Let the West Coast have Hollywood; Broadway’s lights are just as bright, and many screen actors come to the Great White Way to gain acting credibility. Area attractions include Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Resplendent St. Patrick’s Cathedral takes up a block at Fifth and 50th. Once seedy, Times Square now hosts ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.

There were two of us and the room could barely accomadate us and our luggage. The bed felt like an over sized twin bed. If traveling alone with only a carry on bag it could be okay. No desk or chair or furniture other than the bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"An Alright Stay"
To be honest I wasn't expecting luxury as I certainly didn't pay for it. Nevertheless I wasn't entirely pleased with my room as I felt like I was placed in a dimly lit box. However the service desk was accommodating and friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Overall hotel is quiet good location to Times Square! That is the plus for staying at the hotel. Comfortable rooms a bit small but couldn't be the price. Definitely disappointed about paying for Internet should be included or free of charge. Bar is kool laid back atmosphere but it was all about convenience and location...Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Value in Outstanding Location"
If you are looking for a convenient and clean value property you won't be disappointed. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the room it might be on the small side, but I've spent enough time in NYC to understand this is the norm. I stayed 2 nights and was happy enough that I already booked another night for my visit next week.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very midtown"
It's a very very manhattan hotel. It's very quiet. It's not extravagant by any means but it is nice. Had an issue - took it up with the staff and they were super nice and helpful. Overall a good experience- great location and great price. Watch out for the super high WIFI surcharge. Go to Starbucks a block away- it's worth the 20$.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"European Charm in Midtown Manhattan"
The rooms are small but not cramped. The location was perfect in relation to my wife's convention. Having lived in New York, I would not normally stay in Midtown. However, we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the hotel was even on a weekend. Great value!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Good Stay for the Price"
The location is about three blocks from Times Square - and less than $100 for the room? It's unheard of! And this isn't a horrible hotel - you do give up amenities (no fitness center / business center / room service), but you're in Manhattan and why the heck would you want to have room service when you have hundreds of restaurants right outside your […] door? The room itself was tight ... the bed was 5/6ths of the total room space and the bathroom was small. But, I've paid $250/night and gotten a marginally larger room, so things are always tight in Manhattan. That aside, the room was clean, staff was friendly and the bed was very comfortable. So - if you're looking to spend your money on doing things in NYC instead of paying for your hotel room, then this is the place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The room was big and had alot of space to walk around. King bed was extremely comfortable. The steam radiator was annoying and loud. Kept waking us up all night. If it wasn't for that radiator it would be my favorite ny hotel. The location is great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The location is great because you are around the corner from time square and walking distance to central park. The room is nice. It is clean, and up to date with the times. "Very Nice"
Great location, very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Upgraded my room without a request. I had a king deluxe room that was very nice. Like all hotel rooms in NYC, the bathroom was very small but everything was clean and worked. I would definitely stay here again and I do recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny rooms, hard bed, need to update windows."
I certainly got what I paid for. The room was 7'x7', not including the bathroom. Good thing it was just me in the room. My room was level with the air con unit of the building next door and it squeeled all night. The weather turned while I was there and the window didn't keep the cold out. The radiator was noisy too once that got going. The woman checking […] me in took a personal call just as I was checking in and stayed on the phone the entire time chatting and then shoe'd me away when I started asking questions about the continental breakfast. Unless you are young, small and can sleep through anything, not worth saving $100/night. Go somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient, hidden gem"
I loved my stay, and will be using the Amsterdam court very often in the future. A bit of warning though, if you sharing a room with another guest, be aware the rooms are very small. It reminded me of my stays in Europe with smaller accommodations. The room is great, location can't be any better. You are in the middle of times square but do not hear […] a thing at night. What is better than that? Great for a quick trip, will be coming back soon! Thank you! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel is great for location, it is just a little past the point of needing some repair. The staff was very nice, but the rooms need a little work, not run down, but a little worn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location, tiny room"
This is (at best) a 2.5 star hotel... more likely a 2-star. As long as you don't have any high expectations, and only plan to sleep in your room... no room to work in the room (no desk, a single chair that isn't really usable)... the room is really, really really small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Get what you pay for"
I thought the price seemed too good to be true with this hotel, and I was right. Postage stamp sized room that did not even have a closet or a wardrobe - required me to hang my cloths in the shower rod. The lot next door is under construction so very very loud jack hammers throughout the day. Spectacular view of the back end of a warehouse turned into […] parking garage. "Proper Expectations"
This hotel is in a fantastic location! Times Square is a couple of blocks away, Rockefeller Center and NBC are probably 4-5 blocks away, many Broadway theatre's are down the street, Letterman's theatre is right around the corner, and there are an untold number of entertainment options in short walking distance. It is probably the most reasonably priced […] hotel in the vicinity. The rooms are tiny and cramped but clean, and if a comfortable, spacious, clean hotel room is what you want, don't stay here and you will have to pay at least twice as much. It's all about location and a reasonable rate. Besides, if you just want to relax in a room, New York is the wrong destination for you. There are many other destinations where you will get much more room for the money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Totally Misrepresented by Internet Profile"
The hotel room showers had mold. The shower head was missing. The air conditioner unit in the window did not work. The TV was a 1970 model at best. The hotel room was terrible, if I had not been constrained by my business schedule in New York, I would not have stayed the one night I stayed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, rooms lacking"
Location of the hotel is superb; overall common areas pretty good. Individual room not so good. Beware that at present there is a big hole next door full of construction equipment - noise so bad the room was uninhabitable from about 7 am to 4:30 pm. There was a wall 6 inches in front of the toilet so you have to sit sideways. Plus a heating pipe that […] would burn you if you got too close. Air conditioner was pretty much useless. Clock radio didn't work. No baths as the drain was broken. Hard to justify three stars, even considering Manhattan inflation. I'll choose a different hotel next time. "Too noisy by air conditionins system, and hard to sleep."
Heating system in the room was on and the room temperature rose up to 86 degrees, naturally I could not sleep in the bed. At the same time, a big air conditioning system of the hotel (building) was in front of my room window which caused seamless noise. Overall experience as a stay for business purpose was not good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Well located, does the trick"
For anyone staying in NY for a couple of days that needs easy access to subway and cabs etc. at a decent price, this place is a good fit. "Pictures are misleading, I'd go somewhere else"
I've stayed in many hotels in New York, so I wasn't surprised by the actual size of our room. However, in comparison to the images shown on hotels.com as well as the hotel's website, the room was quite different with regard to size and look and feel. We checked in to find there were no more King rooms available, so my husband and I slept in separate […] beds our first night and then were moved to the King room we had reserved for the remainder of our stay - no change in room rate, by the way. The 19" Zenith TV with "cable" that goes in and out was disappointing. After working all day and going out to eat with my husband at night, all we wanted to do was unwind in our room, but we had to switch channels every so often as the cable would go out on the channel we were watching. Our bed was OK - definitely not the most comfortable bed I've stayed in, the window air conditioner rattled, hot water took about 10 minutes and our door to the hallway looked like it didn't shut all the way. Unfortunately my work had me coming in to town on the heels of fashion week, so our normal group of hotels was booked. The location is nice, but if you want to stay in Times Square, try checking other hotels first. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"I swore I would never stay here again....."
I stayed here about 3 years ago, and after that experience, I crossed it off my list. Besides inadequate air conditioning, there was some sort of flood and my carpet was soaked. No offer to move me or reduce charges. This trip, I could not find anything under $500 a night so I took the chance that they renovated or at least spruced the place up. The […] room "looked" better when I first walked in, but I can't tell you how many things bothered me. The air con was good but was a window unit running full blast 24 x 7 and it was loud! The TV was an old 19 inch piece of junk. The phone had the label ripped off, the bathroom window would not close (there was construction outside - not their fault) but dust and noise came in). there was no conditioner, and the shampoo was watered down, and there was no mirror in front of the sink! The breakfast was not even worth it. You have to pay for internet too which is ridiculous these days. The staff was the only good part - nice and friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I wasn't expecting much but my room was clean, bathroom was clean, and it served its purpose. "Cramped Quarters"
Small room is no problem in NYC, but King bed took up the room, old TV barely worked and only a shower in the "bath." Add to that, the world's smallest & slowest elevator (main was being repaired) and you have a flavor of what you can expect. The redeeming quality is the friendliness of the staff (although an elevator full of 4 maintenance/housekeeping […] people plus a housekeeping cart merely smiled at us when the door to the ONLY elevator working opened one morning). The staff at the registration desk and the doorman did a wonderful job of covering a host of disappointments and shortfalls! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"In a pinch"
If you need a place in Manhattan cheap in a pinch (and you are a male 20 to 50 by yourself) it's not the worst place to land. Only one elevator working during my visit which meant stairs most of the time. Construction next door started 7am each morning, pile driver and jackhammers. Room was clean but as per usual for lower price nyc hotels, no space […] to spare. Couples and families need not apply. Was clean, bed was passable. Location great.
