"Great location, not so great bathroom"
The location of the hotel was great! I was able to walk to and from Times Square with my small children without them complaining of how long the walk was. The hotel was very tiny and compact, but it didn't bother us since we were staying for just one night. The bathroom in our room wasn't very satisfying. We had the handicap bathroom, so the water from […] the shower ran all through the bathroom floor, with a drain in the middle of the room. My 5 year old slipped on the wet floor and could have really hurt herself. I wasn't given any full sized towels, just hand towels. My 11 year old was in the shower and couldn't dry himself, when i ask the front desk, it took them over an hour to bring them to our room. The toilet constantly ran and didnt flush all the way.The overall room was nice, well decorated. Breakfast was satisfactory, but very busy! We booked this hotel last minute, thanks to hotel.com. It was right in the centre of times square. No need for taxis. All we did was to walk to whatever places we need to go. Easy access to everything. The staff are all polite and accommodating. Yes if we ever comeback in new york i will definitely stay in this hotel and will also recommend it to friends […] and families. There is only 2 things i want to suggest to improve their services: 1 - baby cribs that they provide as complimentary services must be padded. My grandson hit his head several times that's why we have to return it after our first night using it. 2 - this hotel provide complimentary breakfast which is good value for our stay. A high chair for a baby ( 1pc ) should be available in the breakfast area. 3 - My daughter stepped on a piece of glass on the floor in our room. We brought our own first aid kit but the hotel should have their own first aid kit accessible to visitors. i was not completely impressed with this hotel. the bathroom was very dirty, evenhaving mold on the walls in the bathroom. i also tried to close the latch over the lock on the inside of the door, and it broke off...right into my hand! it wasn't even a metal latch, it was gold looking plastic! the hotel is also not as close to times square as stated, […] which made it a little more difficult traveling with a 4 year old. the streets outside the hotel were very very dirty! it looked as if there were a couple of bags of trash that had been ripped apart, and poured all over the sidewalk. i don't think i would stay here again, and we frequently travel to new york. i was hoping for a better experience! The hotel lobby, breakfast room, and our room were quite clean. The staff were courteous and appeared competent. The only downside of our stay was the hotel location, a little way from Times Square. "3 nights in NYC"
Just my girls and I (mom) stayed from Monday through Thursday. I was a little worried because the hotel rating on line was 2.5 and we were trying to stay "not below 3". However the customer ratings were higher at 3.5 so I took a chance. Cost was important and this was affordable to us. (+) Staff: Made you feel that you were dealing with a quality […] hotel. Very helpful, friendly and professional. I was relieved when we arrived in our room. (+) Clean with quality bedding and pillows. Those were most important to me. In terms of space - it was a good thing that it was just us girls. Very small. Walking space around beds and that's about it. (+) Bathroom was clean; good water pressure; clean towels and face cloths; hairdryer. (-) They did claim to have free wi-fi which was important to us and our day to day planning. We were unable to access the internet. We tried every night without success. They referred us to their "tech support" who were friendly too but still it never worked. That was our biggest disappointment. (-) Concierge: not so much. Not sure if the lady on the first day spoke English. She just handed us a map. The next lady seemed more qualified but she then didn't have internet access. (+) Location was very convenient. We were just a few blocks from a convenient store, the subway and easy walking distance to Time Square. (+) I felt safe the entire time we were there and the walking that we did because the streets are so busy all the time. Sometimes, you feel you need to keep your eyes straight ahead and keep your game face on but that's to be expected in any big city. (+) Continental Breakfast: for real. (I've been to places that offer this and then throw some packaged muffins on the counter!!) They had fresh waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, croissants, cereal, fresh fruit, juices, coffee, tea. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Clean, very comfy bedding and pillows and the staff was very friendly and let us leave our bags prior to checking in and after checking out so we didn't have to drag it all over NYC with us. the only setback that I didn't care too much for was the fact that right next door was a male dance review and […] it was quite difficult to get around the crowd to get to the entrance of the hotel. as the night went on the crowd grew quite large but I must admit we didn't hear any noise from the street and I don't think this would prevent us from staying at this hotel in the future. Let me say upfront, if you are visiting NYC on a budget, and your not looking for a lot of added frills this place would be alright for you. It's location is a little off the beaten path, but not too far away from times square. However, the neighborhood at night where this is located, is questionable (make sure you are walking with another individual). […] There is a strip club right next door, so be aware! The hotel does offer free WIFI, but don't plan on doing any work. It has a very slow connection rate, so I just quit trying, and used my cell phone which has internet on it instead. The breakfast is nothing to get excited about. Actually, instead of eating here, and making the food yourself, you should walk up from the hotel and eat at this little place entitled "Hot 'n' Crusty's". I know an odd name, but very good food for a great price! The rooms itself are very small, but we didn't plan to spend a lot of time there. However, on my bedding were dark dirty marks, so I wasn't very please with that. The water pressure for a shower is not very good. It trickles down from the faucet! Also, their hair dryer, if you have long hair it will take a while to dry your hair. The noise level is very quiet though, and the front desk is very helpful! Just don't plan on checking in early! The hotel is located just off Times Square and the theatre district and is positioned perfectly for the subway for those who want to travel to other parts of New York. Nous n'avons pas eu de vol dans l'auto, pas de vol dans la chambre. Les lits […] sont vraiment confortable, les oreillers... Au bas se trouve la petite cuisinette ou il serve le petit déjeuner continental, il y a des céréales, des muffins, des croissants, des bagels, des omelettes, des saussisses, des confitures, du philadelphia, du jus, du lait, du café, etc. Vraiment très bon, pas beaucoup de place, mais tu montes le tout à la chambre et c'est presque parfait! Si tu arrives avant l'heure, ils prennent les bagages et les mettent dans une chambre et c'est très bien identifié donc pas de trouble pour perdre les bagages. Même chose pour lorsque tu quittes et que tu veux encore visiter, ils mettent les bagages dans une chambre et le tour est joué! Tu peux profiter de ta dernière journée.
