Who needs a fitness center when you’re a short walk from 2 of New York’s best parks? At Central Park, a half-mile east, miles of trails offer breathtaking views of the surrounding skyscrapers. Popular walking and running routes include Central Park Drive (closed to traffic during scheduled hours), the path around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, and the Ramble, which is also known for bird-watching. You can also rent a bicycle or rowboat at the boathouse. Or, if you’re visiting in winter, go for a spin on the park’s Wollman Rink; skate rentals are available. Riverside Park, a 5-minute walk west of the hotel, features running and walking paths along the Hudson River.

Buildings crane above one another to claim views of Central Park, a piece of real estate valued at more than $528 billion. Surprises abound in its 843 acres. The grounds include a castle, a zoo, several lakes, and an Egyptian obelisk. A city that never sleeps needs its quiet time, too: Central Park has six designated “quiet zones,” including Strawberry Fields, the monument to John Lennon.

"Cozy!"
I had a nice small cozy room. Needed a location to get away with my mistress. The room was incredibly small and so was the bath. But very clean. Love how quiet it was. If you need a bed, shower and a spot to entertain this is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel"
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Belnord Hotel Mar 8th-10th. When we arrived our room was ready so we went straight upstairs. When I opened the door I was extremely disappointed. The room was literally a BOX. We could barely get inside or move around at the same time. However, the service was great, our room was cleaned and we recieved fresh towels […] and sheets while we were out (and none of our things were stolen). The location of the hotel is THE BEST. The train is one block away on 86th Street, the movies is a few blocks away on 82nd and just a few train stops is Times Square 42nd street. Overall we enjoyed our stay just wish the rooms were more spacious Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Welcome to the Land of the Lilliputians"
The room was tiny. And that's no exaggeration. We had read reviews that mentioned the size of the room but this was ridiculous. Two bedstands, one bed, and roughly a 2.5 foot pathway around the bed, no chair, no place to put luggage, a bathtub the size of a postage stamp -- do they really make fixtures that small? The neighborhood was nice, but there […] wasn't anything particularly friendly about the staff, other than one smiling maid I saw as I wound my way through the maze of tiny corridors. The price was great for NYC, but really, I think too much for a room with such a lack of -- anything. No hooks for the wet towels, barely room to turn around. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK"
We stayed for 5 nights at the Upper West Side, and had a nice stay. The staff was overall helpful and nice, and the standard was good for an two-three star hotel. The room was suprisingly small!!, but we were there to enjnoy the city, not the hotelroom.. Easy enough to get downtown with the subway very close, so for the price we paid it was the best […] alternative we had available! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Booked on the fly"
For a hotel that was chosen randomly and on a whim, it wasn't bad at all. I was in the city for a show & dinner and spur of the moment decided to spend the night. The room was smaller than expected but clean and comfortable. The air conditioning left something to be desired because it wasn't cooling the room as hoped despite being set down to 60 degrees. […] The television unfortunately also was fuzzy and only had two decent channels from cable, everything else seemed to be from public access. I would use it again in a pinch. "Good location, cramped quarters."
My husband and I wanted to go to NYC for our one year anniversary and we wanted a hotel close to central park and broadway. The location of the hotel and price is the only bonus of this hotel. You get what you pay for. Upon arrival the room we were given had an overflowing toilet so we got upgraded from a room and bathroom the size of a walk-in closet […] to the next floor where we at least werent facing a dark brick wall. Rooms walls are paper thin, shower floods bathroom if you dont tuck in the shower curtain, and many customers we encountered checking-in and out were raising voiced with management. Its close to the subway like 1 block away, if you just want a place to store your stuff and sleep this is what you want. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location"
If you don't mind small spaces, the Belnord is in the perfect location: close to Riverside Park,Central Park, many great restaurants. It is very clean and modern, though the lack of drawers may be a detriment to some. Very compact rooms, but reasonable rates.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great location - clean neighborhood with lots of food offerings! Cozy room - not much of it even by NY standards!! We only slept there so it didn't matter. "EXCELLENT find in NYC"
I had read the rooms were small (and they are) but they are spotless, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, you are close to shops, subway and food and for the price you paid - there is no other place to stay! Thank you Belnord Hotel, for a truly amazing stay in the Big Apple.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"
First, the Good: This is one of the cleanest hotels I've ever seen. They do a phenomenal job of keeping this old place looking new and sparkly. Next, the Bad: The room was 1.5 feet wider than the double bed that filled it. The bathroom was so small you needed to step out to pull up your pants. Finally, the Ugly: Because this hotel opted for hardwood […] floors in all rooms and hallways, the noise was ridiculously loud. Even whispers carried down the length of the corridors, and walls were paper thin. I didn't sleep AT ALL. I can say without reservation that this was the worst night I've ever had in a hotel -- EVER. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Tiny Rooms, but really clean"
The room was the smallest I have ever slept in(!), but everything was cleaned very good every day. Located a block from the subway, and lots of places to eat nearby. Good alternative for one person, or two people that don't mind living on top of each other.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just Don't Go Here."
The rooms are way smaller than suggested by the pictures. The staff is rude and unwelcoming, they are neither helpful or willing. I would have never gone there if I knew what I know now, so I suggest you just take my advice. Sincerely, Never Going BackGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Tiny Tiny rooms but good way to save a dollar"
The hotel room was the smallest ever. No onsite parking, must use the public parking garage one block away. The hotel clerk claimed we would get 25% off of the $40 parking rate in fact we only got $5 off. The parking attendant pretends to not underrstand english whenever we asked about our entire $10 discount. The bright side is that the room is nice […] and affordable which was helpful because EVERYTHING in the area was priced DOUBLE what we were used to paying coming out of Michigan. However, if you have a problem with extremely tiny living quarters this is not the place for you. Two people cant pass each other in the hallways of this hotel without turning to the side to get by and good luck carrying more than one bag down the hallway at a time. They actually made us leave a credit card for "incidentals" but there were NO incidental options! This made me think they were a little crooked. No food service, no movies nothing! Yet they wanted a card number. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Belnord Hotel - nice place on a budget"
We really liked this hotel. We were fully expeting a very small room, which it was. The room was recently remodeled and very nice. New furniture, tile, sink, tub, etc. Like other reviews, the cable was pretty bad, but we werent there to watch TV so it was no bid deal. Good, safe location, which was close to the subway and therefore close to everything. […] The staff was kinda rude, but thats part of the NYC experience. Was nervous about the bedbugs but didnt see any nor did we have any bites. There are no hotel amenties as far as a restaurant, breakfast, paper, pool. Nothing like that, just a clean place to sleep, which is all we wanted. Would def stay here again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, convenient, but a little claustrophobic"
First the positives...We loved the location of the hotel in the upper west side of town. Less than a block to the Broadway subway line and a 10 minute walk to the museum of natural history and central park. The surrounding neighborhoods are clean, family friendly, and a slightly slower way of life than the Times Square or Park Ave. areas. As for the […] room, it was clean and no bed bugs. Now the negatives, the room was very small (as expected). It is literally large enough for a double bed and a small night stand. That was it. It was fine for one person but quickly became cramped for two. It was fine for us as we only used the room to sleep, but if you are the type to hang out in the hotel then go elsewhere. Also, be prepared to live out of your suitcase as storage was non-existent. Our only other criticism is that the hotel staff was not overly warm. They only spoke when spoken to and never wore a smile on their face. With all that said, we would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The room is very small as we'd expected reading others review. But it was very nice and clean. If you don't care about stay inside your room....is a good choice. "Bring Ear Plugs"
Bring Ear Plugs. The walls are paper thin and rooms are the smallest I've ever stayed in....and I've been in a lot of hotels. The bed was a "double bed"....not a Queen or King. The mouse/rat traps under the bed were an unpleasant touch. This hotel is in a nice location, but do not stay here if you want to get any sleep. The pillows felt like sacks […] of popcorn and the bedspreads smelled as if they hadn't been washed in months. My wife and I had to share a towel because they only put one in the room and by the time you get out of the shower... it's a little late to call the front desk to request a second one. The place is clean, and looks like it was recently renovated so it's not all bad, but I would not recommend this to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Better than I expected..."
The hotel was much better than I expected. Very clean and with a very comfy bed. Staff were friendly too. Thank god it had air conditioning because there was a heat wave in NYC while we were there. The only draw back to the room was the cable tv we had in our room, but we didn't really care because we didn't go to NYC to watch TV. Overall I would for […] sure recommend this hotel.
