Great stay at this hotel. We arrived at 10 am, left our bags and the hotel staff ensured that we had 2 rooms next to each other after our day of sightseeing. Large, clean rooms with Internet included in the room price. Coffee maker, refrigerator, comfortable beds and plenty of towels. Next door to the hotel is a 24 hr pharmacy for drinks and snacks […] etc. 15 min walk to Times Square. Ate breakfast at Madison's on 1st and 53rd, which is a 5 min walk from the hotel, fabulous food, old diner style, wait staff very smart and attentive. Bustling place on the weekend, full of locals! Family vacation and this hotel fit the bill - not much in terms of service, but it is a Courtyard. Great views of the city and top location. The only negative as that we wanted to watch some of the Yankee game after a full day walking and their cable package had no YES network - bummer! I would still recommend it.

The hotel was great. There was a little construction going on inside at the time so the front desk was on the 12th floor which was a slight inconvenience but nothing major. It was a fairly quiet street but still a short walk to Bloomingdales, Rockefeller plaza and fifth ave. would surely stay there again.

The Hotel was nice, clean, beds were comfortable but the service was not good at all...They wasn't helpful at all when calling to as a question and not very helpful when going out to a destination..But the worst was some of our personal items taken from our room.

Let's see the staff was very friendly, room was always clean and neat. Valet parking/storage was a bit pricey so be ready 48/day. My only complaint was that when we walked into the room it was so hot it took your breath away. We called the front desk and found out the entire bldg is controlled to the same temp so they supplied us with a fan and we opened […] the window. Very enjoyable. Hotel staff were helpful at all times. Subway 1/2 block away enabled us to see NY City economically with a 7-day pass for $29 each. Grocery nearby as well as restaurants. Room was large with small sofa so plenty of room .Will be renovated Jan.-May 2013.

nice hotel. not great. typical interior of hotel chains. I had asked them to mount the crib before my arrival, but they did not. Once I called, they brought it in 5-10 minutes without a problem. Breakfast did not have cheese or ham, which I found unusual. Breakfast pricey for what you get. Great location!

When selecting a hotel for a family stay in NYC, I was suspect about the high ratings for this hotel. The price, however, could not be beat. We were 2 adults and 3 children ages 14, 13, 10. Once we arrived, we found the location is also ideal. You are not in the middle of Times Sq, nor would you want to be with kids. It is just a couple blocks away […] from the action and right by the subway. We arrived very early, so our room was not ready. We were treated to complimentary coffee/tea and use of restrooms on a special guest floor and checked our bags. Rob, a true gem of a concierge, filled us up with all kinds of FREE things to do with the kids that they really liked. Once in the room, we were delighted -- a double room is big by NYC standards, with pull-out couch for additional sleeping space, and very quiet, clean, and comfortable. What put this hotel over the edge for us, though, is the kindness and vitality of the staff. In addition to Rob, Wil, who checked our baggage and was more than happy to retrieve a camera we forgot to take. All the women working at the desk had a smile and true interest in serving us. I wish I remembered their names. The cleaning supervisor watching us depart the floor wished us well and asked us to come again. I can honestly say I would not consider another hotel in NYC. Brief 2 day stay with our 8 and 16 year old boys. Room was spacious, clean and up to date. The hotel staff were very helpful and professional. The location was perfect - we walked to the Central Park Zoo, to the shops on 5th Avenue and Park Avenue, and to Times Square. Not a high luxury hotel but EXCELLENT and would recommend to anyone.

No complaints. The location is great, near plenty of restaurants and other attractions, including Central Park. Just finished staying here for 4 nights with my wife and three young kids. Clean, spacious room, fast wifi, convenient location (the 6 and E subways get you downtown, uptown, and crosstown quickly), safe. Adjacent pharmacy is a plus. A good little story re: safety: my wife and daughter came back from a show in the evening when me and my sons were out […] at the Empire State Building. The girls received a ride from one of the bike/carriages back from Times Square, when they got to the hotel the driver tried to gouge my wife for the price of the trip. My wife entered the lobby to speak with the front desk folks about it (sent my daughter up to the room in case things got sketchy, and they did), the driver followed my wife into the lobby, making my wife very nervous to say the least. The front desk person suspected shenanigans, in no time a huge security guard/bouncer appeared and ran the driver out of there. Thank you, Courtyard Marriott!!! Perfect central location with easy subway access. Sofa bed in our room accommodated all 5 of us! They even had an extra set of bedding in the closet, so we didn't have to ask for extras. It was a very clean, quiet room on the 28th floor. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

We absolutely loved this hotel because the mattresses were not too soft and evely firm to the edges. The lines were soft, too! At night, the fan made the most pleasant humming sound all night long - the perfect white noise for my family. Arrived before check-in and had rooms ready for us. Rooms were a good size for metropolitan hotel. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Waiting for the elevators was not an issue. Tough to find a place in NYC with room for 2 adults, 2 older kids and a youngster but this one fit nicely. Friendly staff, clean, 1/2 block from subway line 6 station. No restaurant etc. but works great for us as a place to stay and launch from. Ess-a-bagel down the street on 3rd is a classic bagel place, by the way.

Excellent location, very convenient to transportation and restaurants, 24/7 shops, and within walking distance to Rockefeller Center. Room is very spacious for NYC hotels. It does not have the latest hotel decor but it is very comfortable, specially for family. Double Queen size beds are a plus. We will come back to stay next time we are in NYC.

Very nice hotel in a convenient area., near a subwway stop. The staff (Concierges, check-in staff, and bellmen) were unfailingly friendly and helpful.
