tunnel, etc. Issue with the hotel was that while they had printed instructions on how to get to the parking garage location, they did not state on the instructions that the parking receipt needed to be stamped. After walking several blocks to the garage in 15 degree temps, I found that I had to pay $92 to park for 36 hours. Due to time constraints, and the freezing cold, I could not do another walking round trip to the hotel to get the ticket stamped. So between traffic and parking, I might just avoid this hotel next trip to NYC. Read more

My only slight negative would be for people new to the city walking around a sometimes dark neighborhood might be a but daunting. But the location to tons of restaurants, bars, Canal Street shopping and the subway were great for us. Hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. Not too noisy from either the street or other rooms. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast varied and absolutely everything you touched was disposable... plates, knives, forks, cups, which weren't very nice to nice off/with. This is minor compared to the positives.

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The only drawback is that it is too close to the Holland Tunnel, so the traffic is very heavy and it is hard for taxi to drive us in and out of the hotel. However, the subway stations and Soho shops are closeby, so it is easy to go sightseeing and shopping. It is at the walking distance to Chinatown.

I was nervous staying at a NYC hotel because of the horror stories about bed bugs but our room as immaculate! Clean, nice bed, cool bathroom and great location. The hotel was just a few blocks from a few main subway lines. There were 2 computers in the lobby with free internet access to help us find our way around as well as an incredibly kind, funny […] and informative front desk employee! (I can't remember her name but she worked during the day on the Wed. and Thurs. we were there) As well, there was a free breakfast everyday.
