Buildings crane above one another to claim views of Central Park, a piece of real estate valued at more than $528 billion. Surprises abound in its 843 acres. The grounds include a castle, a zoo, several lakes, and an Egyptian obelisk. A city that never sleeps needs its quiet time, too: Central Park has six designated “quiet zones,” including Strawberry Fields, the monument to John Lennon.see all hotels in New York
"Great location but small room"
The hotel is really close to the 1 red line of the subway, which makes really easy to go around the city. The rooms are small, but looks really clean and new.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Get over the small rooms"
OK, the rooms are small, but this hotel is in a prime location (upper West Side), very clean, has an excellent staff and budget priced for Manhattan. You are three blocks from Central Park, one from the bus line and subway, surrounded by great local restaurants. Being a bit cramped is more than worth it. We will certainly stay here again. The money […] we saved on the room alone, paid for a Broadway show. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close and Comfortable!!! Hardwood floors!"
Our overall experience at this hotel was great! Although not much time was spent in the room, the time spent there was very pleasant. The room was indeed compact but it was clean and it had all a couple would need for a stay in the city. The per floor common area was very clean and was equipped with a kitchenette and phone. We were so comfortable we […] decided to extend out stay. The staff members were polite and accommodating. It was close to public transportation and several restaurants. Great experience! "Living in a closet"
The room was much too small for the price, only around 10'x12', and we had one of the larger rooms based on viewing several others. The bathroom was tiny, only around 4' x 7'. One always had to be careful not to bump into things maneuvering around. The view was nonexistent, a cinder block wall across a small alley. At least we had a window we could […] open for some fresh air. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Really Tiny, but Fine"
A lot of people had mentioned in reviews how small the rooms are. Despite knowing this, the size of the room still surprised me. It's tiny! Luckily, I was pretty much just there to sleep, so it wasn't a big deal. If you're looking to sit around, have a closet, or enjoy anything resembling luxury, this is not for you. However, given the nice neighborhood […] and price point, it was worth it! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small, but convenient and affordable"
Extremely close to central park and Subway stations. Takes only 10 to 15 minutes to be in Central Park, Times Square, or lower Manhattan. The rooms are tiny, but when all you need is a place to sleep for the night, it is perfect. The cheapest hotel anywhere near that location that I can find.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Small but clean room. Location is good. Could provide better amenities for the price!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Small for the priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I had a nice small cozy room. Needed a location to get away with my mistress. The room was incredibly small and so was the bath. But very clean. Love how quiet it was. If you need a bed, shower and a spot to entertain this is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Belnord Hotel Mar 8th-10th. When we arrived our room was ready so we went straight upstairs. When I opened the door I was extremely disappointed. The room was literally a BOX. We could barely get inside or move around at the same time. However, the service was great, our room was cleaned and we recieved fresh towels […] and sheets while we were out (and none of our things were stolen). The location of the hotel is THE BEST. The train is one block away on 86th Street, the movies is a few blocks away on 82nd and just a few train stops is Times Square 42nd street. "Welcome to the Land of the Lilliputians"
The room was tiny. And that's no exaggeration. We had read reviews that mentioned the size of the room but this was ridiculous. Two bedstands, one bed, and roughly a 2.5 foot pathway around the bed, no chair, no place to put luggage, a bathtub the size of a postage stamp -- do they really make fixtures that small? The neighborhood was nice, but there […] wasn't anything particularly friendly about the staff, other than one smiling maid I saw as I wound my way through the maze of tiny corridors. The price was great for NYC, but really, I think too much for a room with such a lack of -- anything. No hooks for the wet towels, barely room to turn around. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed for 5 nights at the Upper West Side, and had a nice stay. The staff was overall helpful and nice, and the standard was good for an two-three star hotel. "Booked on the fly"
For a hotel that was chosen randomly and on a whim, it wasn't bad at all. I was in the city for a show & dinner and spur of the moment decided to spend the night. The room was smaller than expected but clean and comfortable. The air conditioning left something to be desired because it wasn't cooling the room as hoped despite being set down to 60 degrees. […] The television unfortunately also was fuzzy and only had two decent channels from cable, everything else seemed to be from public access. I would use it again in a pinch. "Good location, cramped quarters."
My husband and I wanted to go to NYC for our one year anniversary and we wanted a hotel close to central park and broadway. The location of the hotel and price is the only bonus of this hotel. You get what you pay for. Upon arrival the room we were given had an overflowing toilet so we got upgraded from a room and bathroom the size of a walk-in closet […] to the next floor where we at least werent facing a dark brick wall. Rooms walls are paper thin, shower floods bathroom if you dont tuck in the shower curtain, and many customers we encountered checking-in and out were raising voiced with management. Its close to the subway like 1 block away, if you just want a place to store your stuff and sleep this is what you want. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Great location - clean neighborhood with lots of food offerings! Cozy room - not much of it even by NY standards!! We only slept there so it didn't matter. "EXCELLENT find in NYC"
I had read the rooms were small (and they are) but they are spotless, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, you are close to shops, subway and food and for the price you paid - there is no other place to stay! "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"
First, the Good: This is one of the cleanest hotels I've ever seen. They do a phenomenal job of keeping this old place looking new and sparkly. Next, the Bad: The room was 1.5 feet wider than the double bed that filled it. The bathroom was so small you needed to step out to pull up your pants. Finally, the Ugly: Because this hotel opted for hardwood […] floors in all rooms and hallways, the noise was ridiculously loud. Even whispers carried down the length of the corridors, and walls were paper thin. I didn't sleep AT ALL. I can say without reservation that this was the worst night I've ever had in a hotel -- EVER. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny Rooms, but really clean"
The room was the smallest I have ever slept in(!), but everything was cleaned very good every day. Located a block from the subway, and lots of places to eat nearby. Good alternative for one person, or two people that don't mind living on top of each other.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just Don't Go Here."

"Tiny Tiny rooms but good way to save a dollar"
The hotel room was the smallest ever. No onsite parking, must use the public parking garage one block away. The hotel clerk claimed we would get 25% off of the $40 parking rate in fact we only got $5 off. The parking attendant pretends to not underrstand english whenever we asked about our entire $10 discount. The bright side is that the room is nice […] and affordable which was helpful because EVERYTHING in the area was priced DOUBLE what we were used to paying coming out of Michigan. However, if you have a problem with extremely tiny living quarters this is not the place for you. Two people cant pass each other in the hallways of this hotel without turning to the side to get by and good luck carrying more than one bag down the hallway at a time. They actually made us leave a credit card for "incidentals" but there were NO incidental options! This made me think they were a little crooked. No food service, no movies nothing! Yet they wanted a card number. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We got a great deal on our hotel. It was an extremely small room but it served its purpose. Free wifi was a great bonus. The hotel was near the 1 subway line which we used on a more than frequent basis. I would recommend this hotel to those visiting nyc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Small rooms but overall okay - working location"
Even though we did read about the small rooms we were still surprised about how small they actually were :) I mean, pushing the door open and it literally hits the bed. There's barely room to walk around the bed. The bathroom door opens inside and you have to back up to shower to get it closed. It was almost funny. The view was to a not so beautiful […] alley behind the hotel. So we didn't enjoy too much time in the room, but everything else was okay: room was clean, service was New Yorkish, but okay. They did have a parking service for about 35 USD + taxes, which is okay I guess, you have to ask it from the front desk though or you pay higher rate, the parking is one block away, no valet. There's also a subway station on the same street and it's quite close to Central Park. Location offers nice walking possibilities on the upper west side. If you're not claustrophobic, this might be an okay and affordable choice :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"No nonsense stay at Bel Nord"
For what we paid this is an excellent upper west side location. The rooms was small but perfectly adequate for our 3 nights stay as we spent very little time in the hotel other then to sleep. The hotel has wifi which was useful in planning trips so pretty much had everything we need and try and get a corner room as the walls are kind of thin. Central […] Park is no more then a 5-10 minute stroll and there are lots of nice cafe's and places to eat as well as a Starbucks and dunkin donuts for those with more basic requirements. The rooms in this hotel are very small, but also very, very clean. The staff were helpful with any questions or concerns but didn't exactly bend over backwards to ensure your satisfaction. "Forego luxury for convenience"
We were looking to do "New York on a budget" - a challenge in itself. But, by staying at Belnord Hotel, we managed to get, not only an excellent price for our stay, but a very clean little room, with a private bathroom - also located in a great neighbourhood, with plenty of reasonably priced restaurants, and within walking distance to Central Park, […] the subway line, and excellent overnight parking fees.
