The room was tiny but extremely clean, cosy and cute. Big and CLEAN windows with lot of sun and blue sky..Beautiful brand new bathroom, white and bright as well, very clean. White towels, a lot, everything you need from the soap bars to the tissues. Flat TV, mini fridge where you can put your bottle of water. The hotel has a pool and a gym too, great […] ! nice welcoming, no problems. The only thing is we did not find the sign "do not disturb" and were awaken by the cleaning lady at 8.30 am, then again at 10 am, cutting our rest into pieces !! The location is very good, it's 10 minutes walk to the times square, almost all subway lines are within a walking distance. We stayed in a spacious deluxe Queen room. The room was very clean, there was no noise either from the street or from other guests. The beds were extremely comfortable. Very impressive hotel staff. A few times needed extra blankets or towels, or to check on something and they always came quickly. Easy walk to the theaters. Been there before this hotel is fine and the neighborhood is improving. Easy on and off the west side highway by car. Also the services are not as expensive as midtown hotels,eg the cost to park the car for one day was $10.00.

We booked at the Skyline due to the recommendation of a business associate. I said we were looking for a value hotel that was clean and in a good location. The Skyline did not disappoint! We were somewhat skeptical after viewing the pictures online but the Skyline was just perfect. Located in the Hells Kitchen district it was within walking distance […] to most anything we wanted. The neighborhood was very nice and the people we encountered were very friendly. Even though our room had yet to be renovated it was both clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfy and the pillows were too. The Skyline surpassed our expectations and we plan to stay there the next time we visit New York. Our only criticism was the lack of a coffee pot in the room. Each morning we had to purchase coffee from the hotel restaurant and it was $2.25 a cup and it wasn't the best. Read more

The Skyline Hotel is a decent deal for mid-town Manhattan and the room was adequate, clean and comfortable. However, our first day there we were rudely awakened by a housekeeper coming into our room (knocking AS she entered, not before). This was at 8:30 on a Saturday morning! That night, some guests down the hall had a party. Security came to quiet […] them down at 1:30 in the morning. The party itself didn't disturb us, but the security guards talking very loudly as they walked down the hall sure did. The next morning, I arranged for late check-out because my daughter wasn't feeling well. I put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door handle, but the housekeeper came into our room anyway...this time without even knocking! A little off the beaten path, this hotel is an excellent value. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel overall and of the rooms. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The attached restaurant, P.J. Bricks was very nice, with a good variety on the menu, good value and pleasant, attentive staff.

Nice clean hotel for the price. Good location for theater goers(Three blocks from "The Book of Mormon:.) Lots of good reasonably priced restaurants within easy walking distance. I have stayed there a number of times because my daughter lives in the area, each stay has been quite satisfactory.

The location of the hotel is great, near the theater district. The room was comfortable, although the beds were a little hard. The concierge was helpful in finding restaurants nearby. The pool looked inviting, although we did not have time to try it. We will definitely return when back in the city.

I love the pool on the roof with the Manhattan view. The room is equipped with a fridge and a safe. I payed extra $30 for a larger room and didn't regret it. The main problems are the heating is central with no controller in the room and it was very hot but the staff was nice when he came after calling him and seeing that we have a baby he stopped the […] whole heating systems for two hours so the room could be cooler a little bit. Location was ok...two avenues walk to the nearest subway stop. The downstairs and the adjacent bar were nice, but the rooms were terrible. Music blasting from the offices, loud heater that kept me up at night, and flooding pipes in the bathroom. Overall hotel is decent. From the outside looks a little bit sketchy, but inside is much better. Rooms were clean and BIG. Probably some of the biggest in NYC for the price. Pretty barebones rooms tho. Bathrooms were unimpressive, but clean. Back side of hotel offers view of rear building, not what the namesake describes. Cheap parking. $10 per night […] and garage is under hotel. Storage only though. Little for from the subway, 2 avenues away, but still close. Hotel is too far away from public transportation. I missed tea and coffee amenities in the room, as well as free internet access. Bathroom didn´t have a seperate shower, and was old overall. However the room was quiet, and the bed super comfortable.

While I wouldn't give anything in this hotel 5 stars, it's a solid hotel. Very comfortable size and affordable considering its location. It was a little loud sometimes, but that's due to the people that stayed on my floor when I visited. I must mention this, because I like to exercise. The fitness room is above average. This hotel is an excellent value - good location, clean rooms, helpful staff. We were able to check in early which was extremely helpful since we had our 3 year old daughter who was in desperate need of a nap after a morning of traveling. My only complaint is that the walls are a bit thin so people in the halls and in the next room were easily heard. […] When our next door neighbor decided to have a loud get together that lasted until 2 am however, we alerted the front desk and they took care of it immediately. I love the hotel. It was unique since located where all the New Yorkers lived. Loved the area. Very close to Central Park, Broadway, 5th ave. We did not rely on Taxis. Walking was the best. Right on 10 ave to 50th street great small restaurante. The best!!! I will come back again. We had the greatest time in NY this just past weekend...

I have never stayed in a hotel where the room didn't not include a pamphlet or book describing the hotel's anemities, including pool, gym, restaurants and some information about them. Where is the pool? What are the hours? Next, I use a CPAP (a device to help me breathe at night for sleep apnea). Plugging it in to a receptacle next to the nightstand […] revealed the receptacle did not work. Not only did it not work but the hotel maintenance knew it was broken. The lamp was plugged into an extension cord running to an outlet behind the other bed. Instead of running a cord, why didn't they fix the outlet? Read more

One of the wash cloth was dirtier than the wash rug I use in kitcfhen. One of the receptionist was very nice and accomodating, while another one was unpleasant and stern. I avoided her and watched for the nice one to come back from lunch before I would go to the reception desk for what I wanted.

Good value. Well positioned for someone driving to and from Manhattan on the West Side Highway and the Hudson Parkway. The rooms in the back section of the hotel are a bit of a hike. European visitors were impressed by the helpful travel assistance and booking agent in the lobby, although I never used her services.

The hotel is much nicer on the inside than it looks from the outside. The reception people were friendly except for one of the bellmen and just okay concierge. Maybe it is a New Yorker attitude. It made me wonder about other spots. The toilet and shower leaked water constantly and amenities were sparse. Charging for internet was expensive and an old mentality-these days internet is offered everywhere. The coffee houses gave up on charging for it. It is conveniently located but 10th Ave. are very LONG blocks so you think 8th isn't that far but it was a lot of walking to get to the subway and we were there during the recent heatwave.
