    Not greatly located since the nearest subway is 5 long blocks away. Since I was aware of that before I booked the hotel, it wasn't unexpected but for... those that have never been to NY, this may be a bit of a surprise. I was only disappointed in the fact that on my first night there the elevators broke down for nearly 30 minutes and the stairs were being painted, so you were either stuck upstairs in your rooms or in the lobby. They were using the service elevator to carry food to their restaurant on the top floor and should have immediately stopped that to use the service elevator to carry hotel guests....     When I checked into the hotel, they talked me into upgrading my room for $40/night. For that, I got a shower and sink that sprayed muddy water (no joke) with a high shrieking sound coming from the shower head. The water took 5-10 minutes for hot water to come out and it wouldn't drain one bit. After complaining, the only thing they fixed for 2 days […] was the muddy water. Everything else remained the same (no drainage, cold water, etc..). Needless to say, this was the tenor of my 4 days there. Travelers beware! Do not stay here. Read more

I am from NYC originally so I knew the hotel would be an uphill hike to the nearest subway line on Lexington Avenue. But the new F train line is right off 63rd Street and that takes […] you over to the prime west side stops. The east side lines are also nearby on 60th.     As a woman traveling solo I prefer small hotels. The mid east side was convenient for numerous appointments packed into two days. But the hotel is completely lacking in charm or character. The hallways were dark and foreboding. The room was tiny and did not have sufficient lighting. Water was $7. No Duane reed nearby. No coffee maker. No sewing kit. […] No nail file. No umbrella. The desk clerk looked blankly at me when I asked for all of the above. My room on third floor overlooked a roof and the street. There was no means of lowering a blind to block the window. The bed was comfy but the rest of the furnishings were too small to be used for much. Insufficient lighting in the room. Cafe downstairs with outdoor seating for morning coffee and bagel worked well. Lobby packed with seating for guests and adjacent bar. Has the bones, location and potential but needs reworking of the concept. And lighting. Read more

    Overall I think the hotel was fine and I would stay there again if I was doing business on the UES for a couple of days. That said, I'm perplexed by the choice of techno music in the lobby and elevators. At 7am? Really, does ANYONE want to listen to that first thing in the morning? Also, while the room did not look dirty, I did find some stray items […] that suggested that they could take more care: a bobby pin on the floor, a St. Patrick's Day flag stuck in the curtains. Lastly, having to wait a full five minutes before hot water runs through the pipes is awkward. And while I loved that the hotel signals its intention to save on water and energy by letting guests re-use towels, I discovered that my towels were actually taken away and replaced each day. That's fine, but then don't ask me to re-fold my towels if I want to re-use them. It's counter-factual to your brand messaging. Read more

    Overall good experience. Very clean and tiday but with shortcomings: No closet or hanging racks to hang our clothes. The dresser /TV stand had drawers that do not close (open up all the time). Also, contrary to the advertisement, no free WIFI in the hotel. It costed us $5.00 to print our boarding passes in the business center.

    We loved staying at the Bentley. Our room was very comfortable, with a fabulous view (a very important feature for me). Interesting and lively neighborhood, with some terrific places to eat -- the Ritz Dinner for breakfast, Felice Wine Bar for dinner. I would stay at the Bentley again without question.

    I was traveling on business, and enjoyed the quiet workspace provided in the "large and spacious room for NYC hotel at this price level" . The oversized desk/dresser had easy access to technology outlets, cable TV excellent, and view out the window added perfect ambience. Loved the sitting space by the window too! I was not a fan of the restaurant "Prime" […] on the top floor, as their menu choices were too exotic and overpriced for this business budget and the maître d' politely snubbed me when I asked about not having soups/salads on their menu. Fortunately, the hotel was one block walk to the Space Deli on 1st which was sufficient for all meals. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was quiet and subdued, our room had a great view, and I look forward to staying here again. Read more

    Every time I return to New York for business I stay at the Bentley Hotel. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The location is very good with a number of neighborhood restaurants within 4 minutes walking distance. The rooms are very modern, clean and the beds are super comfortable. The on-site restaurant is a little more expensive but good food. […] The shower is only a sheet of glass to keep the water in. Water sprays everywhere.     I have stayed at the Bentley Hotel on numerous occasions, and am generally pleased with it. The only thing I can say is the common areas can be a bit noisy, primarily since a lot of younger people stay in the hotel.

    Had a no smoking room, but the vent in the bathroom was connected to another room that must have had a chain smoker staying in it. Made my room smell like an ashtray. Rooms have not been updated since the 80s.

    The hotel is OK. Rooms are decent. Beds were comfortable to sleep in but the surroundings were not that great of you want to get out and explore. The thing that I didn't like was their Internet connection. For $12/day I got a lousy connection of 0.1 Mbps so it was unbearably slow and it took between 2-4 minutes to load a single page!!!!!

    Most rooms have glorious views of the city or the Queensborough bridge and the river. Clean hotel, friendly staff, in -room hotel safe. Breakfast now also served in penthouse restaurant, a bit slow but nice. Several nice restaurants close by.

    I didn't expect much when I booked this hotel but needed a place close to Sloan Kettering while my husband underwent surgery. The Bentley was wonderful, we experienced hurricane Sandy while there and the staff cared for us like family. So helpful and efficient in all ways, they could not do enough for their guests.
