The room was as expected. I felt that the location was fair considering it's around everything in the city. The service was excellent too - and friendly! This European style hotel is well positioned between the East and West sides of NYC. It is only a few blocks from Penn Station and the Bolt bus drop-off making it extremely convenient to get to. Great location for my business trip. Very clean, but tiny rooms. However, you don't go to NYC to spend a lot of time in your room (travel to NY quite frequently). "Amazing"
I was stuck in nyc on a layover during SANDY and this was the best possible place to stay. The rooms were clean, and decently sized for ny. I booked my room on this site and was amazed at how cheap they were given the location, but when I arrived they were obviously sold out because of the upcoming storm, and the manager was at the front desk helping […] walk ins find rooms at other hotels so they had some place to go. Obviously all of the stores and restaurants were closed so they made a breakfast for all of the guests. When the power was out in the surrounding area, ours was on and they were unwavering in their help for me and the community. I had to reserve one night at a time through the week because of the fluctuation of the airlines and they were completely accommodating with my inability to commit. "Noisy and uncomfortable"
I expect to hear some street noise whenever I stay in New York City, but this was particularly bad, made worse by intermittent noise in the hall - a loud squeak (machinery noise? smoke alarm?) that woke me several times. "Respectable but not more than that"
This is the second time I have stayed in this European-style hotel for business purposes. The rooms are very small and limited in those "extra comfort" amenities one might get in a more upscale hotel. For example, the only chair in the room is a single desk chair, no easy chair or ottoman -- at least in part because the room isn't big enough to hold […] those additional pieces of furniture. That said, if your business requires you to be up and out early, with no expectation of returning until late, the rooms are entirely adequate. The Starbucks that is located immediately adjacent to the lobby check-in desk is a big plus. "Perfect When on a Budget"
I am thrilled to have stumbled upon this hotel. Yes, the rooms are small, but who stays in the room when in Manhattan?? When in the room, I had everything I needed and more. The bed was comfy, (plenty of pillows), nice big shower and clean bathroom. Good window air conditioner, TV and internet! Smallest hotel room I ever booked. No lobby, had to use employee restroom while waiting, but the room was clean and adequate, with big air conditioner blocking half the window.
