Excellent hotel. Very attractive lobby and rooms. Bed was very comfortable. Two minor issues - the bathtub didn't drain quickly enough to keep up with the shower, and the complimentary breakfast could have included juices, jams, etc. But the staff provided jams on request. "Convenient, clean, comfy"
Great hotel. Great location. Because of weather I was forced to stay in NYC an extra night. Although the hotel manager would give me the room for an extra night, he wanted to charge me nearly twice the price I had paid for the other four nights. He wouldn't budge. "Nice place to stay; Larger room than most in NYC"
The hotel is location is very good. It is close to time square and NY Penn Station but the area is not crowded with a lot of people. Our hotel room was not ready when it should have been so friends and I had a drink at their lobby lounge. No big deal. Drinks were good and not pricey. I felt that the hotel has convenient hours of stay (3pm check-in, […] 1pm check out). The only thing that was annoying: the maid service knocked on our door 5+ times to see if they could clean the room. It began to get disruptive after the third time. "Underwhelming"
Pros: Large bathroom, plenty of space for 2 women to easily primp for a night out together. Large room especially for NYC. Close enough to Times Square to avoid the crowds. Decent walk to the subway. Very quiet, never heard or for that matter, saw, the guests on our floor. Cons: dated furnishings, carpet was beige and full of stains, velour furnishings? […] the couch had spots of questionable origin. No iron or ironing board kept in the room - had to request. TV was old, not flat panel, about 10 years old I would guess. "Upgrade" at check-in was not an upgrade at all - exactly the type of room booked and paid for. 3rd floor view from the tiny window in the corner was of the office building across the street. Never got coffee on our stay. Breakfast was done by 10am on Sunday and 9am on weekdays and there was no coffee service outside those hours. Cant comment on the quality of the breakfast other than to say its held in a dungeon on the lower floor. Ice machines located on the 5th floor only. Learned that after an endless search of the 3rd floor. Self park is inconvenient. No elevator from the hotel to the parking garage. "Exceptional Service"
My husband lived in Manhattan for years, and we travel there frequently. This was one of the best experiences we have had. The Hotel is beautiful and we loved the location. Upon arrival they voluntarily upgraded us no charge to a huge corner room, possibly the biggest hotel room either of us has ever seen in the city. We were traveling with our 16 month […] old daughter, they brought a really nice crib to our room immediately, all staff greeted us cheerfully and by name. While we were planning on a nice hotel and a pleasant stay, our actual stay exceeded our expectations greatly. This is a clean and beautiful hotel, and its face-life, some 5 or so years ago, really shows. There's a sheen of newness and quiet luxury. The rooms are well-appointed and very comfortable. The location is fabulous for a theater-goer-- at 51st and 7th, you're within walking distance of most Broadway theaters. "Convenience in the Theater District"
The hotel has a great location for theatergoers as well as business people dealing in midtown. The proximity to the subway is also a plus. Owned by an Italian company, the service had a feel more like a European hotel rather than the big chains that predominate in the Times Square area, Morning coffee was a nice touch and the bar had a modern yet warm […] feeling to it. Great location! Quiet hotel. Elegant. Very friendly front desk staff and helpful, knowledgeable concierge. Great big bathtub with excellent water pressure. Very comfortable mattress. Slept great! Room was a tad pricey. No iron or ironing board in our room. One night, despite hanging the "do not disturb" sign on the door, turn-down service came in while […] I was out. Didn't really bother me but I know some people wouldn't appreciate that. The Michelangelo shouldn't demand fifteen dollars for WiFi. Especially since all surrounding hotels offer it for free. Extremely satisfied with my experience at the hotel! Gorgeous interior, comfortable, spacious rooms, impeccably clean! The staff is attentive and helpful beyond imaginable: we arrived at the hotel at noon (2 hours before the check-in time) and were offered an option to either wait for the room we booked that was still unavailable or immediately check-in […] to upgrade room at no extra fee. The room I booked was a simple room with a king sized bed. It was gorgeous and spotlessly clean. The bath tub was enormous. The water pressure in the shower was top-notch. My only complaint, and really this wasn't a big deal, was that my windows faced another part of the building. So even though it was sunny and 95 degrees outside, it seemed like night […] time inside. Pros - - Large room with a big bathroom - excellent service - whenever anything was needed just rang the front desk and had it in minutes - morning coffee and pastries - great start to the day! Great coffee too! - Location - close to Central Park, Times Square, shopping Cons - - Decor a little dated. Could use some fresh carpet, bed spreads, sofas. […] But did the job and wasn't repulsive or anything. - Wi-fi in the room is $13 a day; there is a computer at the front desk to use and can print boarding passes from here though - the fan for the air conditioner was a little loud. As vezes que fui NY, normalmente não ficava nessa localização, ficava sempre próximos aos aeroportos, pois eram rápidas as viagens e a maioria a negócios. Mais desse vez fomos realmente a passeio e foi muito bom esta no Michelangelo, pois a localização é ótimo, o hotel apesar de não ser gigantesco, tem uma boa estrutura e a sua localização é ótimo, […] 2 quadras da 5ª avenida e 3 quadras da TIME SQUARE. Também existe tipo restaurante com tudo, pizza, salada, lanche, bebidas, yogurtes e muitas outras coisas bem bacanas que se pode tomar um excelente café da manhã.
