Typical small room, small elevator, garbage night is loud NYC hotel. If I had to go back for business, I'd check W first to see if the rates are decent but otherwise would stay again. "Not sure how the ratings got so high."
room was somewhat closet-like. Services in the hotel are minimal. Room was clean but had mostly bed and desk and the lights of times square flashing throughout the night. Other issue with this hotel is that the location on 44th street makes getting a cab very difficult. 3 other hotels grab them all before they get to this place. "Dead skin in sheets but nice decor otherwise"
There were flakes of dead skin in my bed, so, clearly, that was a huge negative. The room itself was spacious by Manhattan standards, and the bathroom was super clean, but, the ick in the bed was nasty. There were NO BBs however, so, relief there. The lobby was cheesy--the red sofas looked dirty and gross--and the elevators were old and ugly. The room […] decor was updated and attractive. Hotel and staff were excellent. I was unable to sleep because the mattress in room 709 was horrendous. I was literally crippled the next day and 4 days later my back still hurts. "Not Worth It"
I chose the hotel mainly because it was close to my corporate office. I was tempted by their "desires" offer. But a few problems... After filling out their lengthy "desires" program questionnaire - I never received the complimentary items they promised. Another really bad idea - the thick window curtains do not close! Too much light in the room at night […] for my sleep habits - not to mention modesty issues. The television did not work - every day had to wait 20 minutes for sound to come on, then it would randomly go off and on. "Excellent service with a few small issues"
The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. While there are no ice machines in the hotel, they will bring you an ice bucket to your room rather quickly. Some interesting notes, though. First, the thick curtains on the windows don't close, so you cannot create a dark room in which to sleep. Second, the sheets were not tucked under the mattress […] but rather simply laid on the bed. Also, the WI-FI ws terrible, but that may be because Times Square is so overwhelmed with cell phone signals and the like. "My new go to place"
I'm scared to rank this highly as I don't want the pricing to go up (or the demand). I am in NY about 6 times a year and this is my new place. The room was wonderfully clean and modern. My only complaint is the mattress was old and uncomfortable and nowhere near the condition of the room.
