"great quick getaway"

Construction across the street went on every night and was quite noisy . I booked my room just days before so I should have been advised that this would be going on. Breakfast was fine the first day. We skipped the second. On the third it seemed like they had run out of food and not replaced it. There was no black tea, apples or bananas for example. This hotel has an excellent location, short walk to the Empire State Building and Time Square/Broadway. We really liked the complimentary breakfast. The hotel staff was nice and friendly, which is not typical in New York. There is a parking garage nearby on the same street, just a block away. "Great experience"
Our recent stay at the Wingate Inn was perfect. We got to the hotel early, so our room was not ready for check in, and they stored our luggage for free. However, upon check out, they required a $5 fee per luggage item to store the bags. That is the only down side I found. Everything else was fine. Right near Madison Square Garden, the hotel is convenient to the subway/Penn Station. It's a bustling hotel with a lot of patrons, so if you're looking for a intimate getaway, this isn't the hotel for you. The location is just ok for the price , also considering that the room comes with a fridge and micro (not kitchenette at all) free breakfast is also a plus. The room smells when we first got in, we call housekeeping and it turns out it's coming from the bathroom ( a very disgusting odor ), someone came and clean it and the smell got a little better […] but it's still there. The front desk clerk specially the women has an attitude problem...we're just asking for direction since we're new at the area and it seems like they are getting upset, the other lady even rolled her eyes...like we are so stupid. "Wingate (Midtown) -- Comfortable and Convenient"
We booked a king room at the Wingate for three nights because we were in town for a Prince concert at Madison Square Garden, which was only 1 1/2 blocks from our hotel. While the block the hotel was on was sort of dreary, the immediate vicinty surrounding the block was fantastic. We had easy access to 4-5 different subway stations and were only a few […] blocks from Time Square (far enough to escape the noise and crowds but close enough to enjoy the area). This was also a great location for shopping -- Macy's and a ton of other major stores were right around the corner. The room itself was clean and surprisingly roomy. The front desk was generally helpful (e.g., we needed soap and they immediately brought us some). The breakfast was very hot and tasty, as well as a big time and money saver. Our room was clean every day when we got back. I only had two (minor) complaints: (1) the bathroom light kept short-circuiting, which is annoying when you are in the shower, and (2) it cost $5/bag to store your luggage after you checked out. Very happy with the Wingate. We had a room on the 10th floor and it was very quiet. We had no view but that was not important. We ate breakfast around 9:00 am every morning and it was very crowded but a good way to start your day. Very convenient to subways stations (35th Penn St). Heaps of dining options close by. 10 minute walk to Times Square. Hotel is about 18 stories high. No views. Fairly quiet area, noisiest thing is the air-conditioner (sounds like a truck). Hotel rooms are fairly small (ours had 2 doubles). The free wi-fi and breakfast was great. I had heard about lines […] for breakfast on other reviews but had no problems. Plenty of seats and plenty of food. They do charge $5 per bag for storage. 가족과 함께 뉴욕여행으로 5일을 보냈습니다. 저희 가족은 4명이라 queen size bec 2개 있는 방으로 예약했으나 체크인 당일 듀티 매니저가 사정이 생겨 킹사이즈 베드 한개만 있는 방밖에 없다고 하루만 묶어달라고 요청하여 적잖이 당황하였습니다. 화장실 팬에서 요란한 소리가 납니다. 예민한 분들은 신경많이 쓰일 듯 합니다. 그리고 약하게 하수구 냄새도 객실에서 맡을 수 있어서 비위가 좀 상하기도 했습니다. 장점은 아침포함,무선인터넷제공 그리고 메이시스 백화점에서 도보 5분 거리라 웬만한 명소는 걸어서 다닐 수 있습니다. 호텔위치가 중요하신 분들께만 추천하고 싶습니다. 호텔은 그다지 큰 규모가 아닙니다.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
