"They need new beds"

"When a King bed is not a King bed"
Hotel is small and but nicely decorated. Staff was nice but not overly friendly or helpful. When checking in the staff made sure to finish their conversation before helping me. We booked a King bed, but when we arrived into our room noticed that the bed was not a king, I called down to the front desk and asked about our booking and was told that a king […] bed in a hotel is different that one in the home. I have never heard this and in fact stayed in many hotel rooms with actual king beds. I know this seems silly to focus on this part of the hotel but we paid for a king bed and did not receive it. "clean, fairly nice looking, not worth the pricetag"
Room was extremely tiny with barely any room to move around the bed. Poorly layer out. I felt like I was in a cabin on a cruise. Our view was of what appeared to be a somewhat run down apartment building just feet from the windows, and a run down alley. Not an appealing view at all, considering the location and price tag. The staff was wonderful, and […] the lobby was very nice. The bed was very comfortable but that's really the only positive I give to the room itself. The desk did not have an outlet anywhere close so don't think you could use that room on business. The coffee maker was a single/two cup coffee maker. They provided us with the two cups but only one regular coffee bag. So if you're there as a couple and you both drink reg coffee or both drink decaf, forget about it. The most interesting part was how unnecessarily complicated the shower was. Its never a good sign when the literally post directions on how to use it. Overall the hotel was clean and looked fairly nice, just very cramped. We stayed in nyc last year at the same time same area same price at a different hotel, and we should have gone back. This Hotel would be a good choice but the HOTEL WAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!! Scaffolding was right outside our window...the workers were on the job from 8am-5pm. While the hotel was clean, the rooms are very small and dark. The bed was very uncomfortable and there was no mini-fridge or mini-bar, no ice machine or soda machine. Every morning at 8 am until 4 pm, men were working outside our tiny window, jackhammering something very loudly. Had to move rooms 3 times, the first time because the windows where all boarded up due to hurricane sandy. I know they could not help the fact the hurricane had occurred but we only found out that the windows where boarded up when we got into the room. The second room was roasting hot, in fact the whole floor was hot. Thankfully the last room was great […] and I must thank the staff for making the effort to sort this out, even if it did take 2 turns. I would recommend the suites but not the regular rooms. Service and cleanliness fantastic a 5. This is a very old hotel consequently elevators (holds maybe 6) and hallways are tight, really tight. Room is small and bed felt like it was leaning backwards, room a/c was hard to regulate, room stuffy, hallway stuffy. We were in room 618 which over looks a brick wall. We had room 1715, for what it's worth and we were unable to sleep!!! About every 30 minutes we kept hearing a loud "clang-clang", like 2 pieces of metal banging together.
