Room is small, but in good condition (queen bed with bath). Hotel location very good, close to Grand Central. The room with bathroom is a bit pricey for its small size, though. There is a restaurant called Salvation Taco on the first floor which is a good place, but it is now super popluar so it takes a while to get seated if you are looking to eat […] dinner there. Also, you need to be wary if you are staying on the 16th floor, one floor away from the roofdeck. There is a little kitchen there and the Pod Hotel employees go there and yell in loud voices from early morning until late in the night. It can be rough if you are there to get some sleep. Read more

Two things come to mind - 1) with a couple exceptions, the attitude of the front desk staff (including the concierge) is awful, as if we were bothering them. Unlike the doormen and the housekeeping staff, who were all very kind and polite. and 2) in an effort to appear hip, they pipe that techno music into every corner of the hotel (including elevator, […] hallways, and bathrooms), which just turns into annoying after dark (the bathrooms could use some ventilation instead). The hotel is aging very quickly. Poor maintenance is bring the hotel down. What you see online is not what you get when you arrive. Yes, the rooms are small but my double-bed room with bath was perfectly adequate for my three night stay. The room is ingeniously designed for efficient use of the space. The lobby cafe is pleasant and offers good food at modest prices.

You get what you pay for! I didn't read the room description carefully and was surprised on the actual size of the room (think sardine can) and then no bathroom in the room. Great location, rate better than most hotels, but the rooms are smaller than a cabin on a cruise ship. Shared baths are clean , and easy. Tv's are small, and pillows are the worst. They need better mattress also. That's why the rooms are less than 150. You get what you pay for !

Room so small its actually cool, like staying in a bunk in a ship complete w metal sink. But this is one of the City's best bargains - clean, efficient and kinda fun. Will stay over and over. Clientele is high end, well dressed but this is about great value and cant beat the location!

Yes, you have to be comfortable in a small space and sharing a bathroom (rooms do have sinks). There is a small desk to get work done and you can go downstairs and work on one of the dining tables or sit on the couch. Location is perfect for the subway or to grab a cab. It was a wonderful mix of young people, business people and travelers who wanted to stay in the city for an affordable price. My room was perfect, big enough for me but no wasted space on that stupid table they put in the corner of most hotel rooms that you never use. The rooftop garden offered a wonderful view out over Manhattan and the outdoor dining […] was private and coxy. The food was great, I had coffee and a bagel both good values and tasty. Thursday night when I came in there was a basket of the bakery from the day that had a sign on it saying help yourself, a nice little treat for those travelers who might not be able to afford much food in the city. Very small but very efficient space. Perfect for one person who is not spending a lot of time in the room. I have stayed there several times and always comfortable. I always ask for a quiet room and have never had an issue with noise. For breakfast in your room, order from Morning Star Diner around the corner. Best value in town - quick and good.

Excellent hotel for the money. Very basic but had all the essentials: firm mattress, desk, private bath with shower, and WiFi. Very clean. Staff service was excellent: wake up call at the exact time requested, extra pillow, and another TV remote, all delivered in a timely manner. Would definitely stay here again for a similar room-rate.

Considering its called the Pod Hotel, I expected the rooms to be small. No big deal. What I couldn't handle was the noise - the walls are thin, the windows are thin...all sounds were let into the room. Being on the 9th floor, I shouldn't hear street noise - but unfortunately, that was the case.
