It's literally right across the street from MSG, so it is very convenient if you are going to a sporting event or concert there. The hotel is nice, the lobby is cool. The rooms are clean and comfortable. However, we checked in at like 5pm. You would think rooms are ready at this time, but they offered us and everyone else in front of me a free drink […] and appetizer at the bar if we waited an hour. That was fine, but the guy said free "dinner" at the desk, but when I got to the bar it was only "bar snacks". When I came back an hour later, they were still telling all the new people in line the same thing about waiting an hour. They did however give me my room at that time as promised. It's a nice hotel at a good price, but the whole rooms not being ready thing was just weird to me when we were there in the evening when you'd expect rooms to be ready. Overall its a good place and I'd consider staying there again. Read more

Good stuff first the rooms were very spacious and roomy, very clean. I believe the price I got on Hotel.com made it more that worthwhile. The bathroom was very small but i didnt have to sleep in bathroom. kitchenette was nice. My biggest complaint was lobby. I know they were remodeling but they didnt even have anywhere for u to sit temporary while remodeling […] is taking place to utilize interenet. Also no vending machines. This hotel was a great deal. The size if the room was huge for New York, with a giant bathroom and kitchenette. There was more than enough room for four, six if you have rollout beds. This is not a lovely boutique hotel, but it's fine. My husband and I just needed a place near the train to change clothes for an event and sleep over. The bathroom was clean; the sheets were acceptable; the room was tiny but just about all we needed. Because rooms are so expensive in NY, it was great to get a deal from hotels.com on Affinia.

The Affinia Manhattan has a terrific location close to Penn Station, our studio room was big by NYC standards adn very comfortable, and the staff is wonderful. They responded to requests, recognized when things weren't as they should be, and adjusted quickly. I wish we had known in advance that a lobby renovation is in progress. That wasn't a pleasant […] surprise, and advance warning would have helped our initial impression.I was in NYC on business and brought my husband and kids along. The location worked well as home base for both activities, and the kitchenette was a life-saver with kids along--very easy to have bagels, juice and fruit in the room and quickly accessible. This is not a high-end bright and shiny place, but does a very good job of staying stylish enough and keeping the price point right. And the responsive staff are terrific! Read more

My teenage daughter and I spent the night with her best friend and her Mom. We had a great time and The Affinia is perfect for hanging your hat. The staff was helpful. I truly feel this is a great hotel to stay and would recommend to others. Starbucks and Bagel Mania are across the street!

They were doing construction down stairs when we checked in, but you cant hear it at all from the 15th floor. The guy checking us in to the cleaning crew were all very nice. Greeted us and asked if we needed anything, The bell men helped us with our luggage when we needed to store it somewhere. The room was quite small, but I guess thats New York for […] you. We choose the Affinia due to the location. We were happy that it was located on 7th and within walking distance of restaurants and subways. Only about 11 blocks to Times Square. Hotel staff was friendly and even lent us umbrellas as it snowed a couple days we were there. The rooms were nice and roomy, noticeably renovated and even had a full kitchen. […] Only complaint about our experience would be 2 things. The first thing would be the size of the shower. It was so tiny that it was very uncomfortable to take a shower. The other thing was all the construction that was going on in the lobby which caused elevators to not work and the wait time to increase. I have stayed at this hotel a few times during past trips to NY. I have always had a suite located on a higher floor until this time. The hotel is clean and the staff is always helpfull. I will suggest spending the little extra money for a room on a higher floorso you do not have to deal with the noise of the traffic below. I didn't imagine a room that large in an area where most rooms are cookie-cutter box 'em in. I'd definitely stay again. The lobby is under renovation and you're not sure, but once you get up to your room, you're blown away.

Every preliminary request was honored, i.e., king bed, room location, late check out following change to daylight savings time, etc. Room was spacious and well configured, but the closet was oddly shaped and equipped. Storage drawer unit disallowed more than one long item to be hung (coat, dress, trousers) without draping over it. Also, suitcase storage […] space prevented the drawers from being used in the first place. When bathroom sink drain plug was missing, it was fixed immediately. However, speaking of the bathroom, it's very small and cramped. Sink is free standing and has virtually no space for toiletry items, etc. Two small glass shelves to the side helped, but were inadequate. A bit frustrating. More so was that neither thermostat in the room worked. When reported, the concierge simply asked what temperature we wanted. We had no independent climate control. Hotel location is good, but noise comes with the territory. During the night, though, it was fine. Surprisingly, there aren't many places to eat in the immediate vicinity. In general, however, our experience was pleasant. We would stay there again. Read more

It wasn't the most magnificent hotel I've ever stayed at, but it was also far from the worst. The location couldn't have been better for the trip. It was a girls weekend and there were 4 of us staying in a room. We have enough room without problems. There was an incident with a cockroach on the wall, but the hotel housekeeping manager responded promptly, […] got rid of it, and send a nice bottle of wine to the room. Also, we requested to have the bathroom cleaned just because that's where we found the extra roommate, and that was done promptly as well. They even offered to let us move rooms. The beds were comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. Our flight didn't leave until 7pm and they let us keep our bags there after we checked out at 12 so we could get a few more sights in. The in hotel bar was great, and the food was pretty good as well. Overall, it's safe to say I would stay there again if I needed a hotel in the city. Read more

Stayed there for three days with three of us (parents and child) and enjoyed the stay mostly because of the location: if you'recoming to NY by Amtrak, it's literally half a block from the 7th Ave exit. Affinia is an older NY hotel, still undergoing with some renovations. The room was nothing special. The service was good. There's a helpful information […] desk in the center of the lobby to help you around town. Even on the 11th floor it was a bit noisy--7th and 31st is a busy place.
