Starving artists revitalized SoHo and TriBeCa, two former industrial centers. Although the factories are long gone, their cast iron and mason buildings remain, now housing art galleries, high-end retail, and some of the city’s best restaurants. Robert De Niro’s TriBeCa Film Festival helped reestablish the area as a cultural zone after the 9/11 attacks. Nearby, Chinatown expands into Little Italy.see all hotels in New York
"Not worth the money...."
The hotel is not worth the money! Ripped bed sheets, two light bulbs were out. There was no 24 hour parking nearby (within 2 blocks or so). Better off at the W, The Standard, Smyth or even the SoHo Grand. Very Disappointed!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tribeca Grand - a very tired hotel"
This is a very tired hotel. If they are trying to sell pizzazz, they are missing it by a wide mark. The lights are low -- maybe to hide the scruffiness? And the radio they have in the rooms is a crummy knockoff of a Sony that does not work. Tribeca's owners, let me know when you've put $20,000,000 into your infrastructure and I'll return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't stay here if you need sleep"
Room was clean except for mould in shower. Staff, with the exception of the great receptionist who checked us in were uninterested. Real downside was the LOUD music playing in centre atrium until 4am - we were on the 5th of 8 floors so I pity anyone on the floors below us. We were offered complimentary bfast as we were grabbing a cab to the airport […] - a heads up that there was an all night rave before we checked in would've been appreciated. Great place for a party - not a place to sleep. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
