You don't have to spend a fortune to have a fantastic time in New York. "Cozy hotel for a family vacation"
After quite a bit of research on line, I decided to stay at Days Broadway Hotel. I was very happy with my choice. The room had two double beds and was a large room compared to others I had looked at. It seems that New York standards are different than other vacation destinations. The rooms are smaller and the cost is higher, but hey, its New York! Things […] are more expensive there. The hotel was nice and clean, housekeeping came everyday and made the beds and left fresh towels. They will not touch your personal items so if you leave anything on the bed it will not get made. My son left his laptop on the bed one day and that bed was not made but the other bed was made as usual. We are not demanding guests, so we did not have any special requests. The room was fine for the price we paid. The only issue we had was that the water for the shower in the morning was not so warm (although it was fine the night before). "3 night stay at Days Hotel - disappointed."
Location is excellent - it's right next to a subway station and there are many shops in the local neighbourhood. The room, however, was rather small and squishy, and the massive cube of a tv that took up a whole corner of a room was not helpful. The elevators are also ridiculously slow - It took me 4.5 minutes to get from the 4th floor to the lobby. […] I was generally happy with the service of the hotel, until I realised I had left a shirt of great sentimental value in my room after I checked out. After some thinking, I realised that hotel cleaners had taken it away when they had changed the bedsheets (I couldn't find the shirt on my second night, and I assumed I had already packed it away.) I called the hotel to get it back, but none of the staff was willing to help me. I called more than 3 times, and each time, my call was just transferred around to one woman who I will call "N". N said that she would contact room service and call me back. She never called me back, so I called a 4th time the following day and she said that room service hadn't found anything. Very helpful and informative when they finally figured out your question. The biggest problem is the sink was included in the toilet and tub area. As far as I am concerned thats a big NO NO when you have several women trying to get ready. Only room for one at a time and it really messes with your schedule. "Days inn at Broadway - location, cleanliness.."
I stayed with my family and my brother's at the Days Inn just after Christmas of 2011 for two nights. Location was great, with close proximity to Central Park and safe neighborhood. But I found lots of bugs in the bathroom and massive fungal infestation of the bathroom ceiling in our bathroom. My brother said his was fine. Some furniture was broken, […] and the bathroom door could not be locked. Heating worked well, as did the AC. A breakfast place was just arcross the street, and a parkign garage a block away where I parked my car for just $30 per 24 hrs. I would suggest this hotel to others with reservation, bearing in mind the relatively poor cleanliness. Next time I visit NYC I will look for another place to stay. "Great location"
We took our family of 5 to the Macy's Day Parade. This hotel was in a great spot, close to the subway and could walk to Central Park and museum of Natural History. The only bad thing was the attitude of the receptionist at the front desk on the evening of 11/25. Maybe the Manager can help her learn how to serve customers with respect. The rates were some of the lowest we could find in Manhattan, but apparently you get what you pay for at the Days Hotel Broadway. We took a room in the stairwell (you read that right), thinking it would be quiet, yet the janitor was sweeping floors at 1:00 a.m. We found two bugs (roaches I think) in our room during the week we stayed there, and the […] room was quite small. (That's to be expected in NY.) The bed was lumpy, bedclothes old and a bit worn. The maid service was pretty good, and the front desk staff were quite friendly. But I'd probably consider paying an extra $100/night for nicer surroundings (or find something in the outer boroughs and take the subway, now that I have learned how to use it). We enjoyed our vacation stay in New York at this hotel. Room was cleaned everyday. Came back from site seeing to find fresh towels, made up bed, changed linens, and replaced soaps, shampoo, etc. Check-in was fast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Check-out was even faster. All in all this was a good place to stay. Located a medium distance from Times […] Square, but walking distance from Central Park. Local neighborhood was friendly and local stores were very convenient. Corner cafe was the best located across the street from hotel. Awesome place to eat breakfast, lunch, supper.
