We were upgraded to the penthouse for a week because we were accidetally given a room key to a room that was already occupied. The staff was very apologetic and we definitely appreciated the upgrade. They are still renovating rooms, but from what we saw they're doing a great job. In fact it reminded me of how The Roosevelt in Hollywood is decorated. […] The elevators were really slow, but in NY you're lucky if your hotel has an elevator so we didn't mind. The location of the hotel is perfect! Next door to Duane Read (aka Walgreens), the Subway is right on the corner (only 2 stops away from Times Square), tons of little shops, bars, and restaurants, as well as a movie theater in Lincoln Square to walk to if you want to stay in the neighborhood. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to NY that wants to be close enough to all the tourist stuff, and still have the option of having everything around them if they want to stay next to their hotel. we stayed on the 12th floor-- king bed room was spacious enough for the two of us and very clean. older hotel but he top floors have been renovated and everything in our room seemed new--wi fi provided in room, coffee, iron, flat screen TV, friendly staff. Friendly and helpful cleaning staff. Professional but too busy receptionist. The trip advisor was not helpful, gave as poor instructions when she sold us a tickte for a trip to and outlet. Location is very close to the metro whith express trains to the most important locations such ans 42nd and 34th street.

I usually read the reviews before booking and was a bit wary of this hotel. But the last couple of reviews were glowing, so we decided to give it a try. Especially since I've been to the days inn at Yankees stadium and thought it was clean and decent for the price. The lobby looked nice but that was it. Our room was on the 10th floor and it was dirty. […] The carpet was worn and permanently stained brown. There was white stains and used matches on the floor. The wall paper was peeling near the outlets. The tv was outdated and had no hdmi. If we were staying more than one night we'd have requested another room. The bed looked clean but given the state of the room, I wasn't to sure. It was a smoking room and the smell was heavy enough to make me wonder when did the last guest leave. Read more

At first glance the hotel is very nice. The elevators were scary going down. Felt like we were going to get stuck. There are alot of rooms on each floor with red carpet that make it look like something out of a scary movie. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great location in the upper West Side at 94th and Broadway. Subway one block away and Central Park is 3 blocks away. Safe area to walk around with many good deli's and places to eat. Overall, The Days Hotel was great. Excellent service by the staff, very helpful. Great location, right by the subway. The rooms were cozy, maybe a bit small for some people's taste, but fine for me. The only complaint I would have would be the small elevators. It was harder to fit more than 4 people in at once, especially with your luggage.

We used this hotel for the price. We were pleased. The room and bath was clean. The carpet needs to be the next thing they redo but we were mostly out and about in this great city. When we do another trip in the spring we will stay here again.

The Days Hotel Broadway was perfect for my stay. You have the 96th Street subway stop on the same block as the hotel along with tons of other convenient places around. Within the block of the hotel you've got a CVS pharmacy, and several cafes to stop and eat 24 hrs a day! Central Park is a close 2 1/2 blocks away, which was lovely. The door to the room had a big gap all way around, so we could see people walking in the hallway from our bed. But the worst thing about the hotel were the staff. Most of the time they ignored us, but when we got to talk with them they laughed of our questions, they didn't want to make a reservation for a restaurant visit for us, and they seem really […] bothered when we in general wanted to ask them anything. Also the high-speed internet were very slow, and only worked in the lobby. The elevators didn't work as they should, stopped in the wrong floors all the time, and we had to wait at least 10 min every time we were going to use it. I never need nor want more than a decently clean place to sleep and to take a shower when I go to NYC. This hotel completely sufficed. I'm not picky about how the walls look or how the carpet looks, or how old the infrastructure is, so not much really bothers me. We stayed 10 nights and it was every day very clean. The subway is on the next corner, and although it´s on the Broadway on Upper West Side, it´s very quiet. We were very happy, we get a nice price and for New York it was very cheap. Unfortunately there is no internet, only wifi, but for internet you have to go to starbucks (in the "business center" […] (a little room with 3 computer) were internet, but 2 Dollar for a half hour was to expensive and the front desk can´t change money). For the price that we paid we expected quality service. We had organised a King Room and the hotel was meant to be a treat for us. We arrived before check in and the hotel offered to look after our luggage but did not offer to carry it for us. They also refused to have it delivered to the room. The room had an old TV - no flat screen TV's at Days Inn. […] The curtains were held back with velcro. The plug hole around the bath tub was rusted but worst of all, the radiator was obviously not screwed in correctly and made the sound of a screaming kettle every 10 minutes when the radiator boiled. The reception sent up a maintenance man who's only solution was to turn the heating off and give us a 5 fin oil heater - in January! Reception assured us that every room had the same sounding radiators. We strongly recommend AGAINST staying here. We found much nicer privately owned hotels closer to central park and the subways after we checked out. Read more

Very satisfied with our stay at this hotel but be warned to book early. It really depends on what room you get. For the first week had a nice large room with a view of the main street which we loved. Went back a week later for 2 nights and booked when we got there at 8 in the evening and the room we got was a bit disappointing. A lot smaller and with […] very little light coming into the window due to the fact there was another building right beside us and that the building we were in protruded on the left and right side out further that our room leaving us in the real shadows. Still was nice enough anyway. Bathrooms grand beds are really comfortable, TV channels are limited but some good things are on most of the time. Loved the room, lobby downstairs was nice, small gym with 3 or 4 running machines which we never went into, three computers which are a rip off and slow at $2 for 8 mins but did the job sometimes. Phones were a pain to try use. Nice place overall in a great location. Streets outside are grand with a nice cafe at the corner across from the main entrance which is open until very late at night, pharmacy right beside the hotel too, and around the corner to the right a chinese restaurant called the Long Grain which I really really recommend. Best of all the subway station is right beside the place too so you can get to Times Square in 15 minutes and walk to central park in 20. Read more

This hotel was reasonably priced, and 1 min to the subway 96st. Hotel was a 2 stars, and priced accordingly. The only problem the wifi was not working on my floor after my first day, and reported the issue several times. They did not know what the problem, at first they thought it was only me that was having the problem then others reported the same […] issues, and they still did not sort it out . This was damned annoying as I would to go to the lobby constantly. I know everything in New York is expensive, but this hotel was so expensive (compared to the other 7 we stayed at on our 3 week trip right around the USA) and what we received for the money paid was very disappointing.
